FrebstraEpisode 4I have thought about all that was said in episode 4 and it was so great to hear other ladies saying it out loud too. I have loved the wailing songs and Scottish songs with similar themes and find them important but also struggle with how/where to present them, and you all put my thoughts into words. Wonderful. I perform Scottish and Irish tunes and also play at local sessions in America. For years when people wonder what I like/ why I play Celtic music, I say that I love how the songs tell stories of real people!! Just like you say! My other music choices at the time were rock which is more about party, or describing feelings, indie, which was more about being new and “different”, or classical. I just wish that songs still told stories , until then or until I make up my own songs, I’ll be singing these old stories of those long ago old people. Thanks for this podcast! Love

V. CampbellGaelic song fans will love this!I enjoyed listening to every episode, and learned so much about gaelic songs as they are rooted in the lives of those who created and sang them, at home, around the Scottish diaspora. Great presenter and wonderful guests. Fascinating!
