♿️👍🏻DBBorosMy thoughts on the disability discussionI was born with spastic diplegia cerebral palsy. every time I would talk about it in middle school or elementary school, kids with lose their minds and try to destroy any evidence of it. and nowadays, when I talk about it in high school, the only people who seem to listen, is my best friend who I’ve known since the beginning of high school, she became so interested when I told her the stories of how Judy Hueman and Brad Lomax were my heroes. when I shared my story with the rest of the class, my creative writing teachers mouth dropped open. but in truth, not many teachers knew what I was talking about. It was a shock to their system when they looked it up. if it wasn’t for events like the disability protest sit in in San Francisco, I wouldn’t be here after nine surgeries. or in darrell, chill Mitchell from NCIS New Orleans words: “ it’s a genius plan actually, using disabled people as spies. disabled people are everywhere, but society, trains people to look right through us. We hide in plain sight.” This is a quote I’ve had laminated on the back of my chair and a T-shirt I have, and every time I read that quote, I think of this protest. So thank you for doing an episode on that.♿️👨🏻🦽➡️😇🤝🤞🏻

WarwallyDevastated!!This has been such a wonderful, educational and personally edifying show for me. I can’t tell you how sad I am to hear that it will be discontinued!!! Listening was my guilty pleasure. So many talk about binge watching. Well I was a binge listener!! Dallas, I really hope you are able to come back into my (our) life and delight us with more histories of inventions! It is such an inspirational way to learn about the world around us!!

monicatauzinGoing to miss Patented.I am sad that Patented will not be producing more episodes. I have loved everything about this show… Especially Dallas!
-
Bung Lu SuThe chicken nuggets episode was arrogantThat guest turned me off of the whole podcast. The host encouraged the nonsense. Once I looked up the guest I was not surprised.
-
VanzantenLet your guests speak! This is a really interesting show with a really, really interesting concept, but the host Dallas Campbell is a total buttinski and keeps butting in and interrupting his guests. It seems to me he is constantly trying to show that he is cleverer than his guests, or that he knows more than his guests. If he would only keep quiet and let them speak! Why have guests if you are going to talk over them? I would have given this five star rating, but I can’t because of the host trying to be such an irritating knowitall..

p_ jonesJust tell us alreadyIt seems to take this fellow quite a while before getting around to telling us the story of how things were invented… no need to have to stretch things out. Just get to the point good sir.
-
feeecoinAiLol it’s already here. It’s already changed us. It’s so powerful we are zombies now.

chicagoanlistenerEducational entertainmentLove the program! Here’s a suggested product/patent to consider: bear spray! The stuff used to fend off attacking bears. How was this developed and does it work? Thanks for interesting and informative podcast that is also kind of funny sometimes 😁👍

JyvyffciInvented? When the topic is something that is invented I can learn something. When the topic ventures into theoretical issues, there are many podcasts that are better substantiated. Stay in your lane.

emaildanielsHost is insufferableGood topics but had to give up on it the host keeps making adolescent and misogynistic jokes about his male member and adult films and confirms several times through his own admission that he is notvery bright. Not enlightened the dumbest and worst of the history-hit shows. Not for me. Beware.
-
AT-1979Good stuff.Awesome podcast. Good degree of variation in topics. Dallas has a nice inquisitive style with just enough humor without overdoing it.
-
chalkrAlways awesomeI love this show. It’s always so interesting. Even when the episode topic isn’t necessarily something I ever thought I’d care about, I end up being very amused or awed by the end.
-
IsisrabbitAlways interestingMy son and I listen to show whenever we are in the car. We love the show! There always seems to be interesting stories behind every invention. We’d like to hear about the invention of beekeeping…?
-
oscrodmedMy cup of tea 🫖!Amazing and easy to understand topics all around!
-
eugenia moskExcellent!Just listened to the canned food episode. Makes sense that the Campbell’s soup family was located in Pittsburgh since the steel industry was huge there in the early part of the 20th century and that was vital to canning. The football team is even called the Pittsburgh Steelers. Eugenia M. Washingtonville NY (USA)

VentilationstationDiverse & divertingExcellent, bite sized chunks of usually fascinating topics with a curious and charismatic host.
-
Katidid19Great PodcastI enjoy learning about random parts of history so this is a perfect way to do that.
-
JmmillettHistory of the best of humanityMost histories are of politics, nation states, powerful individuals, war, or religion. Patented focuses on the innovations that ultimately change the world and make history.
-
SammaDammaThank youLife is short. Work is (sometimes) dreary. This show reminds me there is a larger world out there. Thank you.
-
rocinante23Excellent and thoughtful!Great show taking things in our world and giving the details, myths and miss understood backstory done in an entertaining way!
-
Arwen's Kitten MomCharming host, fascinating topicsDallas Campbell is a gem—charmingly enthusiastic, knowledgeable, funny, and extremely self-effacing. He likes nothing more than showcasing his guests’ vast knowledge about a particular invention or innovation. I look forward to every episode.
-
DanunixTerrific podcast! An enjoyable new podcast that is intelligent, fascinating, and witty. Great host.
-
trying2BrationalNew favorite podcast! Brilliantly done.Found this recently and am listening to almost all of the episodes so i can learn more stuff! Guests are well selected, and host does a wonderful deep dive on all the topics. The jaunty theme music is great for walks. Highly recommend this series.

Brooklyn Sugar RaeBarbieFun interview. One blooper that jumped out was Tanya Stone’s reference to Hollywood female stars that she said inspired Barbie’s dimensions, notably Marilyn Monroe, but when she threw in Hepburn — whether Audrey or Katharine — heavens no! Swans, to be sure, but not va-va-voomers. Back to the interview … there was good chemistry with Dallas, too.

Sean O'SkeaTop notchAll the History Hit contnet is remakably good for a small indie company but this newest addtion, Patented, really puts it over the top. Hard to belive this isn't a BBC show. Great presenter, terrific topics, quickly becomeing one of my favorite podcasts.

History#FanDrone Delivery- more than a few problemsIf you know something about the specific topic, you are not likely to be impressed by the host (Jacob Goldstein for new podcast “What’s Your Problem?” ) at a minimum. Nor, in this case with the guest. The highly simplistic discussion that centers around Rwandan airspace allowing unlimited drone ops for Zipline as a more modern, capable system than the US airspace and its associated regulatory system (with perhaps a just few more aircraft flying low level in it) is at best purely ignorant (=host) or mendacious and misleading (=guest). I will give the podcast series a few more listens in hopes it improves.
-
dldnhExcellentAn excellent podcast, always very interesting. I learn something new with each and every episode.
-
knellyFound TreasureWhat a delight to listen to something that is both interesting and fact based and that is filled with warmth and charm. A gift in the middle of the week to be sure.
-
Phyllis RobbinsGreat Concept with FlawsHaving an episode about motion pictures building to a reveal and then hearing that the guest won’t tell so we will buy his book is irritating in the extreme. Pick guests & topics more carefully then it’s a winner!
-
Ajax0012Good showKeep it up
