“Spread the Weird” sums it up nicely!
Do you have a podcast that makes you really happy, stoked and feeling good when it updates with a new episode? That’s what Drabblecast is for me. I will usually pause whatever I am doing in order to listen to this. Many of the stories are the type that burn into one’s brain and can be recalled weeks-years later. If that’s not enough, Norm Sherman has one of the most enjoyable voices I have ever heard. He is to story telling what Robert Plant is to rock music! The best of the best list!

On of the best audio fiction podcasts out there
It seems impossible that I have not written a review for this podcast yet since I’ve been a regular listener for years. However, here we are. I started getting into fiction podcasts around 2015-2016. Since then, I’ve gradually whittled down the number of podcasts I listen to on a regular basis, only focusing on the ones I really like. This podcast always makes the cut. The stories are always bizarre, occasionally funny, occasionally thought provoking, occasionally gory, and always interesting. If that sounds like something you would be interested in, give it a listen. And please consider becoming a Patreon member so this podcast can continue doing its thing for many years to come.

    My favorite podcast, by far.
The other reviews here say it all. I can barely imagine how much time and effort Norm and his crew put in to each episode. The stories are awesome to start with and then they add the sound effects and background music and other details that make the stories come to life in a way that no other podcast does. Norm is a crazy brilliant genius and I hope he eventually produces ten thousand episodes.

    Love it! 💯🔥

    My Favorite Horror/Bizarre Fiction Podcast
If you like Nocturnal Transmissions, Pseudopod, or Campfire Radio Theater then this is the podcast for you. I found this show by accident while searching for something else and I was hooked immediately. I love the music and the humor and the whole vibe of the show really makes the bizarre horror stories that much more unexpected and intense. This show keeps you slightly off-balance in a way that would be nauseating if you had no trust in the creators. Listening to this show is like standing shoulder to shoulder with lifelong friends, kicking rocks into the throat of the abyss. So so SO GOOD! Please give us more!

    A classic
Love Drabble. It’s my go to for anything off the beaten path. A little unreliable lately…

Great programming but publishing is inconsistent
My favorite fiction podcast. Outstanding stories with great production quality. Unfortunately, there are long gaps between posts and the periods are getting longer with each passing month.
  • overphill
Super funny host with outstanding stories
Great stories with a creative / hilarious presentation . One of my all time favorites

    You got me
Been listening for a while, and I just subscribed. This show is not for everyone, but I enjoy Norm Sherman’s sometimes bizarre ranting intros. Stories are definitely weird, eclectic, erratic, and even hit-or-miss, but a few have stuck with me for months. I give it five raised tentacles for me, four on my review because your mileage may vary. If you’re reading this, try it!
  • SteveDave74
    Been slipping for years.
I’ll say it if nobody else will, the focus on female writers has dropped the quality of the stories significantly. I’m rapidly losing interest.

    Superb
Just when I think I have found the prefect podcast for creative, touching, scary, haunting, mind pictures easily imaged by the voice actors , a long comes this site. 5 is not enough stars. 10 out of 10 in every part of the shows offered to us. My favorite by far. having listened every night for over a year to other good podcast, then finding this great creative podcast is truly my secret gem. I jealously share my find in this review with others, just to good to not gift to others.
  • LucienRElEN
    Usually I’m a horror fan
But this podcast introduced a lot of weird fiction, sci-fi, dark fiction that I don’t normally consume, and it’s blend is always engaging.
  • Fishdick69
    Love this show!
The stories are always fun and interesting, the music is great, and I’m always surprised at the 100 word stories and how much they can convey in such few words. Norm and the others are great narrators and every now and then you get treated at the end of the episode with a song.
  • Norbert the Reader
    Always a great listen!
Norm Sherman has a great voice and he picks such ‘interesting’ stories. I’m always happy to see a new episode show up.
  • Funny yum
Delightfully twisted stories , Syfy to HP Lovecraft
Stories are well written and edit it and delivered with great performances. 😜 it’s A delight for the listeners ears and an escape from the reality that we’ve had to go through in 2020 and I’m not just talking about the pandemic. Keep them coming I can read and listen. Working on getting a subscription to audible so I can listen to you and after that birthday present I can start donating to Patreon for your excellent renditions and great pics. I always look forward to the deWebbles🤓 English is my second language. Pardon the mistakes Happy holidays be safe download lots of episodes and keep your phone charged for the next crisis Take care and be well

    Crazy Fun
Norm is more than a little out there, which is what makes these stories so much fun.

    #433
Please reissue, it’s stuck just a few minutes in. Ordinarily this is a five star wonder and will regain that rating from me as soon as I catch their attention
  • Myssiis
    Heck YES
This is the first podcast I ever listened to and still one of my favorites. Norm Sherman has such a smooth calm voice, he’s my favorite narrator of all time. The stories are creative, just the right amount of Lovecraftian Horror flavor to appeal to horror fans as well as sci-fi fans.

    I love Drabblecast. Every Story
Great stories. Great host. Great narration.

The Drabblecast Gives Weird a Good Name.
This podcast is not only excellent, it’s filled with genius and integrity. I mean that’s what Norm is...a weird genius filled with integrity, and the listener feels it in every word! I’m sure the crew is of the same ilk too! The shows are entertaining, thoughtful and they give me great joy! I can’t get over how clever these weirdos are! Enjoy!
  • peryiteinspades
    My favorite podcast
So happy to have Norm and everyone else produce this. That voice, the humor, the creativity are all remarkable. Check out the esoteric order of Sherman if you haven’t, I promise to be my wife’s “filthy gibbering lunatic priest“ everyday

    Love, love this!
I love this podcast and being a strange listener, like myself. There are never enough of these especially since I often need these strange stories instead of ToddlerInChief versions. It's not just for that reason I'm glad Norm didn't die at the end of February, obviously and he brought up a good point: Be an organ donor. I was dx with lymphoma in November and the first thing that really upset me was realizing I can't donate my organs anymore. Register for Norm. Register for me who has been counting on donating for my entire life but now can't. Register because not all organs will be accepted. Do it now. It could be one of your favorite podcast hosts who needs your liver when you're done with it.

    Forevermore
This podcast is the reason I first really got interested in podcasts and why I keep coming back for more. “Clown Eggs” and “Charlie the Purple Giraffe was Acting Strangely” are just some of my favorites. Episodes can vary in content from horror, sci-fi, fantasy, or just plain weird. And each creation is a work of pure undulating love.
  • Unhappy bday wisher
    The best podcast ever
I’ve been listening to this podcast forever.. even when you guys took a break.. I would RE listen between old podcast and Norm Sherman’s albums ... which are also 5stars.. love your work
  • Opal Castmin
    Lots of fun weird fiction!
And their version of "The Whisperer in Darkness" was outstanding. Good audio and good readings.
  • Dr. Roboculous
I like the stories that aren’t comedy better
I love Lovecraft Month. I’ve been listening to this podcast mostly for Lovecraft Month since 2013. And i appreciate how they honor the author’s work while still acknowledging the racism of the man himself. I also enjoy the original Lovecraft-esque stories that fill out the rest of the yearly event. Not to say that the other stories the rest of the year aren’t any good, they’re just mostly too comedic for my personal taste in horror/sci-fi fiction.
  • KarateDadJr
    Great podcast but...
I wish the host would speak slower as I usually listen to the podcast at .5 speed but would love to listen to at .05 speed to cleanse my sinuses. Thank you for reading my suggestion.
  • Kornmom5
    GREAT PODCAST AND
Best trailer ever!!! Where do you guys get all this great fiction!?! Vagaries and high quality. Love this podcast. Subscribe. Now.

This podcast is strange and so are you
If I could bring only one podcast for company when I am exiled to the plane of bones and undying, it would be this one. It deserves it.
  • rynopye
    Such a amazing podcast!!!
I have recently found this podcast and have started from episode 1. I love that it’s generated from the listeners stories, I myself am a writer/ musician and make these type of audio stories. Finding this podcasts lit a new fire in me and has been a huge inspiration. I’ll soon be submitting my first stories and a idea for the whole community. Everyone should listen and support the drabblecast team.they are top notch and deserve all the praise and credit for the hard work. Thanks Drabble cast team and all the writers who have shared their stories!!

    Glad it’s back
I never thought it would happen, but the podcast came back from the grave and is amazing!
  • nevskygirl
    So weird. So wonderful.
I’ve been listening to this podcast one and off since 2014. It is the BEST and I always end up coming back for more. Love you, Norm - once I pay off my loans, the first thing I’m gonna do is donate to you guys!

    Worth your time!
Being a “weird fiction” podcast, I can guarantee that The Drabblecast won’t be to everyone’s taste, and even as a fan not every episode strikes a chord with me. But the vast majority of episodes really resound with me and leave me thinking about them days later. Plus, the excellent sound design and narration highly enhances the listening experience! To top it all off, Norm’s introductions and commentary are consistently hilarious and thoughtful. I promise you that you will it get an experience like The Drabblecast anywhere else!

Norm, you beautifully maniacal bastard! I would give ten stars if I could. I literally laugh out loud, or cringe as the case may be, at your intros and holiday bits. Yes Norm, I’m mad about your bits! Kudos to all involved in bringing the Drabblecast to us strange and just not right listeners.
  • JuneBJones
    I’m home!
Strange stories? From strange authors? For strange listeners? That’s music to my ears! I’m only a dozen or so episodes in and I’m home. I knew I’d struck gold when Norm signed off, addressing the audience as weirdos. (That’s my pet name for my kids) This is high quality, fun, often dark, fantasmagorical sci-fi good times.
  • tjstrat
    Episode 334
Worth it for Norm’s unhinged introduction alone.
  • Narbolager1000
    I’m glad you’re back!
Arguably the best audio fiction shows of the last decade, there’s something here for everyone, and everything here for someone. I’m glad you’re back Norm, we love you.
  • WL_Cell
I kind of have mixed feelings.
On the episodes where there a simple travels from the long list of wonderful authors that of one awards I have to say this is probably one of my favorite podcasts. I’ve personally connected with many of the stories and could feel the emotion the author describes. Some episodes however, almost seems somewhat random. They’re still good but still somewhat random.
  • Dokk911
    Holy Cow!
Not a huge fan of leaving reviews but...that Directors cut “The Worm Within” forced my hand. I was appalled and flustered and laughing so hard I had to keep pausing the episode... You have to understand I lost a perfectly good pair of pants that night and my wife was not happy! ....Thank you!
  • NoëlTyson
    AMAZING!
I love this podcast, and the revamped new episode for Halloween 2018 is absolutely hilarious and AMAZING! Great job!!’
  • Firefly3172
    Something for everyone!
I have been listening to The Drabblecast since before its was cool. Oh wait, I'm not sure it is. Anyway, the stories are great. Everytime I listen, there's always something new that makes me think "I think so-and-so (friends or family-members) will love that story. There's silly stuff for the kids (or kids-at-heart), stuff to pull at your heart-strings, even thought-provoking items for folks who think stories should have greater meanings than love-lorn unicorns or giant pimples.

In a pond full of ‘fish’ Drabblecast is King Koi

    ElRon was right
As the king of the internet and worlds most renowned authority on awesomeness, I pronounce The Drabblecast as winner of inter web words and hereby knight NormSherman the wordsmitiest of oratory negotiators granting him a free pass on being devoured by that which waits, just behind you. ~OverLord Xenia

So well done, smart, perfect production
I'm so glad it's back! Long live Drabblecast! If you give it a try , you'll be glad. Nearly perfect. Love Norm.
  • Mo Light
    Extraordinary Excellence in Every Category
Norm and The Drabblecast mobbe expertly nail the thousands of subtleties required to pull off a ferociously addictive production of a delightful diversity of straight weird fiction, sourcing from the giants of yore to the hot properties of today, with a sprinkling of obvious interdimensional authors who evidently get off on messing with humans, and somehow obtained Norm's contact information.
  • JBrentMac
    So glad you’re back!
I discovered this podcast about they went on hiatus and almost panicked when they left us hanging in the middle of a Lovecraft month. I binged through the available episodes on Apple podcasts, Drabblecast archives, Drabble classics, and dribblecast and was about to panic again when the announcement of the relaunch came and pulled me away from the ledge. The stories are usually amazing and always entertaining but it is the cleverness and creativity of host Norm Sherman that really makes me love this podcast. His cynical humor and dry delivery are the perfect compliment to the weird content of these stories and drabbles.

    THE Gem of WierdFic Podcasts
They told me I had to say that. Now I just have a second while they grab another one of us, then throw me back in the well. They can’t write because they don’t have fingers or eyes, or heads even, the way we think of heads. So they make us write these reviews, although they only bother to read the titles. I think something happened to Norm and the crew. I don’t know what. They opened the wrong book, the wrong portal. They saw something they shouldn’t have seen. And they had to go away. Now they’re back? No. It’s not that simple. Something’s different. They’ve changed. They’ve BEEN changed. Maybe by these things that are keeping us here. Maybe Norm IS one of those things! We all knew he was flying to close to the sun, meddling with forces we do not speak of. Was it the book? The trip to the woods? That weird bus? I don’t know. All I know is that I spend my days fighting the madness. And writing reviews. The madness is winning. Norm, if it’s still you in there, help us! But if you really have become one of those things, then hey, great podcast, bro!

    Enjoy the weirdness.
Exceptionally useful podcast. I played it for my young children to explain the life cycle of clowns as well as other mysteries.
