Drama #201

CARAVAN is a story about getting through Hell with the people you love. When Samir and his best friend Carlyle take a camping trip to the Canyon, they don't plan on getting caught in a thunderstorm. Even worse, they don't plan on Samir falling into the Canyon. When he wakes up, Samir finds himself in a new world, where ghosts, demons, vampires, and other monsters terrorize the locals like any villains in a western. Samir joins up with a caravan—a vigilante train of supernatural bounty hunters—to delve deep into the Canyon depths, and find a way out of Hell once and for all.

    best show ever created
I don’t think i’ve ever connected with a story or mc more. The plot and world building is innovative and super fun. The first ep, the carlyle ep, and the finale are some of my favorite podcast episodes of all time. The characters have my whole heart Eagerly awaiting s2! Mwah!!

    Just bad
Bad writing, stereotypical, and racist. Nothing unique here

The BEST canyon experience of your life.
Caravan is a pitch perfect podcast. The audio and audio “play” is top-notch. And never underestimate the power of DADI (the Demonic Advisory Diversity and Inclusion group). I look forward to a season two and more from life in the Canyon with characters Samir, Argo, MamaBangBang, and the rest of the Caravan.

    LOVE
One of the best fiction podcasts out there and it’s indie as heck. Truly riveting, creative, and beautiful. Eagerly awaiting season 2

    I want a second season!!!
The setting, editing and acting were out of this world. Only gave 4 stars because I felt the last few episodes were a little rushed. I can’t wait for (hopefully) a season 2 to blow us away even more!

    Worth it
Like, it scared me, but it also gave me, like, a boner at the same time.

i would give this 20 stars if i had the option!!!
CARAVAN IS INCREDIBLE!!!! the show runners and everyone involved deliver intricate, understanding, and powerful portrayals of intersectional identity, mental health issues, and sexuality. i have listened through the podcast three or four times now and it never fails to compel me. thank you for creating something absolutely stunning!

    Fantastic Story and Characters
This is a really fun and strange story that is told wonderfully. It is great to listen to, and the characters are hilarious and awesome.

What a fantastic podcast. From beginning to end I was enthralled. The characters and voice acting are the highlight but the rest is also amazing. 10/10 would recommend. Love the queer rep, love setting, love the everything

please listen!! you won’t regret it!
oh. my. god. where to begin with this. i binged the whole podcast in one night and, let me say, it’s the best decision i’ve made. each character’s portrayal is fantastic, the voice acting is enthralling, the plot is easy to follow and still complex and interesting— which is important and difficult to achieve in my case, since i have the attention span of a goldfish. nice mix of humor and drama and tackles topics in a way that feels so, so real. it’s so important to give creators of color a platform, and i’m so glad that this podcast came into existence! fantastic— i cannot wait for the next season!

    Original & Entertaining
Fun voice acting and sound design, wrapped around an entertainingly original approach to the fish-put-of-water fantasy scenario. This delightfully weird tale is *thoroughly* engaging. Looking forward to season two!

    Started strong but went downhill
The premise was promising, but all of the forced relationship drama totally outstripped the pacing of the plot. All of a sudden we’ve gone from this fantastical world of Wild West adventure with apocalyptic undertones to a high school drama complete with weirdly forced sexuality. I feel little to nothing nothing for these characters, especially the protagonist/narrator who has the dry delivery of a token ironically-bored comedic relief sidekick in a predictable coming of age movie. I stuck it out through the whole first season hoping for a strong finish but I don’t think I’ll be back.

    Brilliant
I am so happy to find another fantastic Whisperer Forge production!! I am loving the story line, I appreciate the queer aspect greatly, and I am excited to recognize voices from previous podcasts! LOVE IT! Keep up the great work!!!

meh.. this COULD of been good!
The concept of Caravan is really good, the setting, the mystery, the characters that inhabit the world are the only thing that kept me listening. The main charachter and actor who voiced him is TERRIBLE! Boring , flat performance for a boring , flat character. I kept wanting him to shut up and wished the story line followed one of the other characters. All the other performances are solid. It's like the narrator belongs in a totally different podcast. It's also hyper sexual in a very distracting, graphic and juvinile way which doesn't serve the plot at all.
  • hotarubinomorie
The main character is a MOOD
I have honestly never related to a main character more. Like he also acts like how I would expect a real person to act in his situation. He takes everything in stride and it’s very refreshing after all of the stories out there where the main character freaks out with every little thing.

Only Fiction Podcast I Listen To!
I just finished season 1! I cannot wait for Season 2. It sucked me in immediately and I am so here for Samir and his vulnerability. Thank you for a great story!
  • paddle_on
    Nope
Tried. Hated it. Mainly the characters and relationships. Perhaps the story is ok but couldn’t get passed the other.

    Lots of fun
    Really enjoy the story.

I have never felt more seen by a podcast
This podcast feels like it was tailor made as the perfect podcast for me. A queer indian protagonist in a NSFW-Over the Garden Wall meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer is all in a podcast that I binged in two days. Super fun, and definitely horny. I’m so excited for season 2.
  • Altheawkward
    Ignore the bad reviews
This podcast is great! The story is interesting and well written , the voice actors are talented. You can tell they’re still getting the hang of things , but dispute what some bad reviews say, it’s easy to understand.
  • fyl t.
    Really?
This podcast is just aweful. Who hired these voice actors? Who thought any of this was a good idea? Once I heard the narrator, I could not turn it off fast enough. That may seem hateful, but I can’t hear well and I could it understand what the he’ll he was supposed to be saying.
  • francis4evr
    I love it
the story is so fun and the voice actors are great. also the end credit song is a bop so i’m always jamming out when the podcast is over

    AMAZING
I loved this so much. Binge listened all day at work and I wish there was more!!!!!! I’m about to fund this so hard the second I’m done with this last episode to make sure I see a season 2.
  • calamitysammyjo
    i NEED more!!!
Meant to just catch a few eps during work & wound up binging the whole season💜🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s a story you keep wanting just one more chapter of! the characters are unique and relatable, scenes are beautifully spun- detailed and delicious. The story gently draws you in and weaves about you. Sessy af, love it 😍

    Just. This.
I L♥️VE this podcast so much. I binged the first season in two days. I cried when I got to the last episode, because there were none left. I had to start again. It is seriously a great podcast. As someone who has quirky interests, this is one of those at the top of the list. I love all of the topics the touch on (race, sexuality - my queer heart melts). I canNOT wait until season two.

    Fun times in the canyon
I like my podcasts like I like my men. Adventurous, funny, mysterious, creative, adorable, and filled with foul language. This is a story with all of that goodness for the ears. We need more LGBTQ fictional stories for podcasts. This one delivers. Magical. Bravo. 🧟‍♂️🧛🏻‍♂️🧗🏼‍♂️⛰⛺️🌌🔮🔫❤️😈👻👀🧙🏻‍♂️🙋‍♂️👨‍❤️‍👨

    So much talking
I know the medium is limited but some podcasts figure out how to sprinkle in some action while telling a story. This one reminds me of the Bright Sessions where everybody talks and talks about things that may happen or have already happened but nothing actually happens while you’re listening. It’s an interesting premise but I’ve been actively bored at times listening to Caravan.

    I’m in absolute love ❤️❤️❤️
This podcast is beyond amazing!! I binged all the episodes and can’t wait for another season! I love story podcast like this and I adore fantasy/other worldly stories. I enjoyed this so much and I’m grateful to have found it.☺️❤️❤️

    Ohh my lovely lesbian heart!
I love this show more than I can explain to any human. I can relate to it for 1. Let’s be honest the queer kids are by far more likely to go on adventures than our boring straight counterparts. Not to mention I would have the same reaction to being dropped into a supernatural world. Also, listening to it has somehow given me a bit more self-confidence. Even if it’s just the “embrace the not so Barbie” kind. Keep making this show and never make it stop, please & thank you.

    Really Really Amazing
This podcast is one of the best I’ve listened to, and I mean that! The main character of Samir is SO good, so relatable, and so funny. The plot never drags, and the twists are GOOD and they feel rewarding to find out. I can NOT wait until season 2 comes out and I have to thank everyone who made this podcast possible. Everything is good, from the sound design to the acting to the writing, honestly SO worth your time.
  • Eddief419
    Does Samir is Roxas?
I love this show for plenty of reasons, but on Twitter Tau Zaman drew a connection between the show and Kingdom Hearts, and now my reptile brain won’t stop trying to draw connections. Don’t get me wrong, this show already has a better and more coherent plot then KH (which I know isn’t a super high bar) , but there are just enough references varying from vague to on the nose that I can’t not make make jokes about it.
  • Kap'n kitty
    Mixed feelings
This is an incredible podcast don’t get me wrong, but it has some glaring pacing issues in my opinion. Around episodes 2-5 ish the plot does absolutely nothing and then picks back up towards the end. I would definitely recommend giving this a listen, however, do it all in one go instead of having to wait for each episode to release like I did.
  • DahliaRiddle
Not sure what I was expecting
But I am loving every second of this wild ride! The music is fantastic, and I absolutely love Samir and all of the rest of the actors. It's funny and endearing and.. really thirsty.
  • regan8or
Sticking around - in like but not love right now
I'm rating it good because it clearly has some interesting meat that could be truly juicy moving forward. At this moment it's solid, interesting enough, and has an interesting premise. Looking forward to seeing where it goes.
  • crazyivan19
    Adventure, humor, demons, and more!
The first episode sucked me in with its unrequited romance. The subsequent episodes hooked me with an action-packed, cowboy-fantasy storyline and cliffhangers that leave you wanting more. The production value for this podcast is impressive on all levels: voice acting, sound, editing, etc. I am delighted by this rather subversive show!

The Queer Supernatural Pod we need!
Love, Love, Love! From the opening adorable squishy gay crush to the most recent episode full of supernatural sex advice, every episode delivers. Weird west meets Buffy meets the diverse Supernatural we actually want. Every new character is a hoot and and I can’t wait to see what hell raising antics they get up to next. And all of the nerdy Easter eggs are just the icing on the top of this delicious queer cake.

    Giving me life
This show does an awesome job subverting the tropes of the American Western. Every ep so far has been delightfully entertaining (and frequently thirsty)!

    So good!
