Quite possibly the most compelling podcast out there!

I enjoyed seasons 1-3 but I love the new format and stories in season 4.

Absolutely love Gone South!

Just wanted to say that this is a really good show, my only critique is that a lot of the names particularly the names of the Louisiana people are mispronounced. But that is to be expected because pronouncing Cajun and Coonass names isn’t easy. Otherwise great job Jeb.

Loved all the seasons of Gone South, and especially the different story telling in Season 4. Jed does an amazing job, and the stories are written so well. I look forward to listening on my drive to work every week!

I am deeply impressed with the storytelling of this podcast. As a public defender for 30 years, I’m well versed in the subject matter covered. It is concisely delivered, but with the right amount of color to make the stories compelling as well as factually accurate. Bravo! But Goddamnit, make the episodes longer! I can’t stand waiting a whole week for the next episode.

Really loving the new format of one season of long form storytelling individual stand alone episodes. I’m adding to my review that I also really liked the last episode “The Last Leper Colony.” Such a great new way to do the show.

I’m enjoying this podcast immensely. I started with season 4 and I know it is a little different than the others but I enjoy Jed’s style and the stories so much that I am excited to listen to the previous seasons also.

The stories shared on the Gone South podcast are eye opening and entertaining.

I have no clue what makes this my favorite podcast, but it is. Jed’s storytelling, interviewing, and scripting are top notch. I love every season, but this season is my favorite, with each episode or every few episodes being a new subject.

Been following this podcast for several years. Unlike the vast majority of crime-adjacent podcasts, it doesn't churn out the same old tired stories. I enjoy the host's storytelling style which translates over to his ability to get the people he interviews to open. Hands down my favorite podcast. I’ve listened to hundreds and this one is so well done and the stories all seem like a secret we are now privy to.

Jed writes a phenomenal presentation that allows the listener to visualize everything. I thoroughly enjoyed season 4’s individual episodes and I feel the ones associated with the seasons 1 & 2 carry more weight by being associated with the same subject matter. Season 1 & 2 are super intriguing bodies of work.

The show gets better every season and I especially like this short story format although 16 shows aren’t enough. Lol Keep up the great work with the fascinating stories, interesting characters and high quality production.

I’ve listened to every season of Gone South and really don’t think I’d like the new season with a different story every episode but I LOVE it! Interesting storytelling, deep and engaging. Keep them coming!

I’ve never heard anything from Jed Lipinski that wasn’t worth the listen - absolute favorite host.

Has always been one of my absolute favorites! Yeah, I’m a southerner, and these stories always seem to capture the peculiarities and essence of the south in a way that is just so perfect and enjoyable. Sometimes embarrassing, sometimes horrifying, but always interesting! And so well done by Jed, thank you!

Never disappointing! I love the multi-episode versions and the new one episode versions equally well. Wonderfully interesting and well told, with perhaps the only resolutions in the true crime genre. Hats off to Jed for his accurate pronunciation of southern cities, especially Mobile Alabama, not easy to enunciate correctly if you are not from this area. Thank you, Jed, for your riveting podcasts and documentaries! Keep them coming!!

Excellent material! Quirky obscure incidents. Frequently includes interviews with perpetrators and witnesses.

What I love about this podcast compared to other true crime podcasts is that every episode has twists, turns, and new developments that make it engaging and interesting to listen to. I find that a lot of other podcasts take one story line and just drag it out over several episodes. And while the first 3 seasons of Gone South each focuses on one story with a through line, every episode brings new information and angles to light. And I love season 4 with every episode (or two) focusing on different, isolated stories. It’s so well done!

The bonus episode was terrible. What a let down. You can do better.

This is the only podcast that has ever kept my attention on long road trips. Never boring!

I loved this podcast and Jed but had to stop when Bill Clutter entered the conversation. His work with Christopher Vaughn has tainted my opinion of his credibility. Jed giving this media hungry man a platform was an instant turn off and I literally turned off the podcast. Maybe I’ll come back for the next season but this one has been ruined.

I love listening to the story about anything about the south. I am from the south and I would not have it any other way. Thank you for the new stories especially since I have never heard of these before.

This is just a really well done and thoughtful podcast. I listen to primarily true crime podcasts and this one ranks in the top 5 for sure! Highly recommend and worth the listen. Feel this way about the earlier seasons that are series and also the new season which is a new subject each episode.

This podcast is about as high up in quality as this medium can achieve. Jed Lipinski is an excellent researcher, interviewer, and podcaster. In a world where most true crime podcasts are gossipy garbage, this show leads the way with top tier content and presentation.

I look forward to the release of each new season. This series is well researched and all sides are presented. I appreciate Lepinski’s presentation as I don’t care for overly dramatized podcasts.

As a truck driver I listen to a lot of podcasts mostly true crime. I’ve enjoyed the first 3 seasons and with the format change in season 4 going to a weekly story I was pleased that I hadn’t heard the stories he was telling. It’s not just the same story told slightly differently

I’ve never listened to podcasts much before, but I kept hearing about “Gone South” on KSON in San Diego. The commercial was a bit vague, and I kept asking “what is it about?!” So I decided to listen on my way to class one night. Within the first 5 minutes I was hooked. Everything from the interviews, to the way Jed narrates is flawless. I just caught up with the series yesterday and I can’t wait for more. Definitely the best way to dive into the world of podcast listening!!

Lipinski does a thorough job with his research and presents the facts professionally. After each show I feel more educated about the society we live in. Thanks
