    Getting better each week
Been listening since the first episode. Learned some things I didn’t know as a 40 Year Dan fan like the lexicon / peg story. The most recent rob mounsey podcast brings some great inside info that me as a Dan fan can’t get enough of. Highly recommended !

    Jive free pod
The one stop shop for all your Steely Dan needs. Intelligent, opinionated and well-informed (just like Fragen & Becker themselves), these chats take us from beginning to end and all matters of inbetween. Not sure how I missed this pod but now that I’m onboard the episodes are burning by and I’m looking forward to the next guest. Bravo Alex!

The Ultimate Steely Dan Geek Out
Gaucho Amigos taps into the passion and thoughtfulness of the Steely Dan fandom, as host Alex interviews musicians, writers, friends and other admirers of Walter Becker and Donald Fagen’s musical legacy. The conversations are by turns cerebral, snarky, sentimental, joyful and sometimes downright touching. Well worth a listen, especially the episodes featuring Cimcie Nichols and Howard Rodman.

Great Podcast for Steely Dan fans
Gaucho Amigos has everything you’d want in a Steely Dan podcast: great guests, wide-ranging topics, and lots of cool tidbits of Steely Dan lore. It’s not a scholarly approach or an album-by-album guide, but takes a more laid-back, conversational approach that allows the show to get into some more interesting corners of the Dan universe. Highly recommended!

    Funny and insightful
Based on the first episode this is already the Dan pod for me, which is important because there was a void there. To be sure, there are a lot of podcasts and web-series do a great job of dissecting the musical craftsmanship of the band, or expounding the lore, or underscoring how weirdly original these guys are/were, far fewer have truly scratched the surface of understanding them as real human beings and as artists, and understanding by extension the enduring and ever-growing appeal of their art in today’ society. Both Alex and Harry clearly have a great musicological book of knowledge, and effortlessly demonstrate a deep understanding and love of the music and its larger context, and can articulate so many seemingly obvious truths about the history and importance of the Dan that I had always to fully appreciate, but nevertheless always knew were going on, on some level. The result is a fun and insightful pod (not to mention quite funny at times) about an endlessly fascinating band that will make listening to both band and pod more enjoyable and rewarding. Five enthusiastic stars.
