    Tara’s Talents
Vulnerable, knowledgeable, relatable, communal, humble. Tara builds on a foundation of practice that I find elicits feeling of belonging, while bringing topical examples and relevant conversation to her talks, resulting for me in a trusted resource and sanga in my pocket.

    Changing me
The most recent episode (April 2024) with Lee Camp was a great discussion. So much good impactful foundational stuff here that I needed to revisit and learn once again. A really wonderful conversation and so very helpful for me to hear professionals examine their own lives and struggles. I have been listening to Tara Brach since about 2017 when we adopted our son and I started a new job. Life was crazy and listening to this podcast has helped put life in perspective. I can say this has changed me and continues to ground me. Tara is easy to understand, tells relevant and funny stories, and has the gift of vulnerability. Not many I have listened to capture all of these qualities. Thank you Tara for changing my life- my spouse thanks you ☺️

    A beautiful touch
Graciously and gently she gets to the heart of what matters with earned vision, compassion and eloquence. While reminding us of what we know if we could calm, open and listen, and focus our efforts on growing. With an assurance too, that we share in this human journey and care deeply. I so appreciate you., the interviews and meditations are timely for me.

For reasons big and small and everything in between, this woman has changed my life. I can’t put my experience into words but the beauty, wisdom and grace she embodies and shares week after week is transformative; a rare gift in this day in age. thank you, Tara.

    Thank you Tara❤️
As a young woman who is struggling with life, the guided meditations you publish, help guide me to feel safer. I try to meditate without any guide, but it’s very difficult— it feels unsafe, so it’s so nice, having a comforting voice to coax me out of freezing and fear.

    Better human being
Tara your meditation has helped me in my Christian practice to be a better human being.. When I take the time to center myself and be and follow your meditations. I come back to the center and contemplate the miracle of being alive with God.

    Disappointed
It’s fine to call on israel for a ceasefire in gaza, but to not also call on hamas to unconditionally surrender is an intellectually dishonest position.

Awakening from the habits of false refuge
To address critiques of Dr. Brewer joining Tara on her podcasts—his extensive research is based on how to use mindfulness to interrupt unhelpful habits that keep us in the thoughts and behaviors that separate us from presence. Tara would call these false refuges: overeating, smoking, anxiety. This work is incredibly powerful and serves as a basis for awakening to presence. Dr. Brewer’s work has nothing to do with diet culture (or even dieting, really!) and he is not trying to sell anything. His work has helped me tremendously and is very much in line with discussions of spiritual awakening. Anyone who says differently does not have awareness of what this is really about.

    Diet culture and Buddhism?
I absolutely love Tara’s podcasts. I have been an avid listener for the last six years plus. She is a remarkable in her talks and podcasts. She weaves Buddhists teachings in such a way that it relates so aptly to our American daily lives. I liken her to a young Pema Chrodron. Both of these teachers are undoubtedly the best at really getting to the heart of people’s struggles in life. No doubt the best! The only guest I find problematic on her show and he has been on several times is Judson Brewer who on the latest podcast. I find it disheartening and upsetting that he uses mindfulness and Buddhism to market and sell his products. From his Eat Right Now app- which is a monthly subscription you pay for and is basically a diet to his books which are books on dieting and restricting. He advises eating only certain foods. He demonizes sugar and carbohydrates. He obviously has to market his book and go on his friend’s shows to help sell his book. In my opinion, I do not think dieting or concern about body weight, is connected to Buddhist teachings or as Tara’s calls it the two wings of mindfulness: self love and acceptance and compassion for yourself and others. With that said, I wholeheartedly recommend her podcast. If you struggle with restricted eating I highly suggest skipping this particular podcast.

    My church
I started listening to Tara on my long morning commutes to work. When I am grumpy or in autopilot Tara continually breaks down my walls and shakes me from “the trance”. I feel a sense of relief and connection immediately. I was lucky enough to join one of her sessions in person and waited in line to see her at the end. Although I was the last person in a long line Tara made me feel just as special as the first. Thank you for everything Tara, your RAIN practice, meditations, humor, knowledge, empathy for all beings, wonderful guest speakers, and of course - the widening the lens.

    Platforming Zionists
Hi Tara, Thought I’d let you know that Arthur Brooks is a Zionist who is downplaying the genocide taking place by deflecting people to be happy with reality. I’m disgusted you are platforming him. Free Palestine.

    Involved with BetterHelp.
I clicked on the Better help platform and was immediately signed up. I was struggling with my internet access and needed more support from Better Help. ( I needed a person to help me navigate their sight, for I am 83 years old.). After repeated inquires, I only got back programmed responses in my email. I decided to cancel my membership. It took me three months to get a refund for what had been taken out of my account. I see they are now being charged with giving out private information of clients who trusted the. Please look into this matter. I love your show and want to trust the platforms you are sponsoring.

    Refuge
I discovered Tara during the pandemic. Her way of conveying the heart of Buddhism and the links of this path to psychology have been life changing for me. Her honesty about her own struggles and successes with her practice give me the courage to continue through these politically unsettling times.

    Pure Gratitude
I found a copy of Tara’s book Radical Acceptance at a book sale at my sons’ school. It became a profound guidepost to me while living through the pandemic/homeschooling/life stress of 2020+. That book and it’s message, has slowly changed my life, as has all her work. I’m currently reading my way through Radical Compassion. Her guided meditations & talks/podcasts feel like good medicine. I grew up with a very traditional Christian indoctrination and find the way she presents Buddhism & meditation in an open minded, open hearted way to be a breath of fresh air. All perspectives are welcome here. Everything belongs. Love, acceptance, and compassion are the goal. She is the mentor and therapist I’ve always wanted. Thank you for nurturing this world, Tara. Much love.

    Grateful Peace
Thank you so much Tara for these meditations. The one entitled, “being a kind witness,” is my new favorite and I listen to it almost every day. I loved your Q&As with your husband. I experience so much awakening here. And then the recent one with Buddhist poet, Jane Hirshfield - wow. Pure bliss. This is my go to podcast in the evening when I want to wind down. I feel so much peace here. Thank you, Tara.

Amazing but provided incorrect info re treatment of eating disorders
I have loved Tara’s books and podcast for years and was also dismayed to hear her talk about Overeaters Anonymous for the treatment of bingeing in her habits podcast. As a Registered Dietitian who works in the field of eating disorders and regularly coordinates care with fellow ED-specializing medical doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, and therapists, I can tell you that OA is NOT an evidence-based treatment for bingeing. The standard of care is Intuitive Eating. Scientific evidence does not support the idea of food “addiction”. If you struggle with an eating disorder (Binge Eating Disorder is the most common one), please find a therapist and dietitian that specialize in EDs so you get the correct treatment. I didn’t see a contact option on her website so I am hoping someone reads this review and lets Tara know. She had such a huge audience it would be terrible for so many people to become misinformed about what the standard of care is for the treatment of binge eating.

Fantastic - but the audio clipping is making it impossible for me to listen!
I have listened to and loved Tara Brach for years!!! This podcasts content is amazing. However - recently whatever mic or editing she’s using in post is clipping (to reduce room tone) the fronts and ends of every word. And is truly making it impossible for me to listen to anymore! Tara if you see these — can you please get a mic that allows room tone to be included? Or not editing in post to reduce background noise? Thank you so much!! Best, Amy

Anyone who leaves a one star on a podcast of this nature is truly unhinged and needs to seek treatment. Tara Brach is an angel and healing one at that. Thank you Tara for your wisdom, kindness, and empathy. You are very loved in our household!
