Jeff from DaytonA gemI love the Geekwire podcast but the technocapitalism episode was awful. Full of hyperbole, some facts wrong, just terrible.

Al mullinsRelevant and greatThoroughly impressed by each episode of the GeekWire Podcast. zorbadgreekPretty good, but not exceptionalGeekwire is the main tech journalism platform in Seattle. The reporting is solid. This podcast is above average but nothing exceptional. If you’re looking for information only, reading the articles online will do you fine. If you want some banter about them, this podcast will also do fine. However, the podcast is too short to go into any real depth on any one topic. Usually the format is 1) bring up an article headline 2) describe the gist in one minute 3) get the hosts hot take on it 4) repeat 5) end with some random stuff the hosts think is interesting. Not bad at all. Just not all that exceptional.

honest thinkerFar-reaching Opinion BiasThe subject of new Tech is always a major sidetrack; futurist theory can grab my attention from almost any topic of conversation. Geek Wire has, for years, provided a great forum to listen to with super interviews around relevant, timely ideas and gadgets. However, around the 2016 presidential election, the podcast could not be run without continual, subjective opinion about the show's disdain for not only president Trump, but also conservatives and republicans in general. For a little while, I can forgive the hosts/speakers because the whole media machine made disparaging Trump commonplace, but Geek Wire eventually overwhelmed my ability to overlook their own bias. So I had to find other sources of interest and left the show and podcast. I tried to listen again in 2017, but (as it turns out?) their interview with Bill Gates proved they could not present even the simplest ideas without word-bashing Trump and republicans. By they way, Gates was magnanimous and unbiased in his answers, despite the host's leading questions; can the show follow his example? Probably not. I listened to the last podcast and this most recent one... and again, unless one loves liberal/progressive concepts, their bias cannot even try to be neutral throughout the show. The public forum should be held to a higher standard than average water-cooler or locker-room banter. I'm sorry to unsubscribe one last time. I like Todd; he's a comfortable, nice person. I'm sad that he can no longer be trusted to provide an objective focus on being true to the "old culture" of the show's name.

ConcipiaGeekWire is one of my goto news sourcesTodd and John are so well connected in the tech industry I don't have to worry they will waste my time with fluff. The tome is always fun but the information pointed. Their industry analysis is down to earth and realistic. It doesn't get much better than GeekWire!

adrienne10Podcast of the Radio ShowI listened first to Geek Wire because they had organizers from the GeekGirlCon event on. The GeekGirlCon folks advertised this interview, so I subbed to the podcast and had a listen. The interview was pretty fun, interesting, and decently done. I continued to listen to episodes since but did not listen to any back episodes, so overall I have only listened to a handful. Unfortunately, in that handful, I feel like I got the same episode twice. Perhaps it is the repetitiveness of tech news or perhaps there was a publishing mistake. The focus of this geek news is all tech - or at least 98% tech. My husband heard me listening one day and mentioned he reads the Geek Wire blog. His career is currently a tech career and he would most definitely be the targeted audience for this show. I'm not sure I am. I'll keep listening, because a half hour once a week is not much and there are interesting tidbits. It just is not going to be a top of the list podcast for me and if my number of podcasts become too many, will be one of the first to unsubscribe from.
