My heart goes out to you…
You are an excellent podcaster and I want to thank you for sharing you and your family’s story. And thank you to each of your family members sharing their hearts and pain as well. I could feel your frustrations and sadness and I will continue to pray that your sister is found. Also lifting up your family in prayer. I think that it’s true what is said about people not understanding what certain traumas do to us until they have walked the same walk so they can be insensitive, but once a person has, it’s humbling. So, well done on this podcast, I agree that your sister would most likely be proud and deeply touched by your continued search, and again, thank you.

A family in denial about enabling
I found this difficult to listen to - slow, rambly and a family in deep denial about how they enabled a spoiled (perpetual) college student. Sister is a character witness for her sister who steals and commits credit card fraud, but excuses it as an eating disorder. Cool Dad buys his college daughter alcohol and buys her a new car that she drives drunk and crashes, he doesn’t care and says the $500 is “no big deal.” Tons of burning drama with her boyfriend, yawn. A woman who was babied by her family and likely drove drunk one last time. Thank god she didn’t hurt anyone on her way out.

    Maura Murray Missing
I don’t recall when I first heard the story about when Maura Murray went missing but it stuck with me. Julia is doing a great job keeping her sister’s case active. I pray that you find your sister someday soon. I am close to my siblings and I can’t begin to imagine how horrible it would be to have one go missing and have so few answers. Stay strong and ignore the trashy people.

    Excellent and heartbreaking
This is one of the best podcasts I have ever listened to. The interviews with Maura’s family and friends are riveting and heartbreaking. Kudos to her sister and family to put the facts out there. I think there has been sloppy and/or shady police work in this case. So sad. I hope this podcast leads to the truth. Also, Fred you are amazing.

    Boring
This case has been done by hundreds, probably of podcast in the last decade or more. Uninteresting and boring. And I feel strongly, as painful as it may sound, that it’s pretty fairly obvious what happened to Maura Murray. She was driving drunk, got caught and took off and fled into the woods. Bottom line.

    Awesome !!
One of the best produced True Crime podcast I’ve ever gave a listen too !! Julie with her passion , zeal really draws the listener into the case !! Also the background music - noises are fabulous really has the listener sitting there present in each scene ! For example I felt like I was in that car waiting with Julie as her dad says you coming!! Amazing ! I know Julie’s Maura’s sister and maybe that’s the difference , but I’d listen to her engaging voice talk about the weather she’s that good !!

    So, so good!
This is an amazing listen. Julie Murray humanizes her sister and her family in a way that is so needed and so refreshing. She was able to bring Maura to life in a whole new way that should guide every podcaster, true crime reporter or journalist moving forward.

    MUST LISTEN!
Extremely well done. Fred Murray is an absolutely class act. You’ll wish this was your own family - not in the sense that you wish for this tragedy upon yourself but in the sense that you will admire their dedication, Love and support for each other. And most importantly dedication to uncovering what happened to Maura. This message here is very victim-centered with Julie always bringing it back to Maura, where is Maura? Stop reading and consuming any other junk about this case on the internet. This is the information about the case that you need, if you’ve been following Maura’s story or if you’ve just heard about it. Well done Julie. You have done your sister proud by sticking to the facts, not speculating and teaching us all about engaging with empathy and compassion.

    So well done
I was familiar with this story but the host did a beautiful job of really painting a full picture of Maura’s life and disappearance. It felt honest, meticulous, and heart wrenching. I hope this helps the family get closer to the truth of what happened.

    Beautiful tribute
This is not a podcast with scary music and bloody details. This is an intelligently, lovingly crafted tribute to a sister. Highly highly recommend. I’m so frustrated with the mystery. Someone knows what happened to Maura. My heart aches for this family.

    A podcast about denial
As someone who has lost friends and family to suicide and substances, and a suicide survivor myself, I’ve seen how far people who love them will go to deny the reality of what actually happened. But creating a podcast to justify that denial is next level. Usually it sounds like ‘they would never, they never seemed depressed… it’s not something they ever talked about, etc…’. This podcast is an entire series acknowledging obvious signs of a serious mental health crisis, and then still refusing to accept it. Trying to find blame everywhere and anywhere else does not help the grieving process, and it feels incredibly selfish. Trying to reason through her actions as if she had a “plan” is only going to drive you crazy. When someone is in a cycle of self destructive behavior nothing is rational, decisions are impulsive, and nobody else will understand. I hope your family can find a way to accept that. But I don’t think this podcast is it. Decent production value though.

    Family is Everything!
I cried during some episodes because I have four sisters and can’t imagine going through this if it was one of my sisters. I had never heard of this story but once I started listening, I was hooked! I hope and pray it is solved soon. Thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing your experiences with us. 🙏🏼💓

    More?
I followed this case from the beginning. Something happened to her, not by choice and why law enforcement didn't get more involved in the beginning is still so shocking. I'd love to know more about how your family actually lived their life during this time? How did you work? How did you fall in love? How did you go on with your day today because I can hear it in your voices that she was with you every day. I can almost imagine each of you that the minute you experienced a happy moment might have turned it into a sad moment because you thought instantly oh no, Maura is never going to be able to experience something like this. Please keep podcasting. Please keep talking about her. Please keep telling us your stories from the years of searching. Maura"s name is known far and wide. Let's keep it this way till she's found.

For Education and Understanding, not for Entertainment
This is another rare gem of a podcast that everyone working in the “True Crime” genre and everyone that is interested in true crime should listen to. Crime is real and it affects not only the victim, but the victim’s family, friends, co-workers, etc, with a ripple effect that lasts forever. Julie is a “Shero” for doing this podcast. Prayers to ya’ll.

    Family Perspective
Several years ago I lheard my first true crime podcast. I quickly realize that the true crime genre was not for me because so many of the stories were guised as wanting to help but seemed exploitative and I couldn't help but wonder what the families thought or felt. One of the few that I listen to during this time was Maura's story. I found that there were things in the podcast that didn't make sense to be included or there were things that were reported that didn't seem quite right to me. I found her sister's Tik Tok page later and started following her. I don't want to say that I enjoyed the podcast because it sounds terrible to say. Someone else is pain should never be my entertainment . I did find that it was well done and I think more importantly it illustrated how out of context facts were twisted and used. I also found that many of the questions that I had were answered during this podcast and made perfect sense. I hope that you will get your answers sooner rather than later.
  • PaperElation
    Evokes tremendous empathy
This podcast is so authentic as it is the family speaking about their experience. I am hugely interested in true crime but I am extremely selective about what I will listen to as I don’t want to support voyeurism or sensationalism. This podcast reminds us of the human beings at the heart of the story, for whom we should feel nothing but empathy. I haven’t heard about the negativity slung at the family through the years, but just the thought is utterly despicable. My heart goes out to the family and I hope you will get the answers you need to find peace.
  • ch0734
    Bias and drawn out.
I was excited about this podcast because of the reviews but this was so drawn out and very bias which wasnt surprising since a family member is telling her story. Would have been interesting to hear more about the hit and run theory and she intentionally omitted the timeline of Maura’s pizza calls and that hit and run. Also mauras friend mentioned she was sleeping after leaving the party the night before she goes missing and it was insinuated that this friend was lying and not providing their family with anymore information. But she was sleeping…. So how could she? This podcast is not about the case of missing Maura Murray but a story of her life. Not many facts dove into but wish this family the best.

    Incredible
Thank you for sharing your stories with us all to provide background information in order to find your sister, Maura. I’m sad to see people speaking so poorly about this podcast. This is not just some true crime story for entertainment. This is someone’s life. I will continue praying for your family and hoping for justice for all of you, and most of all, Maura.

    Great job.
Like many, I have already listen to many Maura Murray podcasts. This one was still worth the listen! I did learn a few new things, but mostly it’s nice to hear things from the perspective of those living through everything. I sincerely hope that the message emphasized in this podcast, i. e. that most folks who face relentless criticism and mockery on social media are actually not monsters. Nope; just regular humans trying to do right yet making mistakes along the way. If this digital age generation hopes to survive and thrive rather than descend into madness, then let us remember that 9x out of 10, kindness and understanding is more useful than blame and hostility.

    Five stars
I have not been able to get Maura Murray off my mind since the very first time I heard about her case. I fully support getting the word out about her from those who loved her most! I pray for answers/ justice someday!

    Mixed feelings
The podcast is well done and heartfelt. I really enjoyed it. Credit to Julia who narrates it for discussing such a personal story. She is reading from a script and it is uncomfortably obvious. Not everyone can read a script with the nuances that feel like a conversation versus the robotic sound of a reader. So be prepared that the reading is very robotic at times but have compassion as this is a difficult thing to do. A different reader would make this a solid 5 star

    Heartfelt Story
I have heard this story many times. I’ll admit it fascinates me. Yet, Julie’s telling was so much deeper, so much more compelling, than any of the many retellings in the public domain. This podcast humanized Maura. I don’t understand how anyone could criticize your family’s dedication to gaining some shred of peace. I have long admired Frank’s dogged search for Maura. You are lucky to have a father who loves his children so much.

    What was needed
Thank you for this. Listening really humanized Maura and was the first time the loss of her actually broke my heart. She’s always been just a story to me but now she’s so much more. You have such a strong family and I hope you have answers one day.

    Well executed but dragged on
They did a very good job with the flow and visionary. They could have just done this in 4 episodes but lasted 8.

    Follow the red hearing
Not a good version of a unbiased look at this case. Just more of the family trying to hide this poor victim’s severe mental health issues and cries for help and trying to prove they are a perfect family. False narratives all over this podcast, the family continues to take advantage of the facts not being released, due to the open investigation, and make up any allegation against Law Enforcement and tell any hillbilly rumor they can. Bringing up dead officer McKay, killed in the line of duty, was tasteless and a true show of this family’s character. This was a perfect storm that included several bad decisions on the victim’s part (driving in a state her license was suspended), said series of poor decisions lead to a perfect opportunity for a predator.

Is this really about the case?
If your interested in Maura’s sister, enjoy.

    Not bad
The beginning of the podcast, although I understand, it’s just more about her family and her growing up! I don’t really necessarily want to hear that, I want to hear about the disappearance and everything! So I respect it, but I skipped most of the first episode, I don’t want to hear about her growing up and winning turkeys I wanna hear about the disappearance! I want to hear about finding her safe one day.

I pray the Murray Family gets the answers they so deserve
I’ve have followed this case for basically my entire life. I was a freshman in HS the first time I heard about it. I remember the first time I heard Fred Murray talk about his daughter on television and his emotion brought me to tears. I just saw a dad desperate to find his daughter, who he clearly loved more than anything. My heart was and is broken for him. I’ve seen probably every tv special out there on Maura’s disappearance and most every single one left me with a bad taste in my mouth afterwards. Often times it just seemed like it as more about entertaining the public, than it was about finding Maura. So when I heard this podcast was created by her family I was all in! After bingeing the entire thing I was left so touched and even more heartbroken for the entire Murray family. They deserve to know what happened to Maura. They deserve those answers and I can only imagine the pain and anguish they all feel every single day they don’t get those answers. It’s so cruel, I don’t even have the right words to express the cruelty! The torture this must be for them! All these years! I say a prayer for this family every single day, and I won’t ever stop. I pray they find answers, I pray they find Maura, I pray that one day they can find some kind of peace. They really do deserve it. This podcast so was well put together, and so very thoughtful. Almost like a love letter to their Maura. I will share it with everyone I know.

You must listen to this podcast.
I have been following Maura’s case for years. I can’t believe how quick I was to believe the media’s narratives. Julie Murray is a phenomenal speaker. You can hear her love for her sister and her determination to find out what happened to her. The new perspective and truth is jaw dropping. Maura’s siblings and her dad are so authentic and raw. I love hearing about Maura as a person and my gosh she is so lucky to be a part of such a loving family.

    Thank you.
Thank you for being so brave and telling your family’s story. I can only hope we can all get closure to what happened to this wonderful young woman in the near future.

    Thank you for the truth
As a TC podcast consumer, I listen to connect with the families. The injustice of law enforcement choosing to look away in cases like Maura is infuriating. I can’t imagine the pain these families go through. I will always choose the words of family over the salaciousness of random podcasters. Julie, (I have a sister named Julie too) I thank you for sharing Maura with us. Thank you for sharing your family. We won’t let go of this until she’s found. Sending peace to your precious dad and family.

Hats off to both of these amazing women
I Have followed Maura case since discovering the podcast medium nearly a decade ago. I applaud Ms Murray’s courage and dedication to here family. In a positive and intelligent way she’s has shed a light on Maura and her family and invalidated the insane amount of misinformation surrounding Maura’s disappearance. And corrected many misconceptions that have formed in my understanding of the case. I was not surprised to hear Sarah Turneys name in the credits. The fact that she was Involved in the production only reminded what a warrior she is. Thanks again for this eye opening podcast which has changed my perspective in Regards to true crime media as a whole and Maura’s case at the same time.

    Heart wrenching, intimate & thorough
I knew there was a reason I hadn’t listened/read a single thing about Maura. There is so much out there I didn’t know where to start. I’m glad I waited. For the NEGATIVE reviewers: Your ignorance, narrow mindedness & lack of insight are showing. Seriously who writes “I’m bored” for a podcast review?? #loser. It’s embarrassing how these folks show what fools they are by taking time out of their days to offer their little meaningless thoughts and opinions This one: “there’s nothing new” 🙄really?? When are we getting the dunce cap emoji??
  • chairyoh
    Important story, carefully told
I commend this family for sharing the whole story in such a calm and digestible way. I wish the sponsors wouldn’t insist on ads where the host has to incorporate the podcast topic into the ad. “Having a missing sister means I don’t have a lot of time to financially plan…” just let her tell everyone what company is supporting the program and we will imagine that the host is busy.

    Family Perspective a First
I’m new to podcasts, and I figured I’d start with True Crime since it’s a genre I enjoy in general. This podcast was done so exceptionally well. Granted, it’s only the second one I had listened to, but it set the bar so high for me. From the narration, done by Maura’s sister, to the in-depth insight provided and the heartbreaking perspectives shared by multiple family members.. this was very touching, and also very much eye-opening about the flip side of the true crime coin with regard to hearing a first-hand account of how the impacted family goes through this journey. Thank you, Julie, for sharing this. I wish your family peace and comfort, and I truly hope you are able to bring Maura home some day soon.

    Clarity through the noise
I have never really dug into the missing case of Maura Murray because the online culture around it can be so toxic and abusive, especially towards the family. Julie and all of Maura’s family are incredibly brave to create this podcast given how targeted they have bee, but it’s so important that they had a platform to reclaim their story and Maura’s story and set the record straight. I hope this podcast helps them get answers.
  • Bbaie714
    Setting the record straight
Not only was this podcast engaging and entertaining. It was so well thought out and produced. It felt organized and Julie walks you through the details like a well trained tour guide. She did manipulate or sell you in an idea but rather left it open for listener interpretation. Hoping for some answers to come from this but intriguing story I could stop listening.

    Well done, Julie
Beautifully told, thank you for enduring this experience as a whole yet again in honor of Maura.

    Really moving and genuinely raw.
Julie, if you see this, I was so moved by you and your family’s story and you told it from such a place of authenticity and rawness that I was thinking of my own family as I was listening. I admire your family’s strength and endurance, especially your dad. I have a daughter that’s in her 30s now so, putting myself in his shoes, I do not know that I could have handled this as well. You’re an amazing family, top to bottom. I’m so glad you created this show. I’ve seen Maura’s story on TV and listened to many podcasts. Most of them left me enraged for you and your family. I really appreciate this podcast. I know you have all touched a lot of lives. I pray you find Maura and get the answers you deserve. Everyone should listen to this podcast. Thank you.

    A poignant and important podcast
This is such a moving podcast and an important one told from the perspective of Maura’s family - what a way to honor her; their love for her and dedication to getting answers is clear. We all need to engage with empathy. Hoping the family gets the answers after all of these years.
