I recommend this Podcast at least once a week
This is in my top 3 favorite podcast. Andrea reports shocking stories in an intriguing, response, and professional manner. She is always considerate of the subject person’s and her listeners’ feelings. Her voice is soothing, and her words are thoughtful. I absolutely love this podcast.

    Lost the Plot
This show has gone downhill faster than a ski jumper slathered in bacon grease being chased by the abominable snowman. I’d rather trim my toenails with a weedwhacker than listen to what this show has become. Deuces, I’m out.
  • Lovin' This
    Love it!
This is one of the podcasts that I look forward to on a weekly basis! Andrea isn’t a distracting host and does a great job coming in to summarize while focusing on the story teller.

    Thanks. I needed this
I’m a new listener. I’m on episode, “Smile.” I was raped at 14. I told my best friend and my brother. My stepdad took me to the police station. This was in 1995. The detective that interviewed me made it seem like it was my fault because I didn’t scream or run out the room. He made me feel so uncomfortable I ended the interview. I found myself crying at work. Thank you for this episode.

    Survivors are incredible!
Updated review. Thank you, thank you to these incredible survivors and the Betrayal staff. You are the only podcast that covers this content with true empathy and survivor-centered honesty and truthful integrity . If you and “Something Was Wrong” (My tied for first fave) had a baby, it should run for President ❤️❤️ Listening to these episodes breaks my heart, but also shows me what true strength is and how lucky we are to have this life. Every season of this podcast has been truly amazing. Season 3 was heartbreaking in every possible way, especially if you’re a boy mom. But it also showed me the depth of strength of survivors, and I’m so grateful for their bravery to share their stories in an effort to help other's. You’re my heroes!

    Starting to Decline
I used to love this show. It was always really interesting. However, now it seems most of the story is unnecessary backstory and the “betrayal” is thrown in like an afterthought. I also think the stories aren’t as intense or gut wrenching. The one about the woman in the internet community in particular was lacking. These are the people’s stories, but there is a level of “entertainment” (for lack of a better term because I’m not happy these people experienced these things) the story should bring. It just feels drawn out now. I’d wait longer for better, more detailed betrayal stories.

    Love Listening to Betrayal.
I enjoy each episode of Betrayal. It is quite intriguing. I usually listen on my way to and from work. It amazes me what can be going on right under our noses and we are clueless. The podcast brings to light the many, many ways people can deceive you. What often comes to mind when I think about betrayal is that in romantic relationships, but it comes in so many different forms. The podcast makes you more attentive to the actions of others in your life. Maybe even a little paranoid. Great work on the podcast, but sorry so many people in this world are being betrayed and traumatized.

    Great episodes
Great podcast with great stories. Look forward to listening every week. I can relate to so many betrayals. I so relate to Carmen Wong’s episode. So nice to have an episode about a Dominican woman/family.

I am so sad for Audrey
I am so sad for Audrey and being taken advantage of by her own mother while in that state of health Whatever city she is in, the justice system has failed her miserably. The only thing I can’t help but wonder is why Audrey had slurred speech the entire time…

    Love it!
I enjoy this podcast and look forward to listening to it every week. It’s easy to listen and say “there’s no way I wouldn’t have known about xyz..” but you truly don’t know unless you’re in that situation. I think Andrea does a fantastic job and I enjoy listening to her.

    Mixed feelings
I’m with the other recent comment on the Sara episode…something seemed off with that one. Not sure what it was, can’t quite put my finger on it but regardless, it just wasn’t a great episode. I’ve really enjoyed a few Betrayal episodes, but there have been some that lacked something.

    Build up episodes
I like the new weekly episodes. Part 1 and maybe a 2nd episode. I get bored and move on when the story is dragged out.

    Needs Work
The show is clearly running out of material. The last “victim” Sara seemed to be demanding a friendship from a woman she didn’t know online that repeatedly pushed her away. Yet she felt betrayed learning the woman wasn’t real? Makes no sense.

    Hit and miss
The ads are excessive, discordant, and jarring. Some of the stories, especially the people who have done deep inner work, are well-worth listening to. Season two is excellent, and I recommend it whenever relevant. Rachel Heller has filed a lawsuit against this podcast team (and Hulu) for including her in the tv adaptation of the first season—I find this troubling. The latest episode, “Sara”, in November 2024, is such a soporific slog, I have no idea how the team pressed “publish”.

    Go Rabbi!
Thank goodness for the rabbi, who is the only one with any sense in Sara’s episode…

    5 Star
These episodes never go where I think they will. Always engaging!
  • Piper Persimmon
    Interesting but skeptical!
While I do find the episodes interesting there are some facts throughout some that leave me with questions. How can a person live with an intimate partner and NEVER see one of their feet!!!
  • Jaded215
    Sara again this week
Sara was posted last week and again this week. No new show this week?
  • Ultravox5050
    Chelsea (anonymous) episode feels fake
Not just because it’s anonymous (but that doesn’t help). The subject’s testimony is jargon-filled and comes across like bad, melodramatic overacting; and the facts seem too movie-of-the-week perfect to be true. Also, narrator’s tone is cheesy.
  • ShaSha827
    Sara
This newest episode about Sara being in a group on Facebook, and one of the moderators was a catfish. I kept waiting for the betrayal part. So a stranger on Facebook gave you discouraging comments about parenting and…? What? I kept anticipating some sort of climatic twist but no. This episode was lame.

    Top Tier Listen!
This podcast checks all the boxes! My only complaint is the episodes being so short. If the episodes were just a bit longer it wouldn’t come off as rushed to tell. As podcast listeners we obv are here to get into a detailed, long climatic journey. Every other aspect of the show, production, narrators- flawless! Thank you for creating this! ❤️

    Love it!
Love listening and always keeps my interest!

Show is fine, but the Ads…
It’s a little jarring to have the subject matter being discussed (CSAM, pedophilia and other inappropriate sexual situations) interrupted by constant Adyi ads. To launch from descriptions of the CSAM being consumed by the perpetrators right into DO YOU WISH YOU WERE IN THE MOOD MORE OFTEN? is… surely there are other ads and maybe one should read the room?

    Are these subjects vetted?
The Chelsea episode makes me wonder if these subjects are truly vetted.

    Chelsea
This woman sounds sooo unstable- maybe vetting episodes for mental health before taping would be a good idea.
  • Jta0919
    Great show but too short
The show is great but the episodes are too short and parts that need a bit more fleshing out get rushed and then it’s over. The ones that are 2 parts long the second episode tends to be anticlimactic. Great stories but definitely need to be longer

    Specifically on the Stephanie episode
I LOVED this series. It was the first podcast to get me into podcasts. I’ve enjoyed this podcast for so long. But the Stephanie episode was awful. The way the character is portrayed comes off as this helpless woman who is only interested in her ex husbands money. (Which i am sure is not the case) There was more talk about their lifestyle and vacations and pool than there was about her sicko ex husband and his disgusting actions. Not being able to criminally prosecute? He was posting these images on the internet!!!!!!! There is no need for your local PD to be involved??? The episode felt rushed and not fully developed. Very disappointing from such a consistently amazing podcast.

    Compelling reporting.

    Thank You
Thank you for giving people a platform to share their story and help in their healing process. You all do an amazing job. I have been touched by each individual sharing their story. Each individual is amazing. There is so much power in sharing your truth. I just listened to Chelsea’s story. I am truly moved by her sheer determination to tell her story, move forward and heal as well as grow.

    My favorite!!
Thank you for being so professional and letting the victims speak!! I love this podcast. Keep up the great work.
  • JJJmomof3
    Love the podcast
I love this podcast but the way the episodes appear are confusing and out of order. I also wish that the names of the stories were consistent. For example when one story is more than one episode, I wish they had the same name. It would be easier to follow. The content is great and the narrating is awesome!!!

    Love!
Love this podcast! Absolutely engaging and well thought presentation. I love how much she genuinely seems to care about the people and their well being.
