SebKTMEtALLicABy: Sebastian SquatrittoI love how this gives the band’s perspective on things and exposes their music. It really gives you a sense of what they feel and had felt. You learn a lot of new things from this podcast which is awesome. Overall this just exposes the band and gives the fans something. -Sebastian

Puja McGriddleDrivelAs much as I love Metallica, the production of this podcast is terrible… Extreme overusage of segue riffs, repetitive material episode after episode… you would think the History Channel produced this… any proud Metallica fan knows 80% of the content to begin with anyways.
-
indygregIts a must listen for fans of the band and this albumalso for those that hate the album - it explains a lot. BUT - the reason it is not 4 stars is the production is SO self indulgent and wasteful. Way too much intro with high production voices and sounds - some eps it is like 30% of the entire length. It will turn people off.

Jimmy PetullaThank you!Appreciate the guys and everyone involved putting this together for the fans. It’s always great to hear from the band but to also get to hear from some of the folks that work behind the scenes was pretty awesome. Hope we get more of these in the future!
-
Sad_But_True2021I Love It!It’s nice to hear their prospective on making the album and all that it took to get confortable with the new process. I Love Metallica with passion and it’s cool that in a way I get to know them better that way. The only little problem I have with the actual podcast is that it’s a bit over produced and sometimes it takes me a bit of time to know what they are talking about. I feel like they cut with music “mid thought” and it’s a bit hard to follow sometimes.
-
tonyad95MetallicaA little less technical stuff and more about the songs would have been nice.
-
singlebrownguyUnbearable over exaggerated British accentThe over the top accent of the narrator is a turn off and the content is more of the same; this band is James and Lars and they make sure any chance they get that we understand that. Lars talking “you and I” referring to James and likewise in the other direction. You would think after all these they’d be tired of the territorial pissing but no; I’m sorry but despite the fact that Kirk has been in Metallica since 1983, he’s just a hired gun who made everybody a millionaire with that Sandman riff.

MasTer oF PupPetZEssential for Metallica fansIf you are a fan of Metallica, or heavy metal in general, this is a perfect snapshot of one band's journey to creating one of the most inconic albums of all time. The podcast itself is well-produced with a lot of great discussion from the band and people who were a part of the Black Album's creation. I love band history, and this is a superb podcast about one of my favorite bands. It even gives me a new appreciation of the Black Album, which is saying something because it always been one of my favorites. This podcast is essential listening! \m/
-
the_mighty_hetfieldLove Metallica, but this is badly produced and edited. AVOID!Podcast is completely over-edited. Conversations and ideas have zero flow, and subject matter jumps around entirely too much. There are non-sensical music bits that have no bearing on what’s being said. Metallica should find a new team to produce these. Embarrassing.

Alexa154bigsFive starI love this podcast I can listen for hours

Metalman87Fantastic Album and BandThe Black Album by Metallica was what got me into heavy music. I was a teenager, I was still figuring out who I was, and this album and the stories about this album helped shape me. This podcast is fantastic. Love hearing the band talk about the album and all the stories that come from this album.
-
PexManMetallica 5 Star / Podcast 4Great stories but they are talking about ...and Justice album and then they throw on black album songs. Not the best editing.
-
Union-1AwesomeThe best there was, the best there is, the best there ever will be

Sammy Warm HandsGreat content, overproducedIt’s a story we never tire of hearing, from all the key players involved. I’d happily listen to this for every Metallica album! My only gripe is that for fairly short episodes, they’re crammed with a lot of filler, via ads, narration, mostly irrelevant music segues, and even playing interview clips twice on the same episode for the sake of an intro. I listen every time, but this is the most I’ve ever had to use that skip ahead button!
-
IamAMetallicaTexanMy Godfathers of RockI look forward to this podcast every Friday. Especially hearing the band members memories of making the album. Through the good, the bad and the ugly I am a Metallica fan for life!
-
IreneElektraAbsolutely incredibleEasily the best music podcast ever recorded. The mastery and subtleties in the storytelling direct from the band members is absurd. Congrats to the team who produced this and happy anni to the black album. Let the live music tear through like it did from the beginning.
-
katrynarayeLarsI’ll listen because it’s Metallica. But Lars when will it’s electric be back?!!
-
Lt KratosTStop recycling clips.I really wish these podcasts were edited better. They're constantly recycle clips of dialog. Otherwise, it's a decent podcast.
-
Omid6522Metallica worldListening to Metallica's story from the band members is a great and unique pleasure. I hope this podcast continues so that all fans from all over the world can get closer to the world of Metallica. Thanks to Metallica
-
ZimmsyPosts here tend to lag behindThe podcast is fantastic and deserves five stars. It only loses a star because each of the last three episodes was unavailable on this platform hours after being posted on Spotify. So the loss of a star is for Apple podcasts.
-
Big PikelAwesomeI really love all the insight this pod gives. My only gripe is that for a podcast dedicated to the recording process you’d think they would try a little harder to get the talking parts and music to the same volume
-
S. choirGood content, Edited horriblyEvery time someone speaks, they play a song like they’re about to go to commercial. Then the super unnecessary narrator announces the next person getting interviewed, you start to get into it, and that’s when they do it all over again with a different person with no segue. I watched “A year and half in the life of Metallica” repeatedly as a kid, so it’s cool to revisit and hear new stories about this album. But it’s the audio equivalent of someone finding all the pictures from a specific time, putting them in a photo album in no order, and expecting the person looking at them to figure out the story of said time. I don’t know who they have editing and piecing this thing together, but they should’ve gotten Bob Rock instead.
-
andywankenobiOnly 2 episodes in and it's kinda mehA forty-eight minute podcast with only 20 minutes of actual content. The female narrator is awful. Anyone listening to this knows Lars Ulrich is the drummer of Metallica. I could do without the interludes of songs from the album, it just ruins the flow. Let the band members talk and share their memories, we don't need to pad it with 30-second sound bites from the Black album.
-
NaturesfoolReally cool, man!Great to get to hear the band talk about the musical and lyrical processes, the good times they had, and things they liked and disliked. I especially love what the band manager spoke about; how fans relate to James through his lyrics. That’s certainly true for me. He was like the dude at the front with a torch, leading the way saying “on through the never we must go”. This band got me through the darkest period of my life thus far, and for that I guess my repayment of a five star rating on their podcast will have to do. Metallica forever!

scapegoat178This podcast is flippin’ cool!Very entertaining and interesting.
-

-
jackmaster414 #adGreat podcastTotally cool and amazing for people who lik Metallica
-
Cortez483Love this podcastI’m really enjoying the opportunity to get a peek behind the curtain of my favorite metal band.
-
Tallica86Awesomeness!!With all the Metallica podcasts out there, we now get to hear about our favorite band from the guys themselves!! Love it!!!
-
Buffcode18Great stories with bad formatting4 stars because of the great subject matter and perspectives from many people. Not 5 stars because somebody decided that the narrator should be an over-produced posh mechanical British voice. I cannot overstate how annoying it is.
-
LizGomez1Is this a podcast or VH1 Behind the Music?Love the stories but the format is totally off. This is not a podcast. Hey it's 2021 guys. Tell your producers to get it right. It's like I'm in the 90s watching a VH1 Behind the Music during the Load era or something. I was listening on my way to work and had to turn it off because it was making me dizzy with the terrible editing. Please have a normal conversation (and just give Lars a timer because if not, he'll talk forever).
-
Ruffy GirlGreat!Hearing the band talk about the music that has meant so much to me for forty years is great! I enjoyed the first episode and I’m excited to hear more.
-
Trew45Finally A Real Metallica PodcastI am really enjoy reading and hearing about everything about the Black Album during its 30th Anniversary. Just like everything Metallica does, They gave 110% and this podcast is A+. \m/
-
SofaKingLameDecent but could be betterI’ll listen to anything involving Metallica so this was a no brainer. Kind of disappointing though. Poorly edited, jumps around way too much between different sound bites and parts of songs that it becomes a disjointed mess. There was some good nuggets from Lars and James that it left me wanting more and wishing this was done better.
-
BaronmuahahahaYawnEhh. Yawn. Get personal. Tell us something new, something deeper.
-
Fixxxer6671YIKESDid anybody else find it hard to listen too? It kept jumping around and made no sense.
-
Wyld WeasilA bit overproducedIf this was just straight up conversations it'd be great, instead it's a bunch of cut and pasted excerpts from other conversations that jump back and forth. An episode with 2 or so members having a chat would've been better. The Narration doesn't help. The outro with the credits explained why it's like this, too many cooks in the kitchen here. It's like they told someone who never listened to a podcast before to make one. Hopefully it gets better
-
fmfitz13Metallica is GodIt captures the feel of loving Metallica as they evolved into a force beyond the tangible.
-
PolishmikebbbbThis isn’t a PodcastIt is very clear that the producers of this have never listened to a podcast and are unfamiliar with the format. Hearing the long form interviews in their entirety would, in my opinion, be a lot more interesting that this shotgun blast of seemingly random sound bites.
-
zxweaselUnderwhelmingI’m sorry but this podcast is VERY poorly produced, and that over modulated British woman is annoying. I’m a 25 year fan and was very disappointed in how lacking the first episode was. They have Jason talking about his role in the band while they are still discussing the origin story of Metallica, playing black album songs while discussing AJFA. I was very confused at some points about where they were in the history, and how we got to certain points. Hopefully it gets better.
-
AshleyBrooke1986Metal all the way!I have been a Metallica fan since I was a teenager and I love hearing the history of the band from the members and everyone that has helped along the way. Can’t wait to hear more 🤘🏼
-
Ghele0Great band…actually the greatest ;)
-
Amy276Origin story of legendary bandNice to hear about the formation of Metallica from the band members themselves and the cast of characters who helped shape their future. Looking forward to more episodes! 🤘💪🤘

Marcus the hungrySounds phenomenalMetallica Podcast sounds phenomenal like a Epic PCast should, this Rocks!
-
StylishKateMetallica Love!Love them! It’s wonderful hearing the story of how it started from them. Thank you, Metallica! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
-
TonyB625Very Underwhelming! No deep insights. Nothing we haven’t heard before. Not sure who produced/directed this but it wasn’t aimed at the fanbase - and is too niche to appeal to non-fans. The template should have been Lars’ radio show. Intelligent conversations revealing tons of tidbits nobody knew about. This is a glorified Wikipedia page in audio form. It’s overproduced and underdelivers. Glancing at feedback on Reddit and social media, I’m not alone in this opinion.
-
ThibsJLearned something new!Big fan, always have been, always will be. Wasn’t expecting the jump back to the ‘tallica origins but I did find the re-telling of those stories interesting. What I wasn’t aware of previously was the band’s views on the Justice album. That whole segment was fascinating. Sounds like James, Lara and Kirk were all together for the podcast sessions, but Jason was recorded separately. I wish they were all in one room was my only complaint. Thanks for yet another peek into the minds of the ‘tallica team. You guys never disappoint because you are fans at heart too and you always have that in mind with whatever you’re putting out. \m/\m/
