Cannot stand the host

Talk about someone who thinks she knows everything and is gods gift to man…. She’s excruciating to listen to

Not sure why kara swisher is hosting this. Succession is not a tech show. Pretty much every other podcast I’ve listened to on succession has been better. The host simply repeats the loglines and reviews of the show.

Podcast is a great source for insights on the show and getting to know more about the details and behind the scenes action. Taking two stars away because of the host who isn’t very good at her job. It would be a much more pleasant experience had they kept the previous one.

I thought this would be a recap and explanation of the episodes. I don’t like it.

If you scan the reviews of this podcast, you find the host is repeatedly being characterized as “insufferable”. I think that descriptor applies perfectly. I’m not sure why HBO decided to replace the original host - who was funny, intelligent, engaging and knowledgeable about the show with this unprepared blow-hard who doesn’t ask good questions or let her guests talk!?! An incredible show that deserves a much better podcast to accompany it.

The previous host was so much better. Kara makes this show about topics outside of Succession. We don’t care about if this would be the same in real life. Let’s go back to talking to cast and their interpretations as it was for the first season of this podcast. Kara’s monotone obvious reading off of a piece of paper delivery is truly awful to listen to. How the heck did she get this job as a podcast host? Please HBO do not use Hosts who can’t deliver naturally

Hey Kara-I’m sick of hearing your bias about Fox News, Trump, etc. Also sick of you turning the convo back to yourself. Stick to the show. Your losing me. Fast.

The guests are a delight to listen to but the host proves almost as unbearable as the Roy children themselves. Her tendency to interrupt and contradict her guests, presuming to have more insight into the show than its creators and actors, is grating. So wish we have do-overs with a different host!

Kara Swisher takes up too much space to host this podcast. I’m not familiar with her other work, but she overpowers this podcast. She doesn’t create a space that allows the interviewees to organically share the information in their heads. It’s unfortunate.

Enjoyed this as much as i enjoyed the show. Sad to see it go but the last episode had me laughing out loud with Logan send off. Well done 😊

Kara swisher is so annoying. She responds so often with “I’ve seen that many times” it’s pathetic. Ruins the show

I think Jeremy is a brilliant actor and clearly went deep in this role. I wonder why most of my friends and family refused to watch the series: bad people behaving badly, they say. They’ve missed the point: abusive power versus tortured love. Modern day Shakespeare.

Yes it was but it wore itself down and become repetitive, later seasons it feels like an SNL parody of itself. The host of this podcast is interesting and as glib as the characters in the show. She describes the Roy kids as not being “hugged enough” uhhh they were emotionally and physically abused. Being rich doesn’t make it less traumatic.

Swishers commentary and personal injection of her experience with the American elite creates a cringe podcast. Highly recommend Prestige TV pod for fans who want to take a deep dive into the characters and story with folks who love TV and Succession. Hoping Max won’t hire Swisher for future work, as she blew this exceptional pod opportunity.

Each time I listen to this I come away despising Kara Swisher more and more. She brags that she knows tech billionaires. She turns the conversation back to herself incessantly. She’s condescending to the actual talented people she is interviewing. How did she get this gig??There are so many better podcasts.

Host's constant interjections "I've been at parties like that", "I know these people in real life", "I've advised tech leaders" etc. are tiresome, self-important and render this show unlistenable.

I’m sure the host is a successful, accomplished woman. But this show is not about her, her political beliefs, or her opinions about people. When the podcast is actually about Secession, I enjoy it. I just wish the host would simply host. I’m begging you, please re-record the last few episodes with a tolerable host. I love the idea of the podcast, I just cannot handle her. Seriously Kara, your hatred of Elon is unhealthy!

Must listen to companion to the show. I love Kara Swisher’s sardonic and informed take on this world. Podcast reflects her deep background in tech but also her fandom for the show. And I enjoy hearing ft the actors, writers and directors who make the show.

Loving the insight from the creators, actors, and consultants. So much goes into the making of this show and I will never not be impressed with the writing, directing, and incredible acting. Can’t help but laugh at the snowflake one star reviews, amazing how just being a woman brings the bigotry out in full force. Why are y’all watching this show in the first place, satire is clearly too complex for you.

Loved this interview with Skarsgard and Strong. I enjoyed KS’s questions, but I have some also, that would love to ask. Observation: After hearing JS speak to the park bench looking out at the water scene. Of course I thought, he’ll jump. When he didn’t I was relieved. Kendall had hope for Kendall, after all. Plus, his tragedyies up until now would all have been eclipsed, had he jumped. Also, I had hope for him, and wondered, what might he, Shiv and Roman have become, had they been born into just a family, not an empire. They all had been denied of any hopefulness, creativity, or possibility for realizing their true natures. I always felt that their fear of Logan, need to base their entire self-worth on his approval, (which was wielded cruelly) played a huge role in who they thought they were, and who they thought their siblings were. Who were they, really, if they had not been modeled at a young age to be soulless and cynical. Why did not one of them buck the old man?

I love this show so so so much. Succession. Not this podcast. Kara Swisher is so self righteous and her constant virtue signaling is so tiresome.

The season finale was horrible! It was the worst I have ever seen! Shiv is a horrible person and I hope the show doesnt go on and on that it was in any way good

Kara Swisher is a good host, but how does she get interviews in her day job? She makes no secret of her contempt for everyone she’s interviewed in the tech & business world. It’s hysterical, but wow—I don’t know how can she get anyone to talk to her knowing what she thinks of them.

She is among other things dismissive, arrogant, controlling, not sincerely interested in her interviewers, and just a plain turn off.

Kara Swisher is the perfect host of a podcast about a perfect show. No one interviews better. Never miss an episode. I love Kara Swisher.

Love the cast input but the host has an agenda. Her rants minimize the writer’s’ talents.

Show took a major nose dive. Each episode is worst than the last. Why even bring the show back if you had nothing left to add? No substance. Filler

TLDR; Corporate HBO PR garbage. For a fan oriented podcast get Slate Money Succession. If the host was a male it would described as Toxic The host, Kara Swisher has one talent, being a fierce attack dog, charmless but effective and vicious, she is good at interviews but she has not business hosting a show. This podcast feels like is was concocted in some bareknuckle negotiating at HBO corporate HQ, in which Kara blackmailed some executive into giving her this podcast. If you want to hear a podcast that dissects and unpacks every morsel of this incredible show listen to Slate Money Succession.

I freakin love this show. It is a shame that the host is so obviously partisan with her politics. She only has guests that are leftists, or the Obama staffer, with their slants to talk smack. WHY RUIN A GOOD THING with a host that can’t get past herself? I would really love to talk about the characters and the story-not Kara’s uppity elitist opinions. She can’t wait to get in barbs about conservatives and force her spin on us. Ugh.

I enjoy most of the questions by the host, the playback of scenes and commentary by the actors/writers, BUT the host is too liberal/left-leaning, and it kind of biases the listener way too much. Her opinions shouldn’t influence the discussions. A centered Independent non-biased interviewer would make Podcast more enjoyable.

Would much rather hear an analysis on each episode. Don’t want to hear from a celebrity funeral planner! Who cares!!!!

A valuable asset for us to get a deeper perspective into the fascinating characters on each episode of Succession Kara is great host because she doesn’t waste a word or a moment of time. A fabulous no-nonsense approach.

I love the show but the podcast is terrible. It is about 60% content about the show and 40% political commentary from the host. Hard pass.

Kara Swisher is so insufferably partisan, it is hard to listen. Succession has a mix of right-leaning and left-leaning characters, which is a reflection of real life in this country, whether the host likes it or not. This podcast would be so much better if the host could keep her politics and opinions to herself, and just talk about each episode of this amazing series in a neutral way.

Couldn’t care less about this host’s opinion about Fox and forcing a political narrative convo - just stick to the series and keep your personal propaganda to yourself

I don’t care about the host’s feelings about FOX news, etc. I listened a bit but just too much about the host and not enough about the show itself.

The ego of Kara Swisher is hard to take. She seems to consider herself exceptional simply for having been in the orbit of a bunch of megalomaniacal tech bros. She constantly name drops and unnecessarily inserts herself into the narrative, which detracts from what would otherwise be a nice complement to an amazing show.

Host is hard to listen to… comes off as arrogant/braggy. Doesn’t ask valuable questions to guests and her input is often misguided. Unfortunate that this is the “official” podcast for the show. Wasted opportunity.

I LOVE the show! I like the analysis and the deeper look at the characters as well as a look into similar real world situations that mirror the series! It is an interesting take on the culture of the extremely wealthy and appears to be more realistic than other adaptations of the 1%. I respect the writers and find it odd that some listeners believe they know the characters better than the people who created them .

it often feels like she’s trying to push her own interpretation and bias on the guest and pushes it until they agree. there’s a lot of name dropping, we get it, she’s worked with a lot of billionaires…

Podcast could do with a lot less of the host’s name dropping and constant attempts to interject herself into just about anything that’s being discussed.

you’ve had some great guests but unfortunately the host (Kara Swisher) ruins the show. she is completely unappealing to listen to and adds nothing.
