GracePointe Church | Nashville, TN

65

The GracePointe community is leading the theological development and practice of Progressive Christianity. This is at the core of what makes us distinct, and is far from a simple label change for a modern repackaging of traditional beliefs.

Antithetical to the gospel & true hope
Disguised as hopeful and attempting to appear genuine, this church teaches perpetual victimhood, fear, and hatred. The first message I listened to was recent (Nov ‘24), and within 4 minutes the speaker, was talking about how America was attacked on Jan 6, 2020. After doing a little research they also talk about white supremacy, gun reform/control, and other talking points in the “woke” arsenal…. From the stage. They don’t teach redemption & forgiveness of sins through the atonement of Christ, but welcome, encourage, and promote things plainly taught in Scripture that are divisive & immoral that God hates.

The love humanity is there, but truth is lacking.
This church recently posted the following, “As Progressive Christians, we're open to the tensions and inconsistencies in the Bible. We know that it can't live up to impossible, modern standards. We strive to more clearly articulate what Scripture is and isn't.” I think it’s good to strive to clearly articulate the Bible, by modern standards it definitely brings up tension in our culture. But if the Bible can’t live up to the standards for this church, then what does? Humanity? Scroll through the available sermons, pick one, and it won’t be long before you learn that this church trusts themselves rather than God. This church strives to be loving, but they lack truth. Find a church that preaches the Bible with both love and truth.

    amazing
I stumbled upon this podcast randomly through a google search. I thought I had lost my faith until I listened to the “Inherent Union with God” episode. Best rhetoric I have ever heard, and the overall emphasis on the mission of Jesus over salvation through his death changed my perspective. Truly cannot emphasize how amazing I think this church/podcast is. I listen all the time now. Wish I lived in Nashville

    Wow
I found this podcast randomly through a recommendation on Instagram. Started listening to it because of the teaching surrounding the biblical story of the demon Legion and the pigs. I don’t know this pastor, I’ve never even been to Tennessee but I’m so thankful for their ministry. My life has truly been enriched and my faith deepened because of Pastor Josh Scott’s genuine and gentle, thought provoking approach to teaching.

Finding this church and podcast has been one of the few resources resurrecting my confidence in the direction and paths available for faith in America. Inclusion, diversity, and celebration of the gospel of love. Happy thank you and more please. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Out right unbiblical teaching. The Bible warns of this exact thing.

    Thank you
I live in eastern PA and wish there was another GracePointe near me. My boyfriend and I are considering moving south next year but are wary of how we will be received since we are LGBT. Listening to your podcast makes me want to move to Nashville! I’ll be visiting my parents next month over Father’s Day weekend and we are coming to your church to visit. Can’t wait to experience the love in person. Thank you for all you’re doing ❤️

Keep putting the work in. You know it’s worth it. Keep killing it with the local church buddy. An maybe write a book on the deeper truths in the scripture 🤷🏽‍♂️ I can ask right lol

    Thank you
This is exactly the radical, inclusive love of Jesus I've been looking for

    It's not about Jesus.
I heard this was a great church but I can't understand why they don't teach the Bible or talk about the gospel of Jesus. All the speeches I've listened to so far could be college lectures for a progressive sociology course. Two problems: These people aren't qualified sociologists, and these are not sermons. They do not emphasize the things the Bible emphasize. This is pretty disappointing and sad.
