I’m late to the party on this one, but it’s my new favorite. Love all the stories and the way they’re delivered!

Amazing stories, well written, part of the Badlands and Disgraceland universe… all RUINED by this ridiculously awful voice which is even worse for the million different cuts for seemingly every line. Stories should be told by storytellers, and this ain’t it. Shame.

I loved Eleanor’s precious account Pamela Courson. It was a lovely de-vilification of the young lady who was, but never was, Jim Morrison’s wife.

The episode about Lou and Rachel simply sparkles with poetry, depth, understanding, respect, humor and insight. I am so impressed, though I was already a fan based on the other episodes. This one is particulary beautiful, and Rachel needed this. She deserves her place in history. Thank you for the excellent writing, please always continue whether in this medium or any other.

Great to hear about the strong women behind the men. So glad they aren’t forgotten.

I’m enjoying the storytelling of the new season a lot. Some of the other episodes felt like it focused more on the abuses these women faced at the hands of these famous men. Feels more like “Abusers and Groomers” than about a girl. I wish I learned more about these women and their accomplishments, not just the abuses they had to overcome. This new season seems to be getting away from that though.

The voice is so bad it ruins good content bummer.

I discovered this podcast from an advertisement and immediately followed it. The stories presented are so intimately told about people I thought I knew something about, but this proves you never really know the whole story. This is the best podcast in my library, hands down.

I enjoy this podcast because of the point of view (the “heroine” of the duo”), the content, and the narrator’s voice.

The stories are interesting, it is very well produced and the narrator / host is very good.

Background music often drowns out the story. Other than that … it’s good.

Nikki Lynette takes us through tales of the women behind the musicians we grew up with. Never once does she make them out as victims but finds the silver lining in these women’s stories. Nikki’s voice is great for late night.

Love the content of the show but too many jarring ads right in the middle of the cast. Do them all first and get it over with so your listeners can enjoy the stories.

The title says it all. Ever since I saw Almost Famous forever ago I’ve been craving stories about the women behind the musicians we love. Stories that we need to know and hear.

The narrator is terrible; talks way too fast , without emotion. It’s like she is speed reading . Hard to listen to .

I thought I was only one who found her voice annoying. I really wish there was another narrator because the content is interesting.

This podcast is direct, detailed, intriguing, and best of all it’s about the women who took a somewhat silent but pivotal backdrop in getting these icons to where they reached their pinnacles. Even the theme music makes me tear up a bit knowing how important these women were/are. Well done.

Finally! These kinds of stories need to be told! Everyone should hear this show!

Range & scope of research is impeccable. Eleanor Wells does a very impressive job delivering each mini-bio in an ear pleasing manner allowing the listener to enjoy in the car as well as while drifting asleep. I only wish that the episodes where longer & greater in volume…can’t get enough!

So far I’ve only listened to season one and Eleanor Wells is excellent! Really unique voice. I usually hate vocal fry and I’m just not getting this from her. The content is really rich and extremely well written. This offers a unique perspective on the topic. ( People who slam it by comparing it to the other way inferior pod are way off base: same subject matter is open to anyone to take on! It is in no way plagiarism! This pod is on it’s own planet and actually gives us an originally crafted take!)

History and life. So good and have known some of the stories and some have bee great surprises. Wish there was more episodes.

Started listening to this on recommendation and enjoyed it so much that I binged the whole thing, I can’t wait for the next season.

This is one of my favorite podcasts ever. The hosts of both seasons have such soothing voices and the way the stories are put together makes it so easy to binge this show. I love hearing about music from another perspective and can’t wait for Season 3! The only thing missing would be clips of the music they mention.

I stumbled across this podcast and I binged the first season right away. Love the narrator of Season 1 and the narrator of season 2 is even better! The drama and presentation of these episodes is fire. It really makes you want to know more about these women who took a backseat to their more famous and iconic partners. Love it!

I just discovered this podcast and listened to the Dusty Springfield episode. It was so good it almost made me cry. If you love music and the people who make it, you will love hearing the stories of the women behind the scenes. Now I’m off to binge the rest of the episodes…

This takes me right back to all the yesterdays. This is an amazing show, the narrator has a beautiful buttery voice. It’s nice to hear about the women behind the greats. (Not so greats?) I’ve already shared this with several other women. Great podcast!

The host is impossible to hear with the music in the back ground. It’s like she whispering into the mic/ is talking with something in her mouth. Not enjoyable to listen to, but concept is great.
