Great podcast mostly with a light sprinkle of hard left thoughts
Been a Patreon member for years and listened even longer, but the random hard left discussion points and extreme Trump hate are making it hard to listen to. 5 star if they stop the politics or if you are a lefty.
  • Sinizar360
We don’t care about your political preference
I don’t care what side you’re on nobody wants to hear about politics when wanting to hear about video games unless the game is about politics. If I want to hear about politics I will listen to a podcast about politics. Also you don’t have to announce every episode why you left X aka Twitter. We get it you’re on Blue Sky, that explains enough. Just say how people can reach you or see your messages. Every video game podcast has started doing this and it’s super annoying, it’s like Hollywood a-listers that think their political opinion matters. It doesn’t and we wanted to hear about your movie or TV show not all the politics. We get enough of that in our daily lives, we want to check out and be entertained. “Are you not entertained?” No, we’re not cause you keep forcing politics down our throat. Otherwise in between all the political garbage this is a good show with good people.

    Absolute rubbish now
Was a great podcast until hosts radical left wing politics ruined it. Good luck with all the inane medical interventions…

    Shows changing
Long time listener from the very beginning. Over the last year or so the show has gotten too influenced by politics and social issues, with story of the week focused on related news and taking a larger chunk of most episodes. It used to be more about the games. Maybe hosts are at a stage of life where they don’t have as much time for games and their priorities on what’s important has changed.

    Depressing Layoff Commentary
Love the show and the people who make it. However, for over a year now a majority of each episode, the Story of the Week, has been dedicated to bad news. It is too much. Please talk more about games. Thank you.

Not Just For Video Game Fans
DLC is my go to podcast when I’m taking a walk with my dog, driving in the car or just need to relax. I don’t game too often but there is something about their great chemistry and positive attitude that keeps me coming back. As a podcast producer myself, I can tell that a lot of effort goes into the production of each episode and it shows. It is definitely a step above. Keep killing it Jeff and Christian.

    a pod gone wrong
DLC has given me many laughs, emotional moments, and has been a reliable source of news. Unfortunately, recent episodes have focused too much on shovelware.

    Parasocial gaming comfort food
The main show is a great mix of insight, banter, perennially solid guests, and Christian and Jeff have a good sense of when to stick to the program and when to let things go off the rails for a little bit in the name of a good conversation. Lana is an indispensable addition to the Wednesday show and the book club, they put out a ton of bonus content, and having kept the show in my feed for years at this point, it’s like hanging out with old friends for literal hours week.

    Excellent gaming podcast
I stumbled upon DLC after most of the gaming podcasts I listened to chose not to discuss or even acknowledge Hogwarts Legacy at all. I was pleasantly surprised to find this podcast that not only had a good faith discussion on the game, while acknowledges the controversy, but also turned out to be an honest to goodness video game podcast.

    Best Video Game Show Around
Lively and fun show about video games. Funny conversations and interesting content. End of year show is one of my favorites where they see if last year’s predictions came true, sometimes correct and other times way off. All good fun.

    A Review of "DLC"
I had found certain parts of what I had believed to had been this "DLC" to had been vulgar, unnecessary, negative, and detrimental (specifically certain words or phrases (including at least one word or phrase often used as a form of profanity)).

    The best video game podcast
I’ve been a listener for over five years now and wholeheartedly recommend this podcast to any games enthusiast. Jeff and Christian bring such verve, enthusiasm, wit, and intelligence to the show every single week. Not to mention that they get the best guests on every single show. So happy that Lana is now a regular presence on the show. I’ve discovered so many great games just through their recommendations and would be lost without them. Keep up the amazing work!

One of my Two favorite game cast
Love Jeff and Christian’s energy and thoughtful analysis. They play off each other well and always have on an interesting guess to provide a different perspective. This is my Monday morning work podcast to keep my energy up. Right up there with the Kinda Funny and The Besties as my favorite people who talk about games. More tabletop time please!

    Clueless about gaming
These guys think having FakeBook completely take over gaming and VR is great because “they are throwing money” developers. No, they are making titles exclusive behind their data mining machine so they can target and track you with an HMD, people like this trying to influence listeners to think companies like Meta are good for gaming don’t need to be supported. I’m unfollowing this podcast.
  • mbcauley
Super fun and in depth listen about the latest in video gaming
I always enjoy listening to DLC. I love the format of top news stories, what we’ve been playing, and then following it up with a variety of topics from VR to board gaming. If you like video games this is a really fun one to listen to. I like the variety from discusses important news stories in the gaming world to hearing about hidden indie gems or in depth reviews of bigger games. Not only are Jeff and Christian awesome hosts but they always bring on interesting guests that add to the conversation and bring differing viewpoints. Highly recommend!

    My favorite
I subscribed to tons of gaming podcasts, but never had time to listen to them all. So I culled them all down, and this is the survivor. Humor, energy, positivity. I look forward to each new ep.

    A delight every week!
Easily one of the most entertaining and consistent podcasts in the gaming space. Jeff and Christian are fantastic hosts with enduring chemistry. Listening to DLC every Monday ( and sometimes once again during the week ) is easily a highlight of my week. They really know how to make the listener feel like a friend. DLC is a stellar source for gaming news and opinions that I hope lives on for many many more years.
  • Beebopboob
    Jeff is too extra
Gave this show a shot, in particular their best game episode and immediately within 5 minutes I had to turn it off due to Jeff’s constant voice volume changes and his overall just being too “extra”. No thanks

It’s hard to keep up with all the games these days being 40 with 2 young daughters. You guys do great work providing news, reviews and great suggestions with all the new and old games. You guys do great work, wish nothing but the best! Thank you!

    5 stars
Started listening to weekend confirmed in 2010 and then this in 2014. Stopped listening after their leftist political views suffocated the enjoyment out of the show. These two either don’t care or are oblivious to the idea that maybe they’re being offensive to those with opposing political views. I don’t care about your politics. The point of these shows is to be informed about the latest video games and to escape from real world issues. But these two guys (and most in this industry) really went down the rabbit hole of dissing others. It’s unfortunate because they sound like good guys. Nothing bad to say about them. Wish them well. It’s just unfortunate to alienate others.

    Destiny review
Jeff is great, even when I disagree with him, his opinions are well thought out and fair. Christian is like a child on so many of his reviews. He sounds so much like the biased fanboys except he is twice as condescending when others don't agree with him. So tired of his elitist rants... Considering unsubscribing. Update: I can’t believe Christian is still on this show. I listened to an episode after unsubscribing for a couple years… this show has so much potential but I guess I’m the only one that is annoyed by Christian.

DLC is genuinely my favorite podcast
Even when life is hard I know I can look forward to spending time with Jeff and Christian each week. They are so personable and the longer you listen to the podcast, the more they feel like great personal friends. I came for the gaming chat, but stayed for their earnestness, honesty and positivity. I hope they continue the podcast for many years to come.

UPDATE 20118- Don't Love the Content (DLC)
Be careful when Brock Wilbur is a guest and listening with children. Need to change the label to mature audiences. I used to look forward to this podcast showing up in my feed each week but lately I have enjoyed it less and less. I always thought Jeff was a genuinely nice guy but now I think he is showing his true colors. He comes across as angry and condecsending and if you disagree with him then you are an idiot. I have listened to him since the TRS days and now I am begining to think that Dan must have had a calming influence on him. It also appears that Jeff might be getting paid to support a particular opinion at times because he seems fake, almost like he is playing a part. Maybe he is just trying to bring in advertisers but he is losing fans.

    Not worth a listen
Really gone downhill the last year or so. The 2 hosts sound like they’re sort of over it, the main host mostly only ever talks about VR, the 2nd host literally does paid work for Sony (official last of us 2 podcast) so how honest can they really be? Also the rotating guest hosts lately (at time of this review) have been friends or related to their other podcasts and have rarely been women in the industry.
  • docadam23
    Best gaming podcast
Jeff and Christians enthusiasm is infectious. You'll learn about games you would have never heard of, or considered playing. Rotating guest keeps it fresh, as well as the occasional board game discussion.
  • RedManofMars
    Credibility Gap
Podcast jumped shark with the hosts making two of the most insanely bad takes in recent memory. RE: Christian (dad-joke Spicer) claims “he loved every second” of The Last of Us 2. Wow—I guess one-note ultra violence that’s not fun to play is his thing. And then Canatta tweets (paraphrase) “when all games are John Wick, TLOU2 is Schindler’s List.” No kidding. He said that—all games are equivalent to John Wick, and TLOU2 is a “masterpiece.”

  • dhfusion
    My favorite gaming podcast
Listening to Jeff and Christian is like hanging out with a couple of good friends each week to talk about games and the gaming industry. Jeff exudes optimism, which is a welcome breath of fresh air compared to similar podcasts. I love that they cover all gaming types - console, PC, VR, and boardgames. Although their episodes sometimes approach 2 hours in length, they seem to fly by. (Unlike several other podcasts that go on for the same length of time and feel like they are never going to end.). The quality of their production is also strong. This easily in the top five of all the podcasts I listen to and I look forward to a new posting each week.

Love the show, talks about COVID-19 WAAAY too much.
You two have an amazing show and I’ve been tuning in for quiet some time! LOVE the format you guys have, and “Story of the Week” beat is 🔥🔥🔥. Understand that we’re living in different and maybe it a way for you two to cope with COVID-19, but people listen to you for everything video games, and not a reminder about what we have to hear everyday. People are dealing with it their own way. It’s your show so you can do whatever you want! Looking forward to future episodes, but taking a break until the COVID settles down! Love what you guys are doing and looking forward to coming back at some point in the future!

    Come for the Spice-Man!...
A show that is brimming with positivity. Christian and Jeff constantly try to bring new or interesting voices to the show that differ from their own. It is a show about enjoying each other and games in a way that is refreshing against the constant cynicism. I also appreciate that they are not afraid to confront political issues when they intersect. We don’t live in a vacuum and I appreciate them wearing their hearts on their sleeves and want the world to be a better place.
