    Best Record Review Podcast
Theses guys have the absolute best record/vinyl review show I’ve heard. They provide in depth history and insights about the how the record was produced, sequenced, performed, you name it. The bottom line is that you will end up listening to records you may have never considered listening to. And they don’t take themselves too seriously.

Fun way to learn more about great albums
I’ve recently started getting into vinyl and this podcast is a really fun way to learn more about albums I already love, and gain an appreciation for groups I might have otherwise overlooked. Lots if great banter between the hosts, and lots of great ideas to look for at the next record show.

This podcast is phenomenal. It’s a must for rock & roll fans, especially rock history buffs. The guys are extremely knowledgeable and incredible at making useful connections between bands/musicians. I learn something every episode. Best of all, I have expanded my music collection as a result of listening. I’m thoroughly enjoying this podcast! Keep doing what you’re doing! It’s greatly appreciated.

    Earnest Discussion
If you like music and enjoy deep dives into important LPs and the artists that created them then this is a podcast for you. As the title says, these guys are fun and have a sense of humor but they take the music seriously and engage in thoughtful earnest discussion. Love the show!

If you don’t like this podcast you’re a bad person
This underrated podcast is devoted to discussions of an entire album. But as a bonus you also get an in-depth history of the band or musicians who recorded the album. In literally every episode I have listened to, I have learned interesting facts about the album and artist in question. The only problem is, if I start listening when I go to bed, as I commonly do for podcasts, it disrupts my sleep because I get too interested in the discussion. The hosts are an interesting mix. Doug, the M.C., has an odd declamatory style of speaking that becomes endearing with time. J.M. offers interesting technical comments on the musicianship. But a special shout-out goes to Tony Slagle, who puts a tremendous amount of energy into the research and inevitably is the one who provides the trivia nuggets that stick with me when the episode is over. This podcast deserves to be more widely known.

    A very lucky find!!
I am so happy to have stumbled upon this podcast. I am always looking to listen too, and find new music to add to my collection, this podcast was a God send. I may not always like the albums reviewed, but I always enjoy and appreciate what the hosts have to say. They help me to understand and see in these albums things I never noted before. Thank you so very much to the entire team at This is Vinyl Tap. Cheers

    Surprise surprise
Wow guys, caught y’all by accident and enjoyed the listen. You spoke well, even if our opinions were a bit different. It’s hard to find an album podcast where it’s talk- Plus music. Most folks don’t bother giving a sample of what they’re discussing. Bonus, you speak without saying like and you know over and over. Keep it up👍. Being an Austin crew, how about one of the early Butthole Surfers albums- if that doesn’t wreck your ears.

    Great podcast
I’ve listened to two of these so far. I hope they talk about Dark Side of the Moon or London Calling.

Three Texans Talk Tunes, Tracks, and Talent
I love the premise for this podcast which seems to be, at least in part, that music should be taken in as a whole (albums) and consumed as the collections they are meant to be. Three native Texan music lovers (one of whom is a musician in his own right) explore this topic with wit, originality, and all the details and trivia that true music lovers want to hear. Looking forward to future episodes!
