Fr. Mike is the ultimate motivator
I have tried studying the Catechism on my own to no avail. Thanks to Fr. Mike’s enthusiasm and explanation of the Catechism, I look forward to each episode and sometimes double up because this program encourages me to know my faith well and not delay in obtaining this knowledge.

    Fantastic
Thank you for putting together this podcast. I did the whole podcast in 2023 and I am doing it again along with the Bible in a year. I learn so much every day. I love that you “can’t wait to see me tomorrow”. I look forward to those words every day.

    We have the Eucharist!
Let us never lose or change any part of the Eucharist! I truly believe it to be the center of the division of the other churches and our greatest shield and strength! Reading the catechism in a year will make a little St. Paul out of you. We had all the answers, yet I have been so foolish. Pray for us

    Helpful for understanding the faith
Like BIAY, this podcast continues the rich tradition of delving deeper into the faith. I began listening the first year it arrived on the scene, and now, I’m continuing it. I have read the Catechism before, but this offers insight that one may lack if reading alone. I have enjoyed learning more about the Catholic Church, and I highly recommend this for non-Catholics as well because it will allow one to understand further the richness of the faith and the differences between different faith traditions. As a convert, this has helped me grow in my understanding of the Church and enriches my personal faith journey.

    Praying!
I do pray for you Father Mike. I pray that Our Father protect you from evil— the evil of a fallen heart and from the Evil One, who hates the Bride of Jesus. God has blessed you and you are a blessing to so many. “Please Lord put your fortress over him!”

Happy to be back after 45 years 🫶🏻
At age 20 I left the Catholic church to follow Jesus.. I know it sounds crazy but it’s the truth! I found Jesus apart from the Catholic church, and 45 years later I realize He was there all along! The tools of Catechism podcast and even Bible podcast are making the teachings of Jesus and of the Catholic church accessible and understandable. Thank you!

    Catholic conversion
Two were received into the church Easter Vigil last night (2024).The couple each individually started listening to Bible in a Year. When they discovered their spouse was listening to the pod cast, they decided as a couple to look seriously at conversion to the Catholic faith. I am now enjoying my 4th year Cindy Riedner

I am a Catholic kid and feel I have been slacking on paying attention to the Lord so I followed this podcast and it helps me a lot to pay more attention to the Lord.

    Love it
Learning from a humble expert is the best. I am a cradle Catholic always seeking deeper knowledge, more soul enriching and to be closer to Jesus. This is great as well as Bible in a year. The commentary on both of these are great. Thank you for giving your time Fr. Mike 💙you’re a friend and teacher to all of us.

    Enlightening and Transformative
I am almost 65 years old, born and raised Catholic. Before BIY and now, CIY, I had the most rudimentary understanding of as well as a very inconsistent connection to my faith. Like BIY, this podcast has helped to open my mind and heart in a way I never thought possible. Thank you, Father Mike, for your teaching and thank God for leading me here.

    Important!
A day-by-day exploration of the treasure that is the Church. Agree, disagree — at least you’ll know the WHY of what the Church teaches. Life-changing.

    100% WORTH YOUR TIME!
Last year, I was called to start my journey in Catholicism. I was lost for 17 years battling with my faith and drifting from Christ. I started getting random signs to come back. Ft. Mike popped up on my YouTube suggestions…How? I do not know. But after watching his presentation on the intimacy of the Eucharist I dove deeper into Catholicism. I reached out the week before Easter to my local Catholic Church and they got me into RCIA 23-24. It is important to me that if I decided to be Catholic I wanted to look at the Catechism and say whole heartedly and confidently, “Yes. I understand it, and I believe this.” Thanks to this podcast I can and will. This Easter I am going to receive my First Communion and Confirmation. I am excited and eternally grateful for everyone that was involved with this podcast and every listener that prayed for me as a fellow listener. I will continue to pray for everyone. God Bless you all!

    Love CIY!
I converted to Catholicism a couple of years ago. I wanted to read the Catechism but always seemed like a daunting goal. But Catechism In a Year has been a wonderful resource to understand the faith even more. I love how Fr Mike explains each part. I had listened to Bible in a Year podcast the year before and between these two podcasts I feel like I truly have a better understanding. Even my husband who grew up Catholic has enjoyed listening to the podcast with me and we have discussions about it.

    Even better the second time
I’m re-listening to the CIY and it keeps me going to ensure that I’m in grace with the Church. I’m thankful that this podcast was developed to help us to understand the CCC.

    Beautiful app!
It’s my 2nd year listening to this podcast and also the Bible in a year. I want to suggest if you are planning to do this app in Spanish language? I am bilingual and I shared with family and friends who speak Spanish and they are amazed of the great way that this app brought a big change into their life. Please if you can do it in Spanish would be a great espiritual instrument for the Hispanic people. Thank you to all the team of Ascension , Mr. Jeff Cavins and specially to Fr. Mike, I can assure you of my daily prayers.

    Really strengthened my faith
I was born and raised Catholic and have never read the catechism and actually understood it. This podcast reinforced my faith and made me live my faith and know myself blessed to be catholic! What a gift! The most complete religion, thank you Father Mike that you made this and explained it so we can understand and live our faith even more! God bless you! We’re praying for you.

    A year long Emaus walk
I listened to this podcast over the last year after finishing the Bible in a Year podcast. I really appreciated the explanation of the core beliefs of the Catholic Church broken down by themes and FULLY supported by the scriptures and especially the way the Old and New Testaments are woven together into the coherent world view that is the Catholic Church. Each day Fr. Mike opened the scriptures up to a fuller understanding. It was as if I were walking with Jesus on that day on the road to Emaus! If you’re Catholic do yourself a huge favor and commit to listening to this, I can guarantee you it will be worth your while! If you are not Catholic but are open to understanding why the church teaches what it does then do yourself a favor and listen to this podcast too! I can guarantee it will break down the objections you might have to the Catholic faith.

    Fantastic Insights and Understanding
For anyone looking to gain a greater understanding of the faith I highly recommend this podcast. Father Mike is the perfect balance of knowledgeable, light hearted, and solemn throughout the series. Fair warning, this is not “background noise” on your car ride but a series that challenges you and makes you pay attention.

    Such a blessing
I start my day with CIY and BIY. This a second time around for me. I am learning more, understanding more and feeling more and more yearning for the messages conveyed with each reading. Thank you Father Mike and all who help to bring this to us every day. I have the Ascention App which gives so much background to Must add that Jeff Cavins is just amazing in his knowledge. I follow him on Hallow every day too.

Beautiful words and CCC just wow
Love his fire and passion that makes me want to hear it more. I stopped but now I’m hearing it again and whether it’s here or on the ascension app. I want to go back and forth to hear it’s beautiful words teach me what I need and should know. And if anyone wants to know this is not for Catholics only but also for any other person. It’s to help you understand not what Catholics believe but also what the actual Christianity faith and it’s people Christian’s believed with so much in faith. It’s to give you a guide to understand what they know, does for, believed when the world wasn’t enough. This book and in the Bible shows you. A side by side book that gives you more than just faith, but also theology, history, and more. And with the Bible next you as you’ve read it and/or listen to it. You will garner more than just an insight. You will get the whole complete package that makes us and always the children of God.

    Teaching not proving
Fr. Mike admonished that you shouldn’t listen to a podcast if you think it’s one star. Fair point. As I’ve heard elsewhere, it’s difficult to get from the Bible to Christianity. The podcast presents Catholicism as equally rooted in the Bible and the tradition of the Church. It’s about what Catholicism is but not why, as a series of rules and exclusions. If you think of Catholicism as a series of rules, you’ll learn a lot.

Thank you Father Mike and the Ascension Team!
A friend told me about this podcast back in August and I’ve been listening each day ever since through pillars 3 and 4. Listening to you explain the Catechism has brought new and amazing insights about my faith that I never fully understood or appreciated. My analogy is like when you see a movie out of focus, you may see large shapes or colors but not details. Your podcast has brought God’s word and plan for salvation into crystal clear focus for me. I really have enjoyed the explanation of the 10 commandments & the 7 petitions of the Lord’s Prayer. Thanks so much for what you do!
