The merit of this show is how it mirrors the agony of the passage of time.

Within a couple of days of finishing their review (which I did in a matter of a couple/few weeks) on a walk I saw someone in their garage home theater watching none other than Grown Ups 2. I’ve never seen the movie but apparently I know it well enough to clock it with only a few moments of the dance recital scene. Not a super power I would have wished for but I suppose one I have none the less.

Tim and Guy are NZ national treasures. To this day I write a shining light section in my journal. You’ve rewired my brain and I thank you for it. My week with Cats should be given an award for performance art. Incredible podcasting, and a hilarious descent into madness. You guys suffer for your art and I thank you with five stars.

Used to love this show but they really don’t put in the effort they used to. Should two men drive themselves insane for a podcast? No. But when it’s the whole gimmick of the show, and they barely deal with the subject material and instead talk just about anything else and before you know it they’re at an unjustified shining light.. it just feels like I’m wasting my time. Shining light was the thing that got them through the watch, now it seems like they’re not the slightest connected to the material. The depths I learned of the coffee shop guy in season 2, they’ll never reach those heights again if they keep this up. Love you guys, but you’ve lost your way. Pay more attention. Dom needs you.

I started up this podcast as I am now in the middle of wedding planning, two weeks from the big day. Hearing these silly boys talk about a horrible movie and slowly go mad as a result has been just the kind of harmless, low stakes, self inflicted mental slapstick I need to unwind after putting myself through the mental anguish of planning such a daunting event. At time of writing I am listening to sex in the city 2 episode 39, wherein they perform the entire episode in a “Louisiana accent.” As a lifelong resident of the American south I just want to say, Tim, Guy, if you’re reading this, that was not a southern accent. Somehow it was EVERY southern accent, from Appalachian to creole to Texan, while occasionally drifting into cockney and robot voice as well. It made me laugh more than I have in months. I will also say that listening to an almost 10 year old show reminds me of how simple life was back in 2015. A time where we had so few problems that we had to make new ones, like watching a terrible movie every week for a year.

Nothing quite like listening to two surprisingly insightful Kiwi lads just absolutely lose their minds while subjecting themselves to what has to be a form of torture.

It may be The Worst Idea of All Time, but these two are the best boys of all time.

I started listening to this over a series of depressive episodes and season 2 has become an extremely comforting presence. The podcast overall and season 2 specifically has is problematic moments but overall it’s so comfortable and welcoming I definitely recommend it. A massive thank you to the boys for hurting themselves with movies for our amusement, you’ve helped me through some dark spots and I appreciate y’all’s sacrifice.

Honestly very funny, but it’s also interesting hearing the process. The guys really go through a lot through the year and it’s like watching someone go through the stages of grief listening to them do this, which I find really interesting.

You guys are absolute goblins for putting yourself through two human years on earth full of the Sex and the City franchise. Adam Sandler I can forgive. Zac Efron I get it. But guys. GUYS? Straight to jail. I’ve listened to every season twice five stars I hate you.

The moment I saw the updated cover art for My Week With Cats I had to stifle a snort-laugh at work. Little did I know that the entire prrrrrrreamble and first episode would have me faking a cough to cover how hard I was laughing aloud (to the concern of all my coworkers)! Jellicle Fellas, I’m so glad you’re back. You made my Monday as fun as a romp with the Railway Cat himself!

Death Blart brought me here and I’m happy to say I have not been disappointed. Tim and Guy are hilarious and the episodes are the perfect length so that catching up doesn’t feel overwhelming. Y’all should give these bois a chance. 🤙

Heck of a podcast, it’s an epic journey listening to the boys watch the same film until their minds begin to erode. It would definitely be classified as torture by the CIA, but it’s a fun listen, so who cares? Whenever I listen it makes my day a little better because these are two funny dudes.

I’d give this podcast 6 out of 5 stars if I could. The fact that Tim and Guy can take their self inflicted torture and transform it into something so hilarious is a tribute to their talent, optimism, and endless charm.

These boys show what it's like to be friends and to make poor decisions. I appreciate how Tim and Guy always keep it real, despite being trapped in an artificial media prision of their own creation.

What is wrong with me that I listened to BOTH DirComs (5 hours) of season 4? At first I was worried about the psychological health of Guy and Tim...but now I realize that I am the one with significant issues. What does it say about me for having been a witness to this horror? Shame on me. 5 stars!

Tim and Guy create a tapestry of language that would make William Shakespeare (himself) recoil into the corner, and weep, for he will have finally seen what true mastery of the English language is, and he will know that he will never be able to contend with the genius of these two nimble Kiwis.
