Spencer you did a fantastic job breaking down the Waco Cult in story like fashion. Don’t skip part 1, because hearing the back story starting in the 1920’s was fascinating, engaging and I educational. Ok…. I smiled at the last rhyming comment at the end of part 1.

Here to drown out the peasant trolls who aren’t a part of the cult. We all love Spencer and are so grateful for him.

Spencer Henry is a great host who puts in the research while still feeling relatable and easy to listen to. It feels like you’re on the phone with a friend. Love it.

4 minutes into an episode and he’s already getting basic information wrong. Interesting that comments are turned off on Spotify, I guess he can’t handle corrections.

Stories that I tried to listen could be good, but host speaks like he’s just speeding through, reading a script. And the fact that it’s just him, no sound effects or anything else, makes it quite boring for me.

New here and already love your podcast and just the whole vibe!! I heard on one of your recent eps that someone was annoyed that you just “chit-chatted” on a recent episode but- I personally think some of us love stuff like that! It starts to feel like some *likable* podcasters are like.. your friends and you want to hear a little bit about them and just like de-stress and “hang” without actually having to be social or make any effort! Lol As long as everything is clearly organized and labeled like: “Just a chitchat episode for my besties”- I think they’re great! Keep doing them- and everything else, of course! Thanks for being here for us and excited to binge all the archives!! x

Been listening to Cult Liter for a while now . I listened to it all and then started Obitchuary and they are by far my go to when i’m cleaning or working . I deliver for Amazon so since I don’t have to interact with anyone , i can just pop my headphones in and hit play until i’m done with my route . I’m sure people think I’m nuts when i’m driving and laughing . Currently catching up on episodes from earlier this year and I love them all so far ! Keep up the good work!

Dude is interesting & fun to listen too but it’s all true crime & murderers, not about cults at all. Great podcast name, give it to someone who will actually talk about cults pls

The cult has everything to personal stories to well documented stories to intense stories to so crazy they’re funny stories to paranormal to cults and straight up murder. Spencer talks about anything and everything in a way that’s easy to digest. He does a summary of a story, not a deep analysis. Everyone is welcomed to cult!

I love this show! It rarely gets too gruesome and if it does, Spencer warns you.

Complaining about the amount of ads on Lifetime while having 4 ad breaks in his 25 minutes episode lol… love you though!!

Long time Geoff, fresh cult babe here. Absolutely love the Gypsy Rose Life After Lock Up recaps. My mom has munchausen and the was definitely some Munchausen By Proxy among my sisters and myself from her. I want to know all about the show, because of course. Currently I’ve reached a break though in my own healing resulting in me finally being an artist who makes art: in pain I g fourteen canvases! All this to say, I’m not watching media at the moment. Spencer’s commentary and retelling of highlights is just what I needed! Even subscribed to wondery for the early access, because I freaking love the vibes here. While I don’t find myself laughing as much as when listening to oBITCHuary, but I’m learning A LOT! Sorry for the long winded review, just wanted to say I appreciate the Gypsy Rose mini episodes greatly 🩷🩷🩷

This show is one of a few I look forward to every week and went back in the catalogue to listen to. It’s always interesting to hear multiple takes of a case or a cult or any situation really. Spencer Henry does a great job of researching a variety of subjects and is a joy to listen to.

The story of this hate group has been around TOO long…with you speaking on it recently, it brings back memories from approx 12 years ago. Our local Baptist church was having a funeral for a young man. If recall correctly he had been a soldier and took his own life- military and suicide- prime picking for these people with so much hate to spew. Ugh! They show up- signs, bull horns, just a ridiculous scene. The local high school was directly across the street- so this church and this school have been on the same block for MANY years. The school transportation dept. took it upon themselves to surround the entire church with school busses. As family and friends were safely inside- the busses pulled around and blocked these people from getting closer and it reduced the noise so those inside could not hear them. It was an amazing show of support for local folks. Westboro never returned! Love your content Spencer!!

So listen. It’s good storytelling but Spencer, listen.. Joyce McKinney’s Kirk is not “man OCK ld” but MAN ah cld. And “him and his friend went to the store” should be “he and his friend went” unless you want to say “him went to the store.” If you want to be a serious podcaster You have an obligation to check out pronunciations of words, places and names you’ve never heard used before. Ouch

Hey Spencer, I have a suggestion for the echo issue in the Little Liter episode. Search amazon for a tabletop compact microphone isolation shield. Just a suggestion but I think it will help.

Recently became obsessed with cults and serial killers and this show is great! Good mix of storytelling and humor, really enjoying it.

So many interesting and dark stories told with a light hearted tone. The host is so charming and likeable. A great podcast if you like spooky stories.

Great podcast it has the interesting part of the true crime but taken with thought to unreliable pieces of evidence. Good podcast.

Normally I don’t write a review, however I am truly bothered by the episode on Jehovah’s Witness. Your guest was dripping in distain as she was discussing her experience on the religion. Every point has an exaggeration to it and a splash facts. As the host I would think you would do your own due diligence about the religion and ask harder , tougher, thought provoking questions if the goal is to classify this religion as a cult… side note if your guest hated being a Jehovah’s Witness, she would not care about her status in the congregation and she would want nothing to do with the religion, much less sit on a podcast mischaracterising the religion and the members that are willing and happy to be a Jehovah Witness. It’s important for your platform to do due diligence on all of the religions or groups of congregations so that the material you are providing has facts, good points and counter points and something to review objectively .

I just found this podcast. Well researched and well told. I appreciate all the work that goes into this. Learned about this podcast from Morbid podcast.

I love this podcast SO much! Spencer is such a wonderful story teller and I truly feel like I’m in a room with my friend as they tell me a story when I listen. I have struggled to find an easy to listen to podcast with a host that I enjoy but baby this is it!

I really enjoy this show because it’s all about storytelling and not about what tv shows are on or mercy for sale etc etc. The topics are timely and juicy, and the little liters are a nice mid week treat. Well done🎊

I’m honestly getting tired of the qAnon episodes. The first few were fine but I just don’t find it interesting at all. I’ll just skip the future ones.

Please learn how to speak without using the word ‘like’ every two seconds. I think this is like, probably a great podcast but like, I’ll never know.
