Everyday MattInformation Overload (in a good way)I have been absolutely loving this podcast! I am just getting into coffee culture and have learned so much from these lessons. Sometimes what Kenneth and the guest speakers are talking about goes right over my head, but that’s okay. I had no idea the amount of work and effort it takes to have my cup of coffee. Thank you for everything!

mully stacheTo much political agenda.Sorry guys. I wanted to like it but y’all need to stop subtly sneaking in the leftist climate change agenda.

Memphis GuyEnjoying the PodcastHey Kenneth and Katie! Thanks so much for taking the time to do the podcast! I started listening this summer, starting with the first episode, as you suggest. I usually listen while mowing or washing the vehicles. I’ve learned a lot, and really enjoy the discussion. I’ve also ordered some coffee from Umble (Front Runner, Upper 90, and Breakaway). Front Runner and Upper 90 have been my favorites! I especially enjoyed the recent French Press episode, not necessarily because of the talk about the French press, but especially the frank discussion with Justin and your acknowledgement of the need to have priorities in life and the possibility of things in our lives becoming idols. Also the ability we have to help others and ourselves through letting our guard down and letting ourselves be vulnerable and sharing what we struggle with in life. Good stuff! Look forward to the next one!

Espressly gratefulGreat episode!!Thanks so much for your informative and fun podcasts all about coffee, and especially for this episode about Moka Pots. I’ve had mine for years, but learned some useful things about it in your episode. And, its great fun to hear you and your Australian guest try to switch accents. G’day y’all!

Fremont71Enjoying the PodcastThis is an enjoyable podcast if you like coffee. I am usually working out or driving, so some of the details get lost to me, but I can get them from the notes or episode webpage. Ken doesn’t come off as a know-it-all or coffee snob, which is a pleasant deviation from some other coffee podcasts. He should make an index of shops he likes or mentions on the show and put it on a webpage. It is hard to go back and find them. I travel a bit and get in some places that I am not impressed with, but if possible I would make an effort to get to some interesting ones. I had a plan to get to the Frothy Monkey, but ended up not going to Nashville. Just a thought.

Keara ACoffee for crowdsI make a lot of events serving coffee for big crowds. Currently, I use an electric percolator but is there a better method to use? Love this podcast!! Thank you

billy dengelMy first stop for Coffee education!I started listening because I bought an office coffee delivery service. It’s helped me understand the whole process. I’m now opening up a coffee shop! 😬 I’d like to hear a podcast on the topic of starting a coffee truck, cart, or coffee shop. Also maybe a discussion on the XBloom coffee maker. Thanks Kenneth and Katie!

XHimpxAn excellent cupThis podcast is as enjoyable as a good cup of coffee. I love listening to the hosts. Unfortunately this podcast will leave you craving a high quality coffee which sometimes is hard to find. Thank you Kenneth & Katie.

erikb324Binge listen-worthyFirst, I’m biased. Second, as a K-cup user, I appreciate the “enjoy YOUR cup of coffee” guidance. But I’m learning to appreciate the more handcrafted, flavorful specialty coffee scene… Since that first wildly different cup of coffee served at a small house in Starkville, MS, I have been curious about all the coffee I didn’t know existed before that moment. As a listener, I’ve been further educated on the coffee production lifecycle and future developments of coffee products, and recently on the construction of an ideal cup of coffee. I’d have to say this podcast is right in-line with a secret weapon for upping one’s coffee game, just as the show continually claims… and as a biased friend, it is just good to hear my friend from adolescence share knowledge about this subject for which he is so passionate. Also, I’m disappointed that Katie doesn’t have a better palate for 90s alternative music or 80s rock. This must be remedied, but not sure how coffee fits into that… but if there is a way, I think y’all will find a way… E.B. Houston, TX

Meghan in MAI love Coffee 101Kenneth and Katie, I am loving your podcast! I have always dreamed of having my own coffee shop but have never done anything to make that dream come true. Lately, the desire for turning my love for coffee into a business has been consuming me. Not really knowing where to start, I searched for “coffee education” in Podcasts and that’s when I found Coffee 101! I love the topics and how you present them! You are inspiring me to continue on this journey to see where it leads! Thank you! Meghan in MA

36 yr memberCoffee: An addiction I can get behind!I became a Coffee 101-er after seeing Kenneth on one of Dr Rob Cywes’ (The Carb Addiction Doc) YouTube episodes, and was impressed by their conversation. I’ve always enjoyed “coffee-ology” and since I’ve been listening to the 101 podcast, I’ve learned a lot. It’s a good listen, and I highly recommend it.

Wanda WPCool!I’m new to coffee and this is such a fun and entertaining podcast about all things coffee! Love it!
-
RWeikelCoffeeI love this podcast it is very educational. We drink coffee at least 3 times a day. We like our Americano either hot or iced. Our first cup of the day is hot water with a double shot add into the water. We found doing it that way is better than the double shot and then the water on top. Our second cup we do with a little heavy cream. Thanks for sharing all this information. I’m looking for to learning more from you.

Ashton.AustinFavorite Coffee PodcastI don’t know of a more impressive podcast on coffee knowledge and immersing yourself into the world of coffee. Dr. Kenneth Thomas does a fantastic job of bringing you into the world of “coffee geeks” but without overwhelming the average listener. Very well thought out series of interviews that expands your coffee knowledge with each episode, allowing you to really appreciate the depth that there is to coffee. I also love that he is such a great supporter of local roasters, and while Umble Coffee is promoted, you can feel the sense of genuine love and unity amongst the coffee community. Fantastic work! Thank you for this great gift!
-
Madagascan Speciality CoffeeEverything you wanted to know about coffee!Kenneth, I have been listening to your podcast since episode 1. It's just great! Can you spend more time on the main coffee origins? For example, one episode on Ethiopian coffee, one episode on Kenyan coffee, etc. Can you also have an episode on the economics of the coffee value chain and the business aspect of the industry?
-
jcastelblancoInteresting coffee history facts but…I find your podcast very well planned and organized, about my post pandemic new passion called coffee. I have enjoyed very much the first 3 chapters so far I have listened to. However, I am little disappointed you didn’t include in the history 3rd chapter, the story about Pope Clement VIII coffee endorsements, who encouraged Catholic followers to enjoy coffee even when it was considered by many an evil beverage drank only by Muslim enemies. But I want to thank you for the initiative of promoting and educating us about the best drink humankind has taste in all his / her entire life. Cheers!

SirQuimbltonAll the knowledge you could ever wantI’ve been working for a coffee roaster for just over a year and have learned more about coffee from this podcast than being in the industry personally. If you want to elevate your coffee experience this is a must listen. I hope you can go more in depth with Small Producer's certification one day since the company I work for, Cafe Mam, is one of the first to be officially certified after the trademark was passed and I think more people and roasters should pay attention to it. Much love!

Jws140Top notchStarted out good. Is now refining down close to something great. Recent co-host has a real co-vibe that is reminiscent of other really great podcast teams I listen to on the reg. They kinda have an "it" I feel. If youre at all interested in coffee... or even if not and want some interesting knowledge in a subject you can deep dive and learn a heck of a lot on with seemingly RadioIab worthy editing then i strongly suggest. I love when someone is truly passionate about a subject. When they are it doesn't matter if I am or not. The enthusiasm draws me in and i find myself loving things I never knew I did before. My wife did it to me w pottery and this does it to me for coffee. Enjoy.

SJCooney96Interested to PassionateWent from knowing not much yet interested and wanting to know more and now having a passion for coffee and all that it represents. Very informative and thorough in the explaining of coffee “from farm to cup” as Kenneth puts it.
-
Halls vouhrgue dcghrissdiancanPhenomenal!I have had the pleasure of meeting the host himself on several occasions, and with each of them I learned a little something I didn’t know about coffee. This episode cleared up a lot of misconceptions I had about decaf! I was pleasantly surprised when the science and processes of making it were explained in a manner that was easy for beginners to understand. 10/10
-
bhamwhitesGreat for the coffee enthusiastThis show does a great job of diving deep into a very specific topic related to coffee each episode. The guests are very knowledgeable and the episodes do a great job of completing the thought about the topic. I usually don’t like it when a podcast recommends that I start at episode 1 but it makes sense with this one. This podcast is kind of like a college course on coffee (without the quizzes and exams) so it truly helps with starting at the beginning.

'BurghDadBest Educational Podcast on Coffee that I could findRecently returned from a Hawaii trip where I fell in love with the coffees of Hawaii. This led me to want to learn more about coffee in general. This was the best podcast I found to do so. Thanks for the well researched and produced podcast.

The information is clear, delivered well and covers a lot of ground. Highly recommend for anyone who is curious about coffee and how your your coffee gets made.

Mora CoffeeA “must” podcast for anyone who drinks coffee drinker or even the most knowledgeable coffee nerdsThis podcast provides a unique and comprehensive approach to educate listeners about coffee beginning with the history, worldwide origin, farming and processing methods, species, selection, export import, certifications, and much more-all done with an extraordinary level of detail and with knowledgeable subject-matter experts who provide their unique perspective. The podcast presents topics in an organized fashion which facilitates learning in manageable parts and does so with lighthearted humor which only makes it that much more entertaining to listen to. I look forward to many more episodes!!
-
NDMikey91Great podcast!I’m new to the world of coffee sales and this show is great for furthering my education! Keep up the great work!
-
TDogACatEye opening coffee detailI’m amazing at the entertainment value you being with a simple bean. I learn something new every episode. I can’t wait to hear about the process of making a good cup of coffee. I’m interested in the differences between poor over or French press or espresso. How much does the temperature of the water matter? How long should the water be in contact with the bean? How fine should I grind the bean? Why does the cold brew taste different and how long should it brew? What beans are best for cold brew vs hot brew? What is your opinion on what Kurig has done to the industry? Can’t wait for those answers and more!
-
JCArangoVery interesting and entertaining! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience.

-
DoctorJonMSGreat to learn about something I drink every dayBefore this podcast, I knew more about wine, that I drink a few times per year, than coffee, that I drink all day every day. Kenneth and his guests really help to demystify coffee. Or maybe re-mystify coffee. Hah.
-
NagitanaGreat podcast!Really fun to listen to and full of useful information. I just discovered the podcast and I’ve been enjoying it a lot.
-
newtsmomWho knew?Who knew a podcast about coffee could be so fun and informative? I’m not even a huge coffee drinker, but I love history and random information and I’ve learned so much from Kenneth and his conversations with his friends in the Coffeeverse who love all things coffee. Who knew a seaport in Yemen, a Franciscan monk, and a mythical goat herd had so much in common?
-
JSydBrantleyA Coffee Snobs Dream PodCast 😉☕️It’s been fun listening to you! As a veteran barista, bonafide coffee snob, and caffeine addict, I really appreciate your approach and attention to detail. The research, history, and content is interesting and the guest are knowledgeable. Especially enjoyed the history of coffee episode! Anyone whether they start with drip coffee or enjoy a daily macchiato (not the Starbucks one), can get their java on with these podcast! Can’t wait for more episodes!

Doodle Bob IIThis show is a “Latte” fun!I’m a new (ish) Barista, and I can say that this podcast has really opened my eyes to the possibilities of coffee and just how big the world of coffee is! Learning about the types of coffee, the history of coffee, and the way coffee is viewed by different folks is super interesting, and I can see myself listening to this podcast for a very, very long time! 10/10 will continue listening, and if you haven’t, you absolutely should!

Boman S.Good to have a local roasterHaving purchased some Umble Coffee previously, I was super excited to learn of their new podcast and loved listening to what they have to say. As a Starkville resident, coffee connoisseur, and supporter of local businesses, this is a great opportunity for me to brag on Umble. Great coffee.
-
maryelizabethblakeA podcast for coffee lovers! This is a great podcast for anyone interested in learning more about the history behind coffee and some fun takeaways about the drink that gets us going. Kenneth mentioned how even making his coffee is an act of mindfulness and it might just inspire me enough to pull my aeropress back out. Pour your cup of joe and give it a listen.
