Love listening to my favorite boxing podcast featuring a living legend and also TJ Rivers

I’ve only been a boxing fan for little more than a year, and after sampling plenty of shows, I can definitely say that Big Fight Weekend is the best of the bunch. Dan and TJ keep it real. I look to them for my recaps and news.

Must listen for a true boxing fan. Organized and concise recaps and previews of every fight of consequence around the world.

I’ve been listening to Dan and TJ for a while now and love their insights! They have a great dynamic co-hosting together and the access to fighter interviews is top notch. I’m also a huge fan of the nostalgia content. I like the weekend preview on Thursday/Friday and the recap at the beginning of the week! It’s a great structure

Dan Raphael is by far the most knowledgeable Boxing analyst currently. By profession a writer, so hearing him speak is a deluge of information. If you can keep up with him, the amount of facts and command he has of the sport is incredible. TJ does a somewhat fair job at keeping the focus and progression of the show. I am not his peep nor his savage, so maturity is not his strong suit. When he tries to counter Dan, his lack of knowledge in the sport is in full display. Their interpersonal relationship and banter can detract the show at times, but there is so much else there, it’s worth enduring. Can’t wait for every episode. Won’t miss any.

I could never pick a ‘favorite’ boxing podcast, because there are so many worthy contenders*, but Big Fight Weekend is indispensable for fans of boxing generally and/or USA and Mexican boxing in particular. Dan Rafael and TJ Rives preview and recap each week’s fights, interview boxers and other boxing insiders, etc. (*For fans of British and Irish boxing in particular, The Opening Bell and 5 Live Boxing are both essential listening. For fans of boxing history, Boxing Life Stories has an incredibly deep back catalog of in-depth interviews. For better or worse, we live in the 4 belt era, so I’ll give each podcast above one of my made-up belts, as they’re all champs in my book.)

These guys know their boxing, the best part though is when they’re angrily tell each other to let them talk!

They do a consistent job of reviewing the week upcoming and the past week’s fights. I like TJ, stop being so grumpy Dan!

Dan has a tremendous wealth of knowledge about boxing, from history to the minute inner workings of the various sanctioning bodies. TJ brings in a good level perspective and the two play well off of each other, when they’re not interrupting one another. Plus, neither whines nearly as much as Chris Mannix; this is a much better podcast than his. Only minor criticism is the format of the podcast is kinda stale. It’s always fight preview/recap, news, then nostalgia. I think podcast would be better served doing the nostalgia bit once a week on either Sunday or Thursday, and then that other day doing Q and A from fans or something along those lines.

Very good chemistry between the principals. They are both well informed.

Decent pod but Dans’s supercilious attitude can become a bit wearing at times.

I only listen to a handful of boxing podcasts and I never miss this one. I also appreciate that I can listen with my 9 year old who is also a huge boxing fan.

Love both Dan and TJ! The back and forth is thoroughly entertaining and of course, the boxing talk is second to none.

TJ Rives is a pro, but the secret sauce here is the human boxing-encyclopedia known as Dan Rafael. No other show offers this level of educated insight, detailed analysis, and historical context. (Plus the weekly "nostalgia" rewinds are amazing.) Keep up the great work, fellas.

This is boxings #1 Podcast! But commercial editing is horrible. The commercial breaks shouldn’t be in the middle of the conversations.

The team of TJ reeves and Dan Rafaelrealy work great together there is much I enjoy about this podcast from the interviews Dan does with the different boxers and just love the past history lessons you get from this show I also love how there seems be a couple of shows a week Dan seems to be an encyclopedia of boxing knowledge and TJ is so funny always referring to himself as inadequate compared toDan keep up the great work gentleman!

My absolute favorite podcast.

Dan’s the man and TJ has got a great voice. Raefield really loves the sport and has a wealth of knowledge. Everyone has an opinion but Dan has what I like to call an “educated opinion”. I just wish they would stop putting spoilers in the d*mn title lines because they post like 10 minutes after the fight so I have to try not to open my podcast app if I so happened to not catch an event live lol

I get pumped for the weekend fight because of these guys love the banter and Dan for always being real
