BlueGooseFliesA thank you card, and a punch in the face, or ergot poisoning?Listening to the Jan. 30 episode, regarding estranged parents, did more for me than all the therapists I’ve seen across the entirety of my 47 years. It was like hearing my childhood- and my marriage- summed up neatly in one podcast episode. I wouldn’t rule out some sort of environmental toxin, for a small portion of what sounds like people talking themselves right over the edge of a cliff. When I think back to my own childhood, in a very rural area with a super screwed up parent, there was a lot of chemical insect control happening. It was sprayed/dusted everywhere, literally right over my head, as they stepped around me to make sure no inch went uncovered. My childhood was spent under a constant cloud of abuse, which continued into adulthood, until I decided I’d had enough. I left, and have never been back. My sibling stayed. They eventually made a conscious decision to leave, stopped taking their meds, and were lost three short months later. They knew the consequences of their actions, I took them to have their prescriptions filled days before they left, and counted the pills after signing the paperwork for their organ donation. Starting from the time that they left, there was a blood pressure pill for each day up until they had a fatal stroke, before the age of 40. My other parent died in their 50s, from a brain tumor the size of a grapefruit. I am not suggesting all these parents are suffering from heavy metal/chemical poisoning, some people are just screwed. Could be from their own childhood trauma, or any number of things they’ve encountered between birth and adulthood. Maybe it’s all down to genetics- I’m not a doctor. I don’t know what happened to my parent that caused them to be the way they are. And I really don’t care anymore, I have enough problems, I don’t need their’s, too. What I do know, is that my grandparents were good people, and probably the only reason I made it out alive. There will never be a parenting award with my name on it- but there’s also not a day that goes by that I don’t try my best to be a better parent. I could not possibly be more proud of the two individuals I’ve contributed to this planet. We are all three identical in every way, and at the same time, completely opposite from each other. That last bit- how they are so very different from me- is what fills me with pride, and hope for the future.

Wehttam449I don't care about your movie reviewsPlease put out actual content on a consistent schedule. ANY schedule. Monthly, Quarterly, I don't care. Pick something and commit to it, please. I could've posted this years ago and it would've been relevant. I expect it will still be relevant years from now, given the track record.

JohnnywithaJLove this podcast… butLove this podcast. Each episode brings something new to the table and teaches me something. BUT… …please please PLEASE stop vilifying or dismissing H@m@5. (even having to write it in code feels ridiculous). They are a legitimate resistance force and government entity that is the only defense for the people of P@lest5ine. Do they use violent tactics? OF COURSE. Do they have a choice? NO. They are no different than the resistance fighters of the ANC and UWS in South Africa and the IRA in Ireland. To dismiss or villainize them plays right into the hands of 15r@aLian Hasbara, Zaka and corporate “Western” media. Three things that me being against is the whole reason why I come to this podcast. Thank you and warm regards.

Jjjjjjjjska siqldnUsed to be greatFor whatever reason, as the alt-right has reached a peak influence on American politics, this podcast has decided to become a movie review podcast. Was a really good listen when they covered meaningful topics. Now it’s just “bonus episodes” of movie reviews. Weird pivot.

mightyqwinGuys, please come back!Seriously, we need you more than ever. Your deep dives into far right figures is critical to understanding what has been happening in the last decade and I miss that analysis. Please please please.

sokobanzAfter hearing that one of the host not gonna voteI’m officially finishing listening this pod. Last episode of Israel/Hamas conflict was not a last straw, never been completely agree with pod views but still liked, as liberal, point of view they bring in most of the time. But not voting in swing state aka give your vote out, just trow away one of the most important rights? Really? Now, hows Trump in office would help to any of cause this pod are for? It’s disgusting and completely lack of balance

bxtskrTHE BOYS ARE BACKthis podcast has gotten me through some dark times and has also armed me with the knowledge to operate in the world today. their well deserved hiatus is slowly coming to an end and it was such an absolute joy to hear a “traditional” episode (as much as I appreciate the bonus content!) it’s also very rad to have folks who are modeling taking time away from projects in order to heal/take care of yourself. we can’t operate like machines and shouldn’t expect that of anyone, including those we have parasocial podcast friendships with.

Tonyreview7664DisappointedThis was one of my favorite shows when they were actually making podcasts. They quit and now just do a show about a movie now and then.

takennicknames992/5 👎🏻Zero prep and no production value. Dead air. Too bad could be an interesting topic

Nyarl de la ThotepSubject to changeI’d rate this podcast better if they were doing this podcast but these “guest podcasts” really put me off because of the degree it seems the females are not deeply listening to what anyone is saying but rather taking turns speaking. It doesn’t build my interest and it becomes like any other conversation that I can’t wait to tune out (and I turn it off when I realize that I’m not trying to pay attention anymore). I don’t care whom was logged out of the low production zoom meeting; I am rather more concerned the building of coherent points. Sometimes I need help understanding WHY people have the feeling they have and simply judging adorable v deplorable is not building a point or gaining metaphorical ground for one’s argument. Building a better argument gives that argument gravity that otherwise one’s simple opinions lack and that was a great strength of this podcast (from my perspective) when it had its previous format (seemed orderly). I’ll keep trying the podcast to see if the “gang” can co-operate more in this respect by working together and tuning out when they don’t. Optimistic about raising this review star rating when things sort out.

BigbiuuyMisogynyThe hosts are misogynistic. I was an early fan but don’t listen anymore.
-
Max EllGood concept, awful executionI’m 95% in line with the politics of the hosts, and even I find them to be insufferably smug and arrogant. And it’s for that reason I stopped listening a while ago. They also make brazen remarks and predictions that aren’t true, go off-topic for long segments, and assume a level of knowledge/agreement from their audience that isn’t close to reasonable. There are times that I’ve been genuinely interested in an episode, but had to turn it off halfway through because they’d lost me or said something that was infuriatingly stupid. It’s unfortunate because they DO have some interesting things to say about their subject, buried in all the pablum. If they had a decent producer on board then there’d really be something worthwhile here.

KittyNattieGood info abt bad peopleListening from the beginning, lots of interesting information. Looking forward to listening more, wish episodes came more frequently. Keep up the good work glad you are doing it so the rest of us don’t have to.

HuribesPlatforming abusers…I liked this podcast for several years, and kind of overlooked the enmity the hosts had towards certain more politically involved leftist YouTubers, but than they brought on SofieFromMars, and I suspected things might get problematic. For those of you who don’t know, SofieFromMars is a bread tuber in the same region of the space as Thought Slime, and as she mentions in the show, is close friends with a British dude named DJ Mule who’s known within the community for a rather abusive takedown video he did on relatively small creator Xanderhal. The video itself if hours long, but it’s dissected really well on Jess and Zena, who point out a lot of its very clearly a-contextual claims, which include claiming that Xanderhals “made homeless” his older girlfriend who stole enough money from him that they where both evicted from there apartment. DJ Mule also suggests that the two should have had “makeup sex” after this individual had stolen large amounts of money from Xanderhal, which I think most people can see the issue with. I listened to the SofieFromMars episode expecting to not hear much about inter-breadtube drama, and while I wasn’t that surprised when SofieFromMars claimed that Vaush and other breadtubers who specialize in streaming and debate such as SharkZero or Xanderhal somehow cause Caleb Maupin, I was surprised when she platformed “her friend” DJ Mule. Now, SofieFromMars has stated clearly that when it comes down to her friends or those calling out there abusive behavior, she’ll side with her friends, so I don’t really think I can do much about her, but I would hope that the hosts of this show would consider the social circles of the people they platform. They don’t, and so I’m not really sure I can continue listening, for much the same reason that I’d stop watching SharkZero if he brought on someone who unapologetically defended and platformed abusers. I recommend Know Your Enemy if you want this type of content without the platforming abuse.

lit watchA labor to listen toIt may be a worthwhile experience; to examine a show by folks, who’s opinions and outlooks I agree with, while being unable to stand their self righteous ways of speaking. -Being made so uncomfortable by the persistently smug self-satisfaction may actually help one think about how they themselves present analysis, but it isn’t easy.
-
Darren in A$$h0le, IndianaGood stuffI love the podcast. It’s informative and in-depth and thoughtful. The only minor issue I have with it is that there is a lot of mouth noise. Kicks off the misophonia now and then. Some people make a lot of saliva I guess.

Olympia48Needs workLots of little things make this podcast feel less professional than it should be. Host needs a little coaching, episodes are too infrequent. And leave out the silly pronouns at the start of your episodes. Excessive virtue signaling. Your listeners are LISTENING and are not going to address you or your guests.
-
cloudyakThanks for walking through the horror showJust finished ep 114, I am a relatively new listener so appreciated what the hosts thought was going “back” to some stories and characters but to me were new. The toxicity and danger of this fascist ideology is all too real - meaning the work of building a better world that doesn’t have room for this to catch on is even more important. Knowing a bit about what’s going on behind their curtains helps me get my head around what I can do next to help be an answer to the problem they present. Take care of yourselves, thanks again.

cappuccinoalmcocovegan1Great podcast, but stop the unnecessary ramblingWe NEED this podcast! But Daniel's unnecessary rambling has kept me from listening to the ppdcast for a while. Cant remember the last time I listened to itctrying to fastforward all the chatter to get to tge info we all need

9elaineHighly recommendThey are consistently excellent. I listen to post episodes. Thank you for your work.
-
pretty boi pol potRespect these guys butI hate to see well-meaning Marxists overdose on their own skepticism. They have no right to be as smug as they are when they focus so much on YouTube discourse.
-
Goodyh2oCould we hear some info re: fascists please? The information regarding fascists is really very good, valuable, interesting and informative. It would be good to hear some such content on a show ostensibly about that topic. Really not interested in movie book reviews from this source.
-
hermannkarlovichI have no questionsSo far enjoying. Like the way Daniel says the word because as “becaulze”. Only person I’ve heard say that way comes from Florida. Listened to all the Jimmy Dore stuff and felt like I was back in the land of the same.
-
TB12 VTStupidFrankly, it’s just stupid ranting, childlike really, and seem to go out of their way to avoid facts. Anti- intellectual character assassination run amok
-
Fta- watcherCringe Pedantic virtue signaling and name callingThe hosts regularly throw around words like Nazi and fascist, even said “modern fascism doesn’t need to be anti Semitic or pro white” (ep 101) which makes you wonder what you are supposed to dislike ? They never say why someone is wrong or bad, they are just “Nazis” which means you should hate them automatically, no thought required. And yes this includes (real) progressives and socialists and leftists like Jimmy Dore and Caleb Maupin and Brett Weinstein. I guess they are SS troopers because they don’t believe the Russiagate hoax or don’t want war in Syria or something? But the like, uh, maybe kinda sorta wishy washy sort of um like I mean kind of like sort of uh kinda sorta like weak and imprecise language and horribly inappropriate nervous laughter is the worst part of the podcast by far. You would think they outgrow this but it’s still there 100 episodes in. On the bright side they do a great job of introducing me to banned content. And yeah they state their pronouns each episode 😆 So cringe.

MoreCowbell07Good content. When it’s there.I really love the content when they get to it. Since they started doing backer episodes, there seems to be more of them than the regular content-which I get-the guys gotta eat. But there doesn’t seem to be a good balanced or predictable. Look at Qanon anonymous for example-there’s a pretty regular cadence of paid and unpaid content. Which is exactly why I pay for their content. My other gripe (and this may just be me) is that there are countless instances of the hosts saying “we’ll definitely do an episode on xyz” or “our next episode will be on xyz” and then those episodes just never come. There are also a few instances of them having an episode that’s like “xyz Part 1”. But then there’s no Part 2. Or a Part 1, then two unrelated episodes, then Part 2. I’ll usually just listen to a few, then stop listening for months at a time because listening week to week was driving me out of my mind. Finally, there are a few instances of them getting really petty right on the coattails of them accusing their subjects of being really petty. Again, all of the subjects deserve nothing but negative things but it seems hypocritical to go after someone for being petty then turning right back around and doing it. The subject matter is wicked important, and when they’re on fire, they’re on fire. But (as a listener) it seems like the content is only planned out one or two episodes at a time. I’m super stoked to keep listening, but these are the things that really prevent me from being a regular listener.
-
LowreyProfound hypocrisyThe hosts regularly claim the moral high ground, but when you focus critically on their speech—and thus their true thoughts—you clearly see that they are posers who seek to cash in on the attention brought by focusing on the so-called culture wars. For example, they regularly use the term “bastard” to deride the humans they deem inferior to them, with absolutely no regard for the disgusting, sexist, transphobic history of this word. Their misogyny, privilege, hypocrisy and ignorance are sooo obvious in their every word and vocal inflection, and they should be immediately ejected from decent society. They epitomize luxury ideation that undermines the struggle of the truly oppressed. Even the name they chose for their podcast reveals deep tribalism and elitist structural supremacy. Elitist, high-caste supremacists with privileged access to media control!

Zandoren*yawn*I’ll bet these guys pat themselves on their backs so often they need PT to fix their rotator cuffs. I’ll bet their parents are ashamed. They certainly should be.
-
Dru MarshallI wanted to like this podcastI’m super interested in learning about the big figures of the Intellectual Dark Web or IDW as it’s sometimes called. But this podcast hardly provides any evidence for anything! They’ll talk about James Lindsay or Sam Harris and say over and over again “that is TOTALLY false!” “He is TOTALLY wrong on that!” and won’t say why the statements are wrong or why they are false! It’s almost comical how smug and sure of themselves they are without backing up any of their assertions. Skip this one, folks.
-
Garrett from SLCPodcast about Podcasts?I heard nothing new in terms of intellectual dialogue. For instance, I listened to a podcast about a podcast that featured a podcaster. And one of the hosts acknowledged that he didn’t even bother to listen to said podcasts? They also decided to spend 10 minutes talking about how podcasts make money. Time I won’t get back. Thanks, but no thanks.

C.OdeR.Ed123Psychology and tacticsGoes into a lot about right wing psychology and tactics, though I would like it better if you did more evidence based/debunking episodes..
-
ptrbbkGreat Show!Right wing grifters and chuds deserve to be called out and mocked for their evil and stupidity. This show does great work. If you don’t like it, stop being a fascist.
-
0possum94😂Wow they actually state their pronouns 😂betas
-
Mors InvictaA lot of uhh...a lot of angry virgins in these reviews....Hated by the exact sort of "people" who work their sh_t-stained Hanes into a 5d knot complaining about hypersensitive and whiny snowflakes, demonstrating the kind of psychological projection that is endemic on the political right. Just look at these 1-star reviews. You know they're doing something right.
-
realbigtoadEpisode 91Daniel I adore you, but PLEASE let the guests talk!
-
ChilliTravWell researched, poorly presentedThe guys are incredibly knowledgeable of a subject I’m very interested in. But sometimes I just can’t. Daniel spends too much time on self-congratulatory or self-referential comments and sometimes being too impressed and amused by his own wittiness. If they could cut such chit chat out, this would be a great pod. Edit to add: I just listened to the episode with the Christian Rightcast hosts, and Daniel cut off Kristin to interject with his own self-referential comments more times than I care to count. Daniel! Buddy! Please! I’m begging you, be a more gracious host and try not to cut off the female guest so much. Pleeeeaaase!
-
Hoboken DaveFantasticEntertaining, informative, and honest. Thank you.

Mando_OneFor History Nerds and Reality Based PeopleEdit: I’m going through this podcast from the start and will give updates as I get further in. I’ve only just started listening to this show, now only on episode seven, but I wish I had found it when it started. I wouldn’t call myself a socialist, or necessarily a leftist, but listening to these two talk is just enjoyable. And it’s such an important resource for people who want to keep an eye on right-wing extremists or just want to understand what’s going on in the right-wing echo chamber. I just finished episode 18 and really wish you guys had waited a few more months to do that episode. I know you couldn’t have known about Bundyville season two ahead of time, but it would’ve been interesting to see if that season would’ve changed anything you talked about in the episode. Now listening to Episode 39 and thinking to myself: “It’s only a matter of time before they have Leah Sotille to appear.” And I’d very much love to listen to that episode. Speaking of the Wendy’s $3.99 buffet using old hamburger meat, Rally’s/Checker’s does the same with their chili meat. It’s the hamburger meat leftover from the day(s) prior.

Tap a star1234567899999Look for those one star reviews…… For some premium coping. Fantastic comedy. They’re DEFINITELY not triggered, not threatened, not seething. Absolutely hilarious. You guys could do pompous dramatic readings of these reviews for bonus content. On a more serious note, for the podcasters: The strongest episode you did, to me, was the one where Daniel simply played the actual content of that Nazi podcast, explained the context and the blatant bigotry and hatred of their “jokes.” That episode was EXCEPTIONALLY helpful in cutting through the more mainstream dogwhistling the normals of my life think I’m insane for pointing out. Just being able to play the uncensored, unfiltered GARBAGE straight out of their safe spaces was huge. It’s been a while since I needed that episode, and I imagine it was hugely taxing to have to make, but it sticks with me, because I don’t know how to find these “safe spaces” and collect this stuff to bolster my arguments myself. And honestly, most of us out here don’t know HOW to really find these people. And I think it should stay that way. So, I really appreciate you guys. Thank you for your hard work.
-
ra ra ooh la laNot for meUseful if you want a window into the anti-intellectualism & viewpoint authoritarianism of the ‘social justice’ left. Also recommended for anyone with a “stand against hate” bumper sticker who has also doxxed someone on Twitter over a political disagreement.
-
jkat009Nope.The conversations go all over the place, which makes it annoying to listen to. Substance on the main topic is lacking, as well as explaining issues to people who aren’t actively following alt right wing media. The concept of this podcast is good, but the execution is done poorly.
-
leonard UgoExactly what you expectAs I said, it's exactly what you expect from self castrasted male leftists. A bunch of generalizations, bad arguments, straw Manning, misrepresentation etc.

Tinfoil Hat CrazyThink they’re smartLots of “gosh that’s horrible/incorrect” commentary but no real substance, because there is none.
