    Bright spot to my mornings!!!
I can’t thank you enough! To hear thoughtful and faithful conversations about the delight and nuance we can learn in scripture! I can’t tell you what an encouragement this is to me!

    A regular staple
My wife and I love this podcast. It's helped us feel that we're not alone in some of the struggles we go through. We really enjoy your vulnerability, humility and wisdom. And we think Nijay is funnier ;) (love you AJ)

    Can’t recommend this enough!
So so grateful for this podcast- such a beautiful mix of deep thought and honest feelings, while consistently leading back to humility and the Word. I’ve found myself audibly cheering as I listen- it’s just that good!

    Thank you
Slow theology has been a tool that Jesus is using to change my life. Faithful teaching, responsible nuance, and pastoral care cuts through on this show. Thank you AJ and Nijay for being who God has made you to be in Christ! Keep going.

    Worth Your Time
It is rare to find great scholarship that is broken down into such easy to understand words as applicability. Their study on the Lord’s Prayers I’ve listened to at least three times; it is that rich, that good, that edifying. Love this podcast. Highly recommend.

    So much revelation
I love listening to these guys, they don’t agree with each other for the sake of the podcast. They each give their own belief or stance and each of their perspectives is always based on their study of the word. If you want to listen to two guys who base what they believe on the word of God, this is the podcast for you. People are always starting podcasts based off of what they believe but these guys, it is obvious that the word is their foundation!

SLOW THEOLOGY HAS FAST BECOME MY FAVORITE!
I love this dialogue between A. J. and Neejay, two theologians from different traditions, who come together to discuss relevant topics, cultural trends, through the lens of scripture and theology. This podcast is rekindling my faith!

    Good Advice
There’s a verse (or maybe saying) that says he who walks with the wise will become wise. My mind is often refreshed by the wisdom from these 2 brothers who are living in the same world as me, though I’ve never met them.

These two scholars are fun to listen to and I’m learning new treasures from God’s word.

    Prophetic and poignant
I discovered Slow Theology after reading After Doubt - a book I DEVOURED that God used to finally draw me from deconstruction to reconstruction…this podcast has been such a deep well that’s nourished my soul. Nijay and AJ have such articulate, nuanced and candid conversations that both encourage my faith and motivate me to love God and others more deeply, and don’t shy away from the messy or complicated parts of Scripture and church tradition. Thank you both SO very much for your faithful work!

The Podcast We ALL Need …
This podcast has been such a God-send for me, not only because I’m a young pastor but also because of the friends around me who have walked through deconstruction and doubt in their faith. Both AJ & Nijay are two theological minds I have respected for a long time because of how much they’ve taught me personally - but in listening to their podcast I’ve come to admire their pastoral hearts so much too. They make theology so palatable and understandable - both to a seminary graduate or to a brand new Christian. This podcast has deeply impacted my faith and ministry. So so thankful for them. Please never stop! :) this is probably the number one shared podcast I send out to my network - and that’s coming from a huge podcast girly! lol Bless you both!

    Thanks y’all
Good topics and conversations! Very encouraging. Thank you for not always pointing to an “answer”, but a person.

    Singleness…
You’re wrong. Jesus was married/partnered with Mary Madeline.

    Just what I needed
I’ve been searching for content that wasn’t just about deconstruction but also about reconstruction. This podcast is just what I was looking for and what I need at this time. Thank you both for what you are doing!

    Hipster sounding Anti LGBTQ podcast.
This might sound progressive, but be warned about the theological beliefs of Swaboda. He once compared coming out as a Christian to coming out of the closet. These are foursquare dudes trying to pretend they are progressive.

    More episodes, please!
I’ve been checking every week all summer for new episodes. I hope they keep putting out new content because it’s one of the only things that’s kept my hope alive in a hard season of deconstruction.

    Awesome Podcast
I really enjoy these episodes especially after having Dr. Swoboda as a professor.

    Refreshing and Theological
I’ve loved Dr. Swoboda’s thoughts ever since he was one of my seminary professors. Dr. Gupta and AJ make a great team and do a graceful and thoughtful job at tackling some of Christianity’s toughest issues.

    The best!
Hands down my favorite podcast!! AJ and Nijay speak about what has been unmentionable in my Christian experience...doubting God. In 2020 I had an avalanche of darkness: loss of my brother to cancer, leaving me now the only living member of my immediate family; Covid closed down my job, isolation, then a deep deep depression. I wish I had been able to hear their words during that time. But God in His wisdoms and timing knew I needed to wrestle with my faith and doubt...and He brought me out on the other side! I have listened and relistened to these episodes. Just bought your book and eagerly waiting for its arrival. Keep this going please!

A Vital Space to Explore the Way of Jesus
A.J. and Nijay are scholars who are pastors and teachers who learners. Most importantly they leaders who are also deeply devoted followers of Jesus. They wrestle in real time with what it looks life to faithfully doubt and honestly believe. Their conversations are vulnerable, wise, thoughtful and rich. They create a safe space for anyone and everyone to explore the way of Jesus. This podcast offers a much needed path that bridges the chasm between dogmatic apologetics and destructive deconstruction. I pastor a church in Portland, OR filled with people seeking to follow Jesus truthfully in a post-Christian world. It is a maddeningly complex landscape. These two gents are sage guides for that journey.

    Well articulated and important
I have been recommending this to many college aged followers of Christ these days. Excellent.

    Great!
I’m always excited to learn from these guys about how doubt can be part of normal life for normal people, especially everyday Christians.

    Incredibly Helpful
I was taught for the longest time that doubt and faith could not coexist and I struggled within this because my mind would always race to doubt (and still does). Does make my faith any less real and this podcast analyzes things in a real way that have helped me with this struggle. Thank you for your work here. TM

    Great Scholars chatting as brothers
In Faith & Doubt is an amazing podcast hosted by two highly respected scholars. Although one could fear things would become to technical for laypeople, both speak on relevant topics with a simplicity that can aid the church greatly. I love to listen to it while I drink coffee and walk to class! Highly recommended for all Christians ! LZ

    Rich conversations
This podcast has the feel of sitting at a coffee shop with friends. Gupta and Swoboda aren’t only relatable, but the deep thought and scholarship behind the conversations give us the gift of wrestling with our beliefs about God in a rooted way. These are conversations that the church needs to have, and I am so thankful they are showing us how to have them. -A. Riggs

    Filling a Gap
There’s a lot of great podcasts out there, but this one unlike many actually fills in a gap. Not overly academic, but tangible and realized. Gordon S.

    Target Audience: Every Christian Ever
This is a pretty solid podcast. The concept behind it is one worth diving into. There are pretty good odds that every other Christian podcast will at least touch on faith and doubt at some point. Maybe they’ll spend an episode or two talking about the difficulties of faith, but this podcast from AJ and Nijay is one dedicated to subject. What makes it worthwhile is that you have two academics reflecting on their own bouts with faithlessness. What this allows is biblically sound teaching on matters every Christian has questions about. They use timely illustrations, reference the Church’s history on the subject, and aren’t afraid to admit their own struggles with a faith in the Christian God. I’m excited to see where the podcast goes and how AJ and Nijay continue to minister to other on this topic. - DTM

    A New Favorite
I LOVE this podcast, it's quickly becoming a new favorite. Nijay and AJ are not only great thinkers but great guys, and it comes through on their podcast. If you're looking for a podcast that won't shy away from difficult questions, but does so in a way that seeks to encourage rather than tear down, then this is the podcast for you. - CGC

Very helpful for those with questions
Gupta and Swobada don’t give all of the answers but they create a space for people to ask questions. So often people think that asking questions is a rejection of God, but they demonstrate that it’s okay to ask questions, have doubt, and be confused by the faith. But unlike other podcasts that discuss theological deconstruction, they don’t teach the listeners an “anything goes” mentality. They have theological affirmations they cling to and they want all people experiencing doubt to ultimately trust God, but they approach hard conversations as pastors not as raging street preachers. Love me some good theology.
In the realm of good theology podcasts, In Faith and Doubt hits the top of the list for sure. The explanations are fantastic, the voices are buttery smooth, and the content is packed full of what we, as followers of Jesus, should be thinking about. -Mike May

    Encouraging Insight! Highly recommended.
So far so good! I'm very happy to recommend In Faith & Doubt for anyone looking to be encouraged in their faith and Christian vocation in a day when so many elements of our faith are "up in the air". Great topics, helpful discussion. I'm looking forward to more! - M. Leiter

    Needed and Helpful
I’m so grateful for the time and energy Nijay and A.J. Have given to this topic. There are a number of people on my life who are walking through a period of deconstruction and the hosts provide needed insight to normalize this process and provide a greater perspective of the good that can come from deconstruction. Grateful to these men for their faithfulness to the Jesus, the Scriptures, and serving the church! JA

    So Good!
Nijay and AJ offer insight into questions so many are struggling with today, I value their perspectives. This has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts.

    Honest and needed
This podcast is a safe space for anyone who is questioning their faith or even questioning Christianity from afar. The deep dive into real questions result in hopeful discussions that aim to bring people into a closer relationship with God. The banter between AJ and Nijay is smart, honest, critical, and they ask questions too! The episode on deconstruction gives space for many of us who feel like Christianity has failed us. Using scripture and personal stories they provide hope and provide building blocks to rekindle a relationship with Christ.

    Reassuring with fresh perspectives
In our faith and belief-obsessed religious culture today, this is an excellent new podcast by a couple of up-and-coming theologians who provide a fresh perspective on the doubts that inevitably lead to deconstruction and reconstruction of our views on religion. I look forward to following this series as they continue to press forward into new areas where weak faith is shaken and new opportunities open up for stronger faith to take root.

    Timely and important
This podcast provides space for a timely, important conversation. What an incredible resource for anyone who is navigating conversations between Christian faith and intellectual questioning! Teachers, campus ministers, disciple-makers, pastors, parents and friends of college students should listen and be encouraged.

    So helpful and needed
In a day we’re deconstruction in vogue and sexy, the Church needs tools and helpful think to love people well during this stage of life/faith. Faith and Doubt gets right to the heart of it and offers a fresh and helpful way of seeing what is happening to mostly young adults who have grown up in the church. My desire is to see every church grow in an ability to help people navigate the reality of doubt, questions and culture while stile keeping connected to Jesus. This is a great resource to learn more and think better about deconstruction.
  • Jrey8719
    Super helpful
Nijay and AJ bring expertise and a relatability that results in an excellent podcast (after 2 episodes at lease!). Deconstruction is all the rage these days, and they bring insights that are proving useful on my own journey. Their passion for helping people face their doubts and come out on the other side loving Jesus more fully, and still living in the tension, is obvious and compelling.

    Excellent conversation
Really enjoyed the discussion; enlarged my view of doubt in relation to faith.

    Hope in Doubt
What a refreshing way to see that doubt is actually a way to confirm being on the road of faith and not a wrongly assumed exit from faith. This is good news and helpful wisdom needed today.
