KarolinaLPLove it! A podcast my husband actually listens to šThank you Dr. Ken and Jessica! This past Saturday I applied one of your tips when my son arrived later than expected and it worked like a charm. I have 2 requests: an AI bot that acts like you during emergencies when I forget everything you said and an episode on kids with serious ADHD. Thank you again!

Dadās diaryVocation worth thinking aboutThanks Dr Ken and Jessica. Few things compare to the importance of intentional parenting. Your podcast is always full of helpful wisdom for the task.

avj1306Love It!!!I love this show!!! So helpful for me and my wife. And the book is amazing
-
Knowbetterdobetter4Be CarefulSocial media is harmful to teens. Period. Also if I have someone living/visiting on break in my home and they come in at 3am and wake me up. This is a lack of respect for myself. Itās important to not loose sight that some of this advise is due to not wanting to upset the teen and allowing yourself to be walked all over. Be careful and use caution when listening.

ATLtoCOfanGot my new edition!I can't wait to read it. Thank you for doing this update!!!!
-
Murry1998Helpful parenting advice for tricky yearsI love this podcast, but it never shows up in my feed because Iām constantly having to re-follow them. Iām not sure why, since my other podcasts I subscribe to donāt have this problem. Love the content, keep it up- parents of older kids and teens need this!!
-
Edhughes1129Adoption insight! Thanks for addressing adoption/foster care and planned emancipation. Been waiting for this. So grateful!
-
MomGratefulGrateful parents! This podcast was a treasure find! Thank you Dr. Ken, Ashley, and Jessica - what valuable discussions filled with wisdom.

MeghannCFHelp with Cell Phone FreedomsThanks for creating this amazing podcast full of useful information! I love it and use it everyday, but the one thing that Iām struggling with and hoping you cover more in your new edition is how to create freedoms with cell phones. With all the knowledge that we have that cell phone usage can cause negative side effects etc., and the fact that we didnāt even have these things when we were children, Iām struggling with how to create freedoms that Iām both okay with and also will not be detrimental to my child. I hope that makes sense and I look forward to hearing some of your thoughts and suggestions regarding this specific issue. Thank you again!!!

AshleyihSo good!My husband and I love this podcast! So much wisdom given!

BingeJesusBeHappyA blessing!!!I just found his podcast a few weeks ago and have listened to almost every episode. Wow! Iām so grateful for the wisdom shared and canāt wait for the new book!! I wish it was out yesterday!

kelg48Life alteringI am so grateful to have discovered, feeding the mouth podcast and book before it was too late for me and my daughter. We are still working, but even beginning to implement some of these tactics has had a dramatic effect on our family environment. This is kind of funny, but my favorite thing is how you have coined the term ānurturingā to describe controlling moms! š¤£š¤£I know this is true because I would never have used the word nurturing to describe myself, nor would anyone else, but every time you describe it or define it on here, itās me to a T!
-
tbfinleyGood thoughtsI love Dr. Kenās thoughtful approach. He helps me think through these questions and topics in an authentic way. Thank you so much for taking time to record these!!
-
UnaguayabitaBigotryEpisodes 166 and 167 are such bigotry! I used to recommend this podcast until those two episodes came along. Disappointing to find out whatās underneath the hostsā āunderstandingā facade. Ignore this podcast and find yourself a better one.

sishigirlLove this podcast!!I stumbled upon this while having a difficult time with my teenage son. I have learned so much and honestly feel like Iām not alone and in all the things I am dealing withā¦ especially boys! Love their energy and love the advice. Thank you for creating this. Mom of 17 year old twin boys.
-
Bank TempsHighly recommend this for parents of teens & preteensDr Ken Wilgus and Jessica (and Ashley when she was on the show) tackle everyday and not-so-everyday issues with kids. Wilgus offers a āmethodā (not actually a method!) to help parents keep from getting into control battles with their teens. It seems counterintuitive but it actually allows us to influence our teens more! The mind shift and freedom this provides is life giving-to parents and to their teens! I recommend this podcast and Dr Wilgusā book to Christian and non-Christian parents alike!
-
dh22!Excellent content!I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone with teenagers, or upcoming teens, or if you work with preteens/teens. The content is educational, inspirational, and so, so necessary to have for this generation.
-
RRās momNot a ChristianI started this show during a very difficult time with my teenage boy. I have never thought in a million years that listening in would help us so much. We are still struggling but it guided me to understand so much about my teen. To appreciate him and learn from him as much as I wish he would learn from me. Thank you and I hope you continue the podcast because I love listening.
-
MommaKim2010So thankful for this....I have been listening and replaying this podcast for a couple years. I have read the book and share it with so many parents. Parents need to hear this information. Each episode can relate to a different season with our teens. Some episodes are on replay daily! I love Jessica's openness and honest side of her own parenting journey. Dr. Wilgus has an incredible way of explaining the teen side and the real world side of parenting. Absolutely appreciative of their directness and dedication to families. THANK YOU!! Our world would be a better place if this was a requirement for parents.
-
StrengthOfTheBuffaloPractical Everyday Advice!I love this show! God lead me here, having trouble letting go of my 17 year old and this brought reassurance and confidence to do it. Thank you and God bless yaāll!
-
lester mcgooLove love loveI highly recommend reading the whole book before you start listening to this podcast. It is a great resource for parenting. I think this is the most helpful book and podcast that I have ever read for parenting teens, and the transition to adult Hood.
-
Kik&DLove the title butā¦.I often find myself turning towards podcasts as a resource to help navigate the teen years. As a Christian, Iām going to have to give this one a pass. Thereās a big difference between a Welcoming Christian and a Welcoming and Affirming Christian. Iām the latter and feel strongly in upholding that value to my children as well, the producers of this podcast are the former and itās very clear in their teachings. Thereās some good learnings to be had in this podcast, but unfortunately I wouldnāt recommend it. Thereās too much propaganda and there is plenty of quality parenting content being produced elsewhere
-
theaffirmingOTCringe-Worthy AdviceItās very clear that the host of this podcast did not meet the continuing education requirements in his field after circa 1980. Thereās no evidence of any prior trauma-informed practice in his ideology. This kind of narrow thinking is why some kids go no contact with their parents as adults. They also seem to manage to put the blame on the teenagers at the end of each episode without taking on a perspective other than their own.

suzannerussell04My favorite parenting podcast5/5 stars!
-
E458!REAL advice on REAL topics & issuesThis podcast is my go-to for parenting and always hits on topics that are relevant to parenting today. I look forward to it every week!
-
WritingCandidlyGreat for Parents - Much Needed! We are āplanned emancipationā parents, and this podcast is a great complement and reminder to his book on that. I love that these are short and I love that he is stepping up to some of the most current questions and issues of our time. The podcasters are all practitioners of Christianity, and so often the ārootā of the reasoning lands in the traditions and tenets of their religious teachings and faith, however they acknowledge that not all listeners are of the Christian faith and the content is valuable whether or not you are of that faith though it is hard to extract at times. More researched information would strengthen the show, though I still consider it very high quality.
-
Gronkowski da bomb.Useful & QuickThe topics are relevant and the episodes are brief. Appreciate the contentā¦ keep It up coming!!
-
kfriglutoGreatnessI LOVE this podcast! Iāve already noticed a difference in my teenagers using this method and their advice. I appreciate the examples. The humor is a great bonus.
-
MissMissyJoNew listenerThis is great stuff. My kids are 17 and 13. My dad raised me in a way similar to this and I was thrilled at the amount of freedom I had compared to my friends, so I did the same with my kids. It really works! I keep listening to see how I can learn more!!
-
drivingandlisteningMakes sense of teen parentingKeep up the great work! This met a real need for me as I struggled in the transitioned from parenting children to parenting teens!
-
FebfsnuuDisappointedThis podcast is full of arcane information and misogyny. Yuck!!!!
-
psufan00Best parenting podcast!I am a social worker and parent of three teens. This is my personal favorite resource and the one I most recommend to other parents. The book is also a great resource and I would highly recommend reading that as well. Thanks Dr. Ken, Ashley, and Jessica for making this wisdom available to everyone!
-
Queripel & CompanyHonest, necessary, awkward AND encouraging!Well done for addressing the issues and circumstances which parents donāt want to do themselves. Your honesty encourages us to forge ahead with the difficult conversations. Thank you.
-
ahfuankaA Star!I have been scouring parenting information/ resources for months and this has to be my #1 best find. So grateful for this show and their amazing content!
-
Mommabert1009Seriously life changingAs a mother of a blended family, 3 teenagers and 5 kids all together along with a history of trauma in my children, this podcast has brought so much freedom to me! I have lived years parenting from fear and since my husband and I started listening to this, it has taught us so much! How ignorant we have been in parenting our teens and how to change what we are doing and how much fruit is coming from it- itās amazing!
-

Lolly0611Excellent ResourceParenting Teens is so hard. I found Dr. Wilgus book and was so excited that it had a podcast too. Iām a busy working mom so being able to listen and having real moms direct the conversation is genius ā¤ļø
-
angelchevalGreat advice for parents with teens!I enjoy the wise words that Dr. Wilgus (and the hosts too) in each episode! Being actively engaged in my kids lives, sometimes itās easy to cross the line and do too much for them, or take their burdens. Hearing this podcast made me understand I am not really helping them in the long run when I assist too much, or save them from failing etc. I am reminded that their struggles prepare them for life, and that the best I can do is encourage, and empower them to be independent and capable young men.
-
eggrzFinallyā¦parenting advice that is helpfulThis podcast and Dr. Kenās book have been so helpful in figuring out how to approach parenting my adolescent daughters. Iāve recommended it to several friends. I feel empowered to stop being responsible for EVERYTHING. Iām learning how to give advice instead of lecture and freedom, that comes with boundaries and natural consequences, to my teenage daughter.
-
RLSMCEmpoweringI donāt know how many times Iāve told people to listen to this podcast when they feel overwhelmed parenting teens. Every episode I listen to gives me confidence and the breathing room to release more and more responsibilities to my totally capable big kids. If youāre feeling burdened by the weight of raising teenagers the ārightā way, give this podcast a try. You will leave feeling better not worse.š

Thank_fulSo helpful in todayās cultureThis book and podcast has been so helpful to us as we try to not āover parentā our teenager. The constant reminders and frustration have ended. Even when we have to apply a consequence our son just accepts it without arguing. Clearly laying out our expectations and consequences has changed our whole relationship. The freedoms list completely surprised our son. I cannot say enough good things about this book and podcast. Thank you Dr. Ken!!!!
-
StarvibeFinally a solution for parenting teenagers!I am so thankful for Dr Ken and his methods! We are excited about the changes we are experiencing in our home. Weāve hardly just begun the process of planned emancipation with our teens and already we feel more peace within our home. Our teens are showing positive signs but itās me (Mama) who is letting go and able to parent from a place of peace not fear. Itās given a guideline for my husband and I to be on the same page which is a blessing and so helpful! This podcast is a great supplement to his book, if you havenāt read it yet do it! I audio booked it and bought the actual book for reference. Thank you Dr Ken!!
-
piƱatagirl87Finally answers to navigating teenagers!Stumbled on your podcast, then got both the audible and kindle versions of the book. Canāt thank you enough. The podcast has been so tremendously helpful in addition to the book and really just makes sense to understanding teenagers and how to move forward with this next chapter of their lives. I also greatly appreciate that the book talks about relevant issues such as social media, cellphones, and gaming. The podcast dives deeper into those things and makes it even more current with what we are facing compared to outdated books that are hard to relate to the now times and trends happening around the world. I have sent this podcast to all my friends with teens! I continually find myself listening to the podcast, and relistening to podcasts and rereading chapters from the book. I love the dynamic of having the wisdom of Dr. Len and the way he just says things very matter of factly and having the girls on the show with teens and giving examples it really helps make it relatable and feel like your talking with your friends.

MAJEJCGreat practical parenting!Iāve learned so much while listening to this podcast. Great practical parenting from a Christian perspective - you do not have to be a Christian to follow the parenting principles.
-
Canāt listen enough!I cannot listen enough!Audible books have always been my go-to for a way to wind down in the evenings, but ever since I found the āFeeding The Mouth That Bites Youā book and podcast, Iāve been listening and consuming this content voraciously! Whatās more, my teenage son and I are enjoying the most harmonious stage in our relationship of our whole lives! And thatās saying a lot, since weāve butted heads almost continually since he started kindergarten. Iām SO grateful for the incredible wisdom and gift that this podcast is to the world. Thank you Ken, Ashley and Jessica! āŗļø By Godās grace, you are transforming the atmosphere of our home and therefore affecting generations in our family!
