yojimbo65Finding Fun in Failure!I followed Trev over from the Kaiju Transmissions podcast and I’ve enjoyed every episode so far. It is amazing how many of the films they have covered I had actually ponied up to see in the theater (ULTRAVIOLET). The structure of each episode is similar: Trev’s Intro. Chris gives the budget and box office returns. There follows some background on the film’s development. Then trailer and a brief synopsis are followed by the discussion of the films merits (or lack there of) by the hosts. Chris’ flippancy aside, the pair deliver some very interesting facts about each of the films. They do their research. The age difference in the hosts also offers a unique perspective on what works and what doesn’t. But the best recommendation I can give the podcast is that, with each episode, Chris and Trev manage to pique my interest in the film they covered. Whether it is a rewatch of something I had seen and liked (DREDD or SPEED RACER) or one I had never watched before (SALT or BATTLESHIP). They manage to make even drek like CATWOMAN entertaining. If you are looking for a fresh take on some cinematic misfires and should’ve beens, give these guys a listen. I just wish Chris would ease up on the f-bombs. Then MAYBE I could listen with my kids in the car. ;)

jellydonut25Stellar showA fantastic show that really makes you feel like you’ve learned a little something about an infamous moment in cinema history every time you let it bend your ears.

WayToTheDawnBaffledFound this podcast while trying to find some fresh film takes and was excited to give this one a try! However, the conversations are boring and meandering, a lot of movies they cover were never intended to be franchises to begin with, and don’t get me started on their terrible themed puns. Hard pass.

The GrayjediUnique and entertainingA fascinating concept for a movie podcast. One of the podcasts I look forward to most. Every movie is thoroughly researched and explored.

The Real Luke SkywalkerUnlike some of the films in this, this franchise is a winnerDespite the fact that most of the films they cover are failures, this podcast never FAILS to entertain. Trev and Chris have a terrific chemistry and always manage to find entertaining discussions, even if the film they’re discussing is a complete dud. They give the films a fair shake, honest criticism and do it in a way that you don’t hear as much given all the snark in film talk these days. 5/5. Would fully recommend.

Ghwriter1976Already HookedWas just introduced to Failure to Franchise last week, and I've already labeled it as one of my favorite binging shows. I've been a fan of Trev for years, having written with him on 411Mania.com, and I'm very excited to hear what else he and Chris have to offer.
