-
DrénerAwesome podcastAwesome podcast! Joe is very knowledgeable in all aspects of fishing the guests are always awesome and just as hardcore fishermen as it gets. But also not just for fishing. In general very entertaining story telling. Fun little mixins like Polaroids and bargain basements. Fun to jump into north east hobby fishing culture and throw in some punk rock and jams and that’s C&R

jeremyregerJoe is the real dealIf you are looking for a masters level class on fishing from buying tackle, knot strength, to catching the elusive trophy on legendary waters this is your podcast.. <<update in 2024>> this podcast has honestly saved my life on several occasions… I cannot thank Joe and Magic Mike enough for all they put into this 🤜🤛
-
deankozBest fishing podcastJoe does a great job providing information about a variety of fish and fishing styles as well as interesting characters from the fishing world that relay information and stories about places to go, people to see and fish to catch. I have become a far more knowledgable fisherman from this show and it’s very entertaining to boot. His latest Halloween episode was great, he had regular listeners on to relay their weird and scary fishing stories, it was fantastic.
-
DeikensGreat fishing show highly recommendedThanks Joe… I look forward to every Friday’s podcast

The MN Y’sRadio Jesus for cult anglersThis show is a mix of interviews featuring fishy people from all slimes and scales. With great effort I reached episode 50 as of today. Recently, I forced my wife to listen on a road trip and she likes Joe’s podcast more than listening to Conan’s. To be clear, I like Conan but my bae doesn’t get him. Moving on. I appreciate Joe’s diverse set of interviews from battle-hardened off shore folks to family guys fishing streams and making tackle. Each episode is a nice blend of light comedy, conservation and commercial from a realistic viewpoint from someone who lives it. Cheers

98492010Hanging in there but….Joe, let’s get it together. Three drunk guys all talking at the same time as loudly as possible isn’t what you’re going for. I’ll hang around a little longer, but wow.
-

GreatLakesJakeFavorite fishing podcast!Cut & Retie is my favorite fishing podcast. Joe brings fresh, entertaining, and exciting topics every week!!
-
Cut & RetaliateThe BEST!!This is the only fishing podcast that doesn’t put me to sleep. Know why? Because it’s not about how to catch fish! Joe is a great storyteller and does a great job of capturing the culture and fun of fishing that made us all fall in love with the sport. You learn plenty, don’t get me wrong, but listening to C&R is like hanging with your boys at the bar after a good day of fishing…or bad day. It works either way. Outstanding podcast!
-
kingh308Great podcastI usually listen to deer hunting podcasts, joes show is by far my favorite fishing podcast and what I look forward to every Friday morning.

CraigkillaAwesome Podcast!I love this podcast! It is a great story and has great tales from the guests tht are on the show! It goes in depth but not to the point of being too deep or hard to understand! Funny and interesting stuff!
-
Fly_Tyer_MikeBreath of Fresh Air to the Fishing CommunityI am a die hard fly fisherman but fishing is fishing to me! I love listening to this podcast because it’s always good for a laugh but you also learn quite a few things. I love learning of new fishing styles and fisheries. Add in the funny segments and interesting topics of discussion and you have a straight winner. I have yet to hear any preachy remarks or lectures on this pod cast. It’s all real talk, and Joe calls things how they are and is not one to sugar coat things. I’ve been a fan of Joe since the Hook Shots days, and love that this podcast allows him to display all of his creativity and style! I’m “hooked” on this podcast.
-
Yeah-dudeAwesome showGreat information attained through charismatic and funny storytelling/interviews

stan_bailey02I wish there were more podcast like this oneJoe, Thanks for having an informative and entertaining podcast. You always have great guests and try to get Miles on more often.

-
Cold dude 69Hook Shots, Bent & Cut and Retie ALL HomerunsI look forward to every Friday this podcast coming out. Knowing that every trip I take in my truck over the weekend I get 1-2 hours of fun, information and entertainment from a fishing industry LEGEND. Great show, great host, great guests, PHENOMENAL content.
-
hickorywalnutandpineIt’s no Hook Shots…But it’s the next best thing! There isn’t a better fishing podcast in the ether. Nobody does it like Joe. The best guests, the best stories, and every episode seems to be about as good as the last.
-
GWade199Love the photo as cover art.I don’t have Instagram so I have been left out of the fun of the polaroid segment. But not anymore. Great job Joe C and magic Mike.
-
Awkward1!Finally!!The words like poetry from the man himself finally after a year is on cutting and retie makes me want to sit back with a cold drink reflect upon my soul and become cool like this man.

-
Squirrely JakePure funThis podcast doesn’t take itself too seriously and that makes it so good. Joe is great and he finds amazing guests. This kids centered episode is the best one yet!
-
Royalcoachman21Dialed InI’ve been a fan of Joe’s for many years. Since his Field&Stream days. The dude is totally dialed in to the East coast fishing scene. Give a listen and you won’t be disappointed.
-
NboosterReal and reelOf all the fishing industry personalities out there Joe is by far the most relatable and entertaining one I’ve found. He’s a real life fish nut who can be polished and perfect in his writing and speech but chooses to be loose and hilarious because it’s obviously more fun for him. Also if you 40ish and love 80’s and 90’s references he is your guy. I love everything he’s been a part of but this show is all him, in all his glory. A hilarious, knowledgeable, entertaining, degenerate angler.
-
KEverettJRI’m not interesting, this podcast is.I wish I was interesting enough be on your podcast. 🍻
-
MattDavis45701One of the best!Whatever you fish for, Joe’s got something for you. Like to laugh? Perfect! Want to learn something new? Excellent! You’ll get to know anglers from every walk of life. It’s my frost thing in the morning every Friday listen.
-
Ready to uninstallKerbs and DrewLoved that episode. The therapy had me laughing and Bob the garbage man gave his best story ever.
-
Robin Folger11 out of 10The knobs always go to 11, and JC demands a listen, weekly, so subscribe ya mook. If you’re reading this to decide weather or not, do you really fish? Probably sell spots on Fishbrain…
-
ChadditsgytfffLook forward to Fridays for this podcast.JC always has great stories, his creativeness is above par! Joe’s interview skills are better then J. Rogan’s. JC recommends music I never heard of and I check it out. Great podcast.
-
TJahrausBent 2.0Degenerate anglers rejoice; the Bent Podcast has been resurrected in all of its pike-slimed, bunker-oily glory. Some of the peripheral character segments are gone (fair well Skagit Johnson, good riddance Lance V) but the irreverent intersection of militant fishing, punk rock, and hoagies lives on. This covers the whole spectrum of fishing culture in an audio package that you could listen to for hours.
-
MTBtrialsDegenerate anglers rally here!I’ve been following Joe’s work for a few years now and have thoroughly enjoyed everything he has published. Subscribe to Cut & Retie. Seriously. You won’t regret it. Update, pushing 30 episodes and this just keeps getting better!!!!
-
Biggest of the big BobsBest General Fishing Culture Podcast Currently out thereThe show is less about how or where to catch fish and more about fishing culture in general. Even though my personal types of fishing are very different from the host’s, I still find the show relatable, entertaining and enjoyable. I recommend anyone who likes fishing to give it a go.

6789843$:;?Genuine, funny, engaging and informativeThis is the only podcast that I actually look forward to listening to each week, although I listen to many others. Joe’s long-form interviews with wildly different personalities reveal so much that is unknown about different scenes in the world of fishing. He accomplished this without being mired in the framework of corporate commercialism which taints many other similar shows. The show is also hilarious at points, with regular segments and guests that you can actually get excited about when they pop up. Being a product of the 80’s and 90’s, it’s hard not to smile at the myriad pop-cultural references Joe peppers throughout his shows. If you have ever spent any time in the northeast, you will also likely hear mention of people and places that take you back - like when Joe mentioned the first party boat I ever fished on as a kid - the Blackhawk. Finally, the musical component of this show can’t be ignored either. Cermele’s knowledge of various genres of punk, hardcore and metal adds a dimension to this content that really rounds it out. Many times I have gone back and listened to a track or album he has referenced on the show - he even has a companion playlist on Spotify. This pod is pure gold and will make you want to go out and wet a line every time you listen to it.
