Kkoenig92Closed mindedI followed this podcast up to the 100th episode give or take. I enjoyed it thoroughly most days but as it gained popularity they got too big for their britches. They got sponsored and formed a little cult almost in their social platforms to a point where if you didn’t use their sponsored products, voiced opinions on a product you liked better or even just talked differing opinions you were ostracized. Waterfowlers are the worst kind of gear junkies. That’s a known fact. I can take some razzing but these guys and their followers just aren’t welcoming. They boast all the time how they will ban you from their social groups for “stirring the pot” or whatever but most of the time it’s just a power trip. Stardom did not suit these guys well. Went from one of the only decent content waterfowl podcasts to a cult that I just don’t fit in with. I stopped listening and just can’t get into the content anymore after seeing their true colors. I just don’t fit in with frat boy waterfowlers who are so closed minded they can’t take any opposition to their way of doing things.

big11🅱️Great podcast for anyone that is new or looking for ideasSo far I am on episode 80 and think these guys are funny and smart when it comes to waterfowl hunting. I have been hunting off and on since I was a kid and I’m always up for learning. These two have helped me in many different areas from what gear is best, to better ways to improve my hunting skills and many others. They are both level headed and willing to give an opinion but also understand the other person’s view. I plan on finishing all the episodes and hope there are more to come. I read a few low star ratings that others gave and totally disagree with them. One of them even mentioned that Josh and Dan were city boys. Haha. Duh! Most of us waterfowl hunters are. That’s the point of the podcast. To try and improve your success as a hunter at public ground and private. Amazing podcast! Thank you Josh and Dan.

NWFloridaHunterUnderstanding K9 Health!Just a listened to episode 198 with Dr. Joe Spoo very informative episode on some simple ways to better understand and acknowledge signs of problems a dog can be enduring throughout their work load. Also a good reminder not to over react but be mindful of the dogs need many of our breeds won’t stop until they drop. Being able to recognize and stop working before a serious injury occurs is vital. Good episode on how to maintain and keep a dogs health in peak performance for long days in the field and long years in our family!

Chief114578HmmIt’s okay. It doesn’t seem very organized at times, the sounds quality is decent, a lot of times one guy talks louder than the other into the mic so be prepared to have your ears blown off if you turn the volume up to hear the one guy. They always seem to take for ever to jump into the topic of the day. Other than that there some decent info here, nothing you couldn’t find on the internet yourself though.

DT51!SillyCliche brand plugging from guys that live in the city......want to be experts with limited experience in waterfowling. Claim to know about Midwest hunting when they only hunt with outfitters. Just silly.

JoeWashington85Great EpisodeEpisode 169 is the best one I’ve heard in a long time, the guys @ freelance honkers are Bada$$ and living the Dream!!! I can relate as I invited a stranger on a duck hunt with me this year, turned out to be a great friend and my best hunting buddy, keep up the great work!

LClayWUsually GoodI’ve been listening for a couple years and generally enjoy your podcast. Occasionally there is an episode, like #165 for example, that just has no value at all for me. Does anyone care about any of this self-focused chatter?

jatccarrMakes my work day fly byI’m an electrician and when doing mundane tasks I pop in my headphones and listen and work. Sure feeds my fix of waterfowl daydreaming during the work week. Keeps me interested and is amazingly informative. Just got done listening to ep 134 about waders and I’ll be sure to be taking better care with the new breathable drake waders I just bought! If I can make those last a few extra years considering they cost $500 this episode and the guest from Simms just did me a solid! Love your podcast and Facebook group. Know one at work is as crazy about waterfowl hunting as I am so it’s nice to listen to topics that keep me interested all day! PLEASE GET SOMEONE FROM BENELLI TO GO OVER THE SBE3! LOTS OF PROBLEMS REPORTED IN YHE COMMUNITY AND ID LIKE TO GET IT CLEARED UP FOR EVERYONE! Thank you !

PaperenginnerExcellent resource & entertainmentThis podcast does a great job of balancing good information with good entertainment. Most of the information is driven towards the beginner hunter in waterfowl but brings up some good points for more experienced hunters. Specifically techniques and methods in all areas and flyways. Also the people in the industry that they interview showcase good new products and ideas. I have enjoyed listening to them for years and look forward to each new release.

jesserainwaterKeep up the good work!Been listening forever, since back when there weren’t barely any waterfowl podcasts. Even though we are on opposite sides of the country (I’m in WA state) I totally can relate the the struggle of coaching my kids baseball, basketball etc and spending time in the marsh. Keep up the good work boys!

bill rivasTop notch Waterfowl infoI am a seasoned Waterfowler, yet I feel we all forget the basics and the no brainers at times. It’s great to hear other ideas from other great Waterfowlers. These guys cover the basics all the way to advanced tactics that I believe truly work well. Also the dog training from Barton is and his advice is second to none. Well done and Keep them coming guys!

nsmith62Great show! Both Dan and Josh are both extremely awesome guys that have done a lot to bring the waterfowl community together and to spread some knowledge. I was on a rotation overseas for the Army this past year and I listened to the podcast every chance I could in order to get over missing this season.

marsh assassinAwesome Podcast, Awesome Duo (Josh & Dan)Great podcast that covers a wide range of waterfowl related topics from hunting techniques, to firearms/shell selection to photography to equipment reviews. The quality of the content and breadth of subject matter experts is fantastic. Josh and Dan bring a down home feel to this podcast-you feel like you’re a member of the family. Suitable for beginners and experienced hunters alike. Highly recommend!

reedbartellGreat to learn fromI just started waterfowl hunting last year and this podcast has helped my tremendously! Thanks guys and keep up the good content! I would love more strategy videos too!
-
gjw0591Decent PodcastSolid podcast that has unfortunately become overwhelmed by product plugging and sponsor segments. I totally understand the need for Sponsors to pay operating costs, but it’s gotten out of hand. I now skip 5-6 minutes at the start of each episode to get past the loonngg list of sponsors.
-
Jordan GregoruThe Greatest Waterfowl Podcast! These gentlemen cover a broad range of hunting topics. I’ve been hunting since I was 12 years old and I’m still learning things. From ammunition, decoys, chockes, and just wiping skies clean. You’ll love this podcast. There isn’t any out there like this.

Jeremy StreuYear around hunter. It’s nice to know that there’s such a large crowd out there that bleeds waterfowl hunting like I do. Always good insight, knowledge, and all around good conversations. From product reviews to interviews with some of the best names in the industry there’s always something to talk about and listen to. The last show really hit home, I caught myself blowing my call the other day on my way to work wishing it was September here (northern Wisconsin) and early goose and teal was opening, after it’s been nearly 3 months since I’ve sat in the blind, and little did I know the next discussion I’d hear was about the year around hunter. It’s nice to know that even though I don’t physically waterfowl hunt all year, but that it’s always on my mind, always perfecting the craft, planning, buying and looking forward to the next season. I tune in almost every week, the conversations are always great and insightful, there’s not another waterfowl podcast out there quit like HPs. Keep up the good work guys!
-
Bishopp3Easily listeningThe sweet, buttery tones of Josh Palm and Dan Hruska’s voices sooth the post season blues. Long enough to entertain you, short enough to keep your attention. Great guests and tips. Keep up the good work fellas.

Cube monkeySponsors taking overBeen listening since the first few episodes and the podcast seems to be turning into a big commercial. The guys started as regular joe waterfowlers and now do a lot of pushing products and outfitters.

-
Paleo BradGood for new and experiencedThis is a great discussion of waterfowl hunting by real people. Normal guys talking hunting, dogs, equipment, safety, tactics, etc. Josh and Dan have built a great community of followers.
-
Nick MacriDiggn itI’m way behind. Only on episode 5. Not sure if you guys do it in future shows, but I love to hear some stuff about waterfowl hunting in the legendary bite sink of Northern California. Yes California! Show you’re like steers it’s not a lost cause libtard state but a rich legacy of high dollar duck clubs and epic rice blinds. Iv been hunting most of my short life in California and am still learning, who isn’t you’re a fool if you think you got it down. I wanna hear from some of the pros in California like people out of Sutter Basin calls. Hear how you set up for judge grinds of snow geese over flooded rice. Love you’re show guys keep it up.
-
DfettyBest Waterfowl PodcastI’ve learned so much from this podcast. Four seasons ago so was a newbie and HP has been my #1 resource for everything along the way. Decoy spreads, scouting tips, shot selection, gear recommendations, and interesting interviews. Can’t recommend this podcast enough.
-
zboogie22Great podcastI listen to this podcast when I’m out in the wearhouse and I’m in year 2 of water fowl hunting . So this podcast really opens my eyes to new tricks and tactics to use out on the lake. After listening to this podcast my duck hunting has improved tremendously. I recommend this to any new and veteran hunter!
