    Beginning My Day
John Ortberg & his staff/family/friends help me start my day pointing my heart in the right direction. The teachings remind me of the little pray I learned as a child & still use today: “God be in my thoughts. God be in my words. God be in my heart.” We all know where your heart leads so your actions follow.

    Among the best
Bursts of wisdom, empathy, from a man deeply grounded in the word of God, church history, and God’s love. Read his book “Soul Keeping”, a classic.

    Observation
John talks about Jesus in passing and all the other books his reads take center stage. He is NOT as into Jesus as he is into Dallas Willard. Why is that?

So glad to be hearing from John Ortberg in this way. He is down to earth and comes across as a normal guy….just like the rest of us, although very wise and studied. After everything he and his family have been through he continues to give and teach, support and love. Greatly admired, greatly respected. Worth a listen.

    Daily inspiration and spiritual focus
My wife and I have been listening to John’s messages and reading his books with our life groups for more than 20 years… His perspective, inspired by the Holy Spirit, is always insightful, challenging, motivational and ultimately helps all of us be encouraged in our walk with Christ in a fallen world. We are excited to be part of the community of the withered hand and have been enjoying, learning, growing and journaling daily the wisdom and faith practices at the Holy Spirit shares with us daily thru the becomenew.me podcasts.
