T.K. ArispeGreat music history podcast for kids and their adultsI learned about Classics for Kids when it played on a classical radio station, and I was thrilled to see an archive of the episodes available for listening any time. I’ve been listening to the podcast with my niece in elementary school, and she really enjoys it, as do I. The host is engaging and does a great job weaving a cohesive narrative within each episode, as well as implementing plenty of samples of the music she’s discussing. I feel that the length of each episode is perfect for the attention spans of most kids, but still manages to pack in a lot of information. I really like that a well-rounded variety of classical artists are talked about and their work highlighted, not just household names like Mozart and Beethoven. Plus, the podcast does a good job leaving out unsavory stuff, so it’s a safe listen for the whole family. Classics for Kids does a great service in introducing young folks to the culture, history, and of course the music of the classical genre. I love being able to help my niece see that there’s so much more to music than pop, and we cherish the time we spend listening to this podcast together.

HdhdjcehxjdjfjcbskajBest composer study tool for homeschool! We love this podcast! What a blessing for our homeschool to learn about composers, and for free! It’s well put together and just the right amount of info for our kids, who span from elementary to high school. Everybody can pick up something from the episodes: it’s not too dumbed down for the older ones or too complex for the younger kids. Thank you so much for this resource!!

Gabi gooseWOW GabiWow I love this so so so much it’s like it’s teaching me and I’m just 10 years old!!!!!

And it is also very calming for some reason that’s why I listen to it every night! I say that is THE BEST podcast ever! And it’s nice to just listen to the music too!! I LOVE it and you will too!!❤️❤️❤️👍🎹🎼🎺🎷🎻🎺🎼🎼🎹🎹

great journal!Error - not able to download the episodesIt’s so weird that we were able to listen to it and recently this is the only podcast that won’t let me download and listen to the episodes. Would love to troubleshoot. Last episode I am able to listen to is from June 2022

Znyk "V"Too advanced for kidsThis is a great biographical series for adults looking to get a quick overview of a composer. For kids (ages 0-8) - this is a ton of densely packed information that goes over their heads. It assumes a level of sophistication in the audience that is more appropriate for an adult such as myself. Overall a good listen, but “Classics for Kids” is a bit of a misnomer.

OnlyBecauseHimNot able to listen anymoreThe podcast was really good and my kids love it! Not sure why, since this past summer, I am no longer able to listen to this podcast. Every time it shows there is new podcast, but it always says the episode is not available when I try to play. Can anyone help? Thanks!

TerriArtisTreeGreat guide for parents to showcase the variety in Classical MusicAs a parent I wanted to introduce my children to music with a bit more intention than the passive listening to music I did growing up. I found this podcast is the Goldilocks amount of information to peak our interest about a variety of different composers. It showcases a variety of talented composers from many different cultures and backgrounds. Their website gives some really simple and practical tools for parents and kids to approach the genre of classical music. Thank you for your generous and hard work.

KentnaRelaxing and InformationalI highly recommend Classics For Kids. It really gives you a lot of information, and it’s fun to listen. It’s relaxing to listen before bed. 10 year old listener

pommeBMore focused would be great!I wish the episodes were a bit longer and more focused on one composer or one piece, so that I could really learn about that particular subject (rather than jumping around a bit). I’d love to know more about the composers lives, and what instrument were used in particular pieces and what inspired the piece. Thanks!!!
-
M3345jjQuestionable ContentI want to love this podcast, but one episode in particular made me question whether I can share it with my children without previewing each episode first. In the episode Robert Schumann 2: Clara Schumann, the podcast host suggests that Clara may have been romantically involved with Johannes Brahms while married to Robert Schumann. This is not appropriate for an audience of children. I love the idea of a podcast introducing classical composers to children, but parents shouldn’t have to worry about inappropriate content being a part of it.

MickyGIf you like Maestro Classics CDs, you’ll like thisMy kids really enjoy this podcast. We enjoy Maestro Classics CDs which mix storytelling and musical portfolios. This is in an NPR sort of way, but is still very nice to listen to. Thank you for producing this podcast. We recommend!

Not a SisterThank youDespite a decent k-12 education, classical music isn’t my hand. Trying not to pass that on to my youngest, who has a natural love of all music. Thank you for being excited and knowledgeable. We’ve been doing a week of composer study each month, mostly by listening to you.
-
Barryfab5Yay for Classics for KidsWe absolutely love this podcast!! It’s such a wonderful way to introduce and enliven your child’s and your own enjoyment of classical music! We found it about 4 years ago and love listening and relistening to them! From ages 5-45 it’s a hit!! Thank you!!

IloveViolinWe love Classics for Kids!We love to listen to Classics for Kids at breakfast time. All my kids enjoy listening, but my oldest two (8 and 6) find is especially interesting and fun. It provides the perfect little taste of different composers and their music. Stories are told in a fun and relatable way for kids, but I also enjoy listening and learning even as an adult. I would recommend this podcast to anyone looking to broaden their taste in music and learn about famous composers.

Auditorially YoursA classical convertThis show has transformed my family’s listening habits and has lead me to enjoy and appreciate the broad swathe of classical music. Now, we listen to classical all the time at home and even in the car. Classics for Kids also introduced to the world of podcasts for kids, which has been a big help in home education. Such a great show—informative, entertaining, and a great listen.
