    Love the couples!
Have just adored listening to the couples you’ve been having on. It’s clear y’all are great friends and it’s really fun to hear you laugh and encourage one another.

Could not love this show more
As a frequent mom visitor to Dadville- I just have to say that I could not love this show more. Also- after the Steve Moakler episode I checked …and the Pontiac Coffee House is sadly permanently closed 😂- but the yelp images made the Girl Scout story truly come to life. Thank you for your laughs and wisdom -shared with dads and moms alike!

    Change the name
Please change the show name to “Interviews with musicians by musicians for musicians”. Or, go back to conversation about “awesome dadding”. Man I miss the good ole days.

    My favorite podcast!!
I’m just a guy in my early 20s who’s not a dad- not quite even married yet- but I discovered this podcast a handful of months ago & cannot get enough of it! I highly recommend to everyone new to this podcast that you go all the way back to the 1st episode & listen through. It’s so worth it! Thank you guys for the goofiness, humor, & engagement, as well as the great guests, candor, & desire to grow deeper in your pursuit of Christ & your family. Although I don’t plan on having kids in the near foreseeable future, I want to begin to grow, be challenged by, & occasionally (ok, it definitely happens more than occasionally haha) get my toes stepped on to help me be a better future father, as well as a better man, son, grandson, disciple, etc. today. This has already helped me immensely & will continue to be a tool I return to when I first step foot into Dadville myself one day. Thank y’all for everything & keep up the good work!

    Dadvillleeeee!!!
Gentlemen!!! What an absolute pleasure it is to listen to you guys each week! It’s always good for a laugh, sometimes a good cry and always some random stories and rants!!! By the way, I’m a single woman in my early 40’s, so not just for Dads! Thanks so much, I love listening to this podcast week. It has encouraged my walk with God in many ways. Do yourself a favour people, follow and listen!

    The Best!!!
I started listening just a bit ago, and I only have two episodes left…and I’m very sad about that!! I have so enjoyed listening to each episode, have laughed, cried and have gained some meaningful, life-giving suggestions and uplifting spiritual comfort throughout. Thank you! Ready for more!!

    Bring on Cory!
Love you guys and can’t wait for you to talk to the most positive person in the music business: Cory Wong. You guys will be besties forever if you’re not already! Many thanks.

    Plan to lol every episode
I’m not a dad I’m not even a guy but I love this show. I probably look like a lunatic driving to work laughing. I recommend this show to all the dads in my life though

    Amazing!!
I’ve been a fan of Jon’s music for a long time (last show I went to was in Ann Arbor in 2018) and recently started to listen to Dave’s as well, and I wish I had started listening to the podcast sooner!! I’ve been listening for about a month, catching up on lots of episodes, and have been so encouraged and laughed so much. My wife is pretty much at her limit with my podcast stories at this point. I just finished the podcast with Tom Douglas as I rocked my newborn back to sleep- what a POWERFUL episode. The deep thoughts flowing from all 3 of you made me feel like I needed to turn around and relisten! I love the mix of deep insights and lighthearted banter you always bring - you guys do it well. It’s clear that it’s a passion! If I come to a show in the future, I’ll likely act like I know you since I’m listening every week - feel free to say I’m giving off creeper vibes and that a picture together is enough.

You never know what you’re gonna get. Some episodes have literally changed my outlook on life while others have left me giggling uncontrollably for hours afterwards. I love Dadville and can’t recommend it enough.

    Refreshingly authentic
They guys do an extraordinary job of not taking themselves too seriously while also tackling the foundational pillars of living life to the full.

    Hilarious, Encouraging Podcast
There are lots of comedy based podcasts out there, but this is the first comedy podcast that also leaves me feeling more excited to be a dad and husband. Dave and Jon have a casual demeanor to where it feels like I’m just sitting in the room with them talking and sharing in conversation with them. The guests have been interesting and incredibly insightful (Stephen James especially). This is officially my favorite podcast and I can’t stop telling other people I know about it and something I’ve learned. Thank you both! **Update: y’all have introduced me to several of my favorite speakers authors, including these people: Chip (Chippy) Dodd, David Thomas, Stephen James, Curt Thompson, Al Andrews, Sissy Goff. The impact you all have had on me through your own stories - especially with Chip Dodd - and the guests you have hosted has been huge. Thank you for doing this podcast.

Favorite new podcast. I feel seen and I laugh so much.
Love you both, your music, and your heart. What a blessing to a dad and pastor in his 40’s. Listened to the Shane and Shane episode. All the feels and nostalgia and all the same comments and questions. Like y’all were reading my mind and sayin what I would have said. They were major in my life when I came to faith and started leading worship and even during my time in the industry in Nashville in the 2000s. Now a church planter and pastor, they are still in my weekly rotation of songs for my personal time and their songs and arrangements are in our church’s regular rotation. Oh and I tried the triple strum in college and literally injured my wrist! Ha!! Thanks for this episode and this podcast.

WOW- Let me take that thorn/ It is finished
98th episode with Barry Dean “I hope it doesn’t feel unfinished.” “I’ll see them again.” “I love them for who they are.” Thanks Dave and Jon for sharing your friends, your world, your wisdom and your laughs with all of us! You inspire moms like me just as much as the dads you are going after!
  • Valleym9
    Drags on
I love both of these hosts and have been a die hard fan of Dave’s since his beginning in the music world. I used to love this podcast but now it just drags on and on. It’s entirely too long and the amount of giggling while cute can be irritating when trying to get to the point of the interviews. Overall, I think I’m just over it, I’ve been hopeful the episodes would start to be less than an hour but they keep getting longer and longer.
  • sad this didn't work
    Not your typical demographic
As 62 year old grandmother I am not your target audience, but I enjoy the interviews you guys have and the deep questions you ask. Thanks to AFD for introducing me to you both.
  • chclhod
Thank you - for the dad learning and for the joy
I’m 27 years old. Not a dad yet, but hoping to be in the next 1-2 years. I without hesitation can say that this podcast has brought me so much joy, it should be illegal. Fantastic interviews, some absurdly funny episodes, and lots to be learned. Thank you for asking such great questions and putting this into the world. EDIT, 1ish year later: Don’t you people know I’m trying to work here? No seriously. I can’t do my job AND listen to your podcast, so how am I going to sustain my family? If I have to tell my boss I can’t focus because Andrew Peterson’s episode is making me tear up, I’m going to lose it. And by it I mean both my emotional stability and my job.
  • Tablewalkr
    Lost its focus
I used to love this show, but all they seem to do now is interview fellow musicians about their careers. Very little content these days is actually related to fatherhood, raising kids, familial relationships, etc. Case in point: the recent Bruce Hornsby interview spent an hour and half listening to random (and honestly boring and frequently foul-mouthed) music career stuff, and then in the final 12 minutes they finally got around to asking about Bruce's kids. By that time, I had not only stopped caring, but I had unsubscribed from this podcast and deleted once-favorite Bruce Hornsby tunes from my music library. Hopefully Dave and Jon can get the show back on track someday, but for now, I'm turned off and tuned out. :-(

    Good company
Hilarious, making me laugh through my sewing! That makes me sound super old. BUT! I really appreciated the takes about marriage+6 month olds on “we’re not promising fun.” Thanks for keeping me company this evening!

    Even for non-dads
I love listening to each conversation! Dave and Jon are so funny, but I also usually come away having learned more about the relationships in my life based on their conversations. Highly recommended to all parents, or just all people.
  • jenrnelson
    It’s morphed ☹️
I started listening way back at the beginning because I love these guys and the interviews were interesting because they talked with the guests about how they grew up and their dads and family dynamic and their childhood and we listeners learned a lot about the background of the guests. Super interesting. Now it’s mainly hearing the success story of the guest and the backstory is barely mentioned. It’s all information that’s shared in every other interview the guest has done. So IMO it’s lost it’s unique charm. Hoping they get back to the OG Dadville.

    Love it!
    Love this show!

    Always Laughing
This podcast is so fun! My favorite is when Dave cracks himself up to the point of not being able to talk. My one complaint would be sometimes the episodes are a little long…would love for those to be split into two parts instead.
  • Kellyhanes
    Great guests!
Always funny, great conversations with interesting guests. Especially love Jon’s dry sense of humor!
  • Emi-lou-who
    ‘Tis a good one!
“Funny thoughts and deep talks” sums this podcast up perfectly! I’ve laughed out loud numerous times and have loved that their humor is coupled with thoughtful questions and discussions. And it’s not just for dads! I’m a young lady and still enjoy it! Give it a listen…and welcome to Dadville 😉
  • Jimmy Mac NYC
God has a sense of humor!
You two are absolutely hilarious, combining great conversations with some of your high school humor. Your guests clearly dig being on your podcast. It’s really hysterical when you and your guests start laughing uncontrollably. On a deeper level, your conversations with guests share real life relatable experiences - both the joys and the struggles - while trying to live a faith-driven life. Kudos. Keep it up!

Worth listening even though my kid left the nest
What an encouraging and funny podcast for dads! I’m hooked after two episodes.

    Favorite podcast!
I’m 24 and female and this podcast is still so good. It makes me laugh and has so many words of wisdom. One of the best pods out there!

    Great Podcast
I stumbled upon this podcast after listening to That Sounds Fun, and I love it! Dave & Jon ask thought-provoking questions, and I find myself laughing out loud several times throughout each podcast. I highly recommend this show. It’s for everyone (stay at home mom🙋🏼‍♀️)!
  • Morgan Vuyovich
    Mom who loves Dadville!
Stay at home mom here, who laughs SO hard at every Dadville (and Momville💜🙏🏽) podcast. I am constantly sending love to my bestie who shared the episode “Lawnmower Driveby” with me during Covid, which immediately got me hooked, and saved my sanity during that crazy season!! I tell every mom, dad, grandma, whoever about Dadville because it ain’t just for dads. 🙅🏽‍♀️ But I have two listener requests for J + M: 1) just listened to your sesh with Sho. Can you please make a hip hop version of your “Dadvilleeeeeee” intro with a dope beat (even if you have to use your iPhone to make it😉)?!? I know you could do it and it’d be amazing and hysterical! 2 podcasting dads from TN makin’ beats… I can hear it already! 🙏🏽 2) I’ve heard you mention Chad Scruggs in one of your podcasts. He was a mentor of mine at SMU (I hope me going to smu doesn’t discredit my request for a hip hop intro 🤷🏽‍♀️😆) and I always thought he was hilarious (like y’all are) a humble dad and husband, worked hard to spread the love of Jesus, and always had funny stories. I think he’d be great dad-dition on the pod 😉 Keep being absolutely amazing! Can’t wait to hear what’s next ✨💜

    No longer a listener
These guys are usually great: funny, relatable, and genuine. But the latest episode about the enneagram was pretty awful in regard to pushing their Christian beliefs on their listeners. They’re guests claim to be enneagram teachers but it’s clear they have simply “christianized” a sacred tool for healthy development and use it for profit and selfish ambition. Please don’t use their resources. For anyone serious about the enneagram without the heavy evangelical Christian slant go read some other authors: Don Riso, Russ Hudson, Helen Palmer, Ian Morgan Cron, Beatrice Chestnut, Richard Rohr. Go to the enneagram institute website for real teaching and resources. Again I’ve been a long time listener but greatly disappointed by this episode. So much so I’m unsubscribing to this podcast.

    It’s Good!
I learned about Dave through my girlfriend (now wife and mom of 3) and John because he was my brother’s college roommate. What a treat to stumble on this as I recover from an Achilles’ tendon surgery and need some encouragement in my fathering and some good content along the way. Well done fellas.
  • Dan Harmon
    Funny and heartfelt
You can’t beat Dave and Jon. Two genuine, down to earth, and hilarious guys interviewing compelling guests. The way they cut through any semblance of formality to make listeners feel like they are a part of the conversation is incredible. You have to give this podcast a listen if you haven’t already!

    DADVILLE FOREVER
First of all, this is the first time I’ve ever written a podcast review. Second of all, couldn’t think of a better pod to use it on. About have my first kid in 3 weeks, so everything about it hits home. Jon and Dave are the best, and if I can be half as cool of a dad as they are, I’ll be just fine.
  • joshsabo
I look forward to each new episode
I feel like Dave and Jon’s music has been the background track to my adult treats, this podcast is the perfect accompaniment to trying to be the best dad I can be. The podcasts are fun to listen to and full of levity and at the same time insightful and inspiring. Great work guys.

I have enjoyed these podcasts all along! A new foster dad/bio dad to be, this has helped break up the grind with some helpful insight!
