SarahBell@hConsistent FavoriteVery well curated, well-researched when necessary, and reliably unsettling. Having listened to the full series (some episodes more than twice), I’d never miss a week!

MytismisaffectedLove this podcast but Mortified means embarrassedI think your podcast is wonderful, I listen to it all the time. But, you frequently use the word mortified when I think you’re looking for the word horrified. Mortified means very embarrassed. That’s my only critique and I mean it with kindness and love.

5un5h1ne6Editing is really badSuch a shame. The last few episodes have been repeating random stories cutting right in the middle. Now a commercial ad for better help overlaying your narration. Fire the editor, or people will have no choice but atop listening from cognitive dissonance and little gas lighting from sloppiness.

inda257love this podcastmy favorite podcast!!! I love listening to this on long car rides and when im cleaning or doing homework.
-
LJHotzler👏🏻Even though the burps startle me a bit, I try to think of them as kooky Easter eggs hidden in the episodes. 😆😆😆
-
DZ LizzyWell done! This is a great podcast with hardly any ad-filler or host chatter. The host reads seamlessly and the background music adds to each story. I highly recommend listening to this podcast if you’re into scary stories. Well done! Also love the rare Rick Sanchez-style burp during the reads.

candle28OmgI love this podcast. I truly do hope the stories are real and your voice is quite soothing but my goodness dude…. Edit out your burps and More importantly your spontaneous F- bombs! 🤣
-
Jourdan WEdit out the burps, PLEASE😂😭I absolutely love this podcast and have listened to every episode at least twice, but the disgusting belches that have been included in the last few episodes are both jarring and nauseating. I don’t know if you’re attempting to troll your audience or what, but it’s actually repulsive. Aaand “dingy” (gloomy/drab) is pronounced “dinJEE” unless you’re talking about a small boat (i.e. a “dinghy”).

*bloodclaudia3*Great podcast! This podcast is so good! The last podcast episode put out about deep sea/lake dive scares are a on whole other level of scary!!!! Stuff I couldn’t even imagine! I would love more! Great narrator, his voice is the best!😱 also please more creepy woods/ skin walker stories

goldenshower88Yay!I have been listening to you on YouTube for a while and just saw you had a podcast! Sorry for the late arrival, I am such a fan! Thank you for scaring and putting me to sleep at the same time!
-
anichole662solid podcast!!there’s nothing I would change about this podcast, the stories are spooky and creepy & I love that (hopefully) they are true stories, the narrators voice is so soothing and great for story telling, love the length, never get tired of this podcast!!!
-
My life is deterioratingLove itMost of the story’s are probably fake, but I use them as inspiration for writing stuff. I also like the true crime bits . Thanks this is really great
-
BestbeautyspotcomLove the storiesThe voice is soothing and there are some great stories
-
Cadence HallGreat podcast but not the best everThe Let’s Read Podcast has been a staple of my relaxation routine for years. However, it goes without saying that it’s not the absolute best podcast out there, I would be biased to stage so. Podcasts like these are more so for loyal listeners rather than a listener looking for a quick and easy story to follow. It is, on the other hand, informative and interesting depending if the reader is interested in the topic discussed in the podcast.
-
Spartan sauceBest podcastThis is the most consistent and epic story podcast , I’ve ever listened to… keep up the great work 🫡🤌🏼
-
fl_scumLove, let’s readI love this podcast, but whoever reads this most of the stories are completely made up. They are not true at all.
-
WhiskeyscotchThank you so muchThis podcast has helped me sleep so much. Each episode is amazing quality and the stories are always entertaining. I love that they are long too!! Please do some true crime centered episodes in the future!!
-
YourMomIsAlwaysRightToo much…?You forgot to edit out a good strong burp on the last issue and I am still laughing. Love the pod, love how real you are, and thanks for the laugh in the middle of some sobering stories.
-
McLovinisAwesomenever stop these!i listen to these every time i’m trying to take a nap or relax enough to sleep, not many podcasts help me with this but this podcast always helps me because of how smooth his voice is :)
-
KateGaleana1/14 44:30 voice change!!I love this podcast, it’s my favorite!! So listening while doing laundry and right at the time I listed in the title, your voice changes!! I had to rewind to triple check lol so are you naturally deeper like you are because I dig it very very much
-
dogsplantsanesthesiaLong drawn out storytellingHe used to have exciting, concise stories, but I guess he isn’t gathering content because these stories are so drawn out in order to make up for time. I like his voice, but I don’t care for the newer styles.
-
Sophie4eHighly recommendTremendous podcast! What I love about it is his consistency in posting. The stories are very interesting, and most of them are true.
-
RealTeddyBabyHonest opinionI love podcasts, I love “true” stories, scripted stories, I pretty much enjoy listening to interesting audio while working to help the day go by faster and keep focused on work but I’m sorry these stories are kinda boring. And I’m in my early 30s so I’m not saying that as a young kid. I gave it about 2 months but I’m tapping out and moving on. Respectfully. 😅✌️
-
YourThirdNutperfectgenuinely no flaws with this podcast other than he might reside stories from months and months ago, very solid podcast i’ve been using this for years to get thru school and work
-
eldfennelFavorite podcastI love this podcast so much. Use it to sleep but it sometimes keeps me up how good the writing and stories are. I’m a writer and can’t stand AI generated stories. These are well written and his voice is awesome.
-
adda bunnySpellbinding 🔮This narrator has a cool mesmerizing and soothing voice, which contrasts very nicely with the subject matter.
-
1sheek1Favorite podcast!I absolutely LOVE this podcast! The stories are all so interesting and well written. It is the perfect podcast to listen to as you’re falling asleep because of the host’s smooth, soothing voice. I also appreciate that each episode is around 2hrs.
-
Deth2BLMStop with the false headlinesThe newest episode doesn’t even reflect what the stories are. The headline doesn’t match with the story details. I hate that these stories are getting more and more fake. These use to be fun to listen to. Now it’s just fake suspense to jack off to.

AshleyWorkCaptivating, Chilling, and Addictive! If you’re a fan of suspenseful storytelling and enjoy losing yourself in spine-tingling narratives, the Let’s Read podcast is an absolute must-listen. Hosted by a brilliant narrator with a voice perfectly suited for the genre, this show delivers some of the most engaging and eerie stories you’ll find anywhere. Each episode is a masterclass in immersive storytelling. The host’s deliberate pacing and rich tone draw you into every chilling detail, whether it’s a true-crime tale, paranormal encounter, or internet mystery. The background music and sound effects are subtle but effective, heightening the atmosphere without overshadowing the stories. What sets Let’s Read apart is its connection to real-life experiences. Many episodes feature firsthand accounts sourced from Reddit or listener submissions, adding an authentic and relatable element to the horror. You can feel the personal stakes in each story, which makes the podcast all the more haunting. Whether you’re listening on a late-night drive, curled up in bed, or just need an escape into the mysterious, Let’s Read will have you hooked from the first episode. It’s not just a podcast—it’s an experience. Highly recommended for anyone who loves the darker side of storytelling! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Grave HuntyLong Standing Favorite!I’ve been a fan for years. From the stories chosen to his voice and narrations, this is my favorite option out there. His story compilations on YouTube led to me finding him here. I have put on episodes all day everyday many weeks in a row before and I’ve yet to desire another show more. Also I’ve played this show in the background to feel less alone/more comfortable during much needed sleep. You won’t regret trying him out. Just to note* The negative star ratings* about the ads don’t appear to be authentic or real people. I think you’ll really love the time spent listening to each of these episodes. 👍🏼
-
HermphroditeNow just stories about people’s dreamsWhich is the worst thing in the entire world, obviously.
-
spOOKYmama18AddictingI absolutely look forward to hearing this every Tuesday! I even go back and listen to the oldies and I cannot get enough! Great work!
-
.reviews! 💜BEST Creepy Story Podcast | BEST Narrator | 12/10I’ve been listening to Let’s Read, specifically this podcast, for over three years now and it never ceases to keep me hooked! Not only is the concept of the podcast one of the most creative forms of entertainment, in my opinion, but the perfectly voiced narrations, and attention to detail throughout listening is incredible! One of the best podcasts out there! 💜
-
allyssameowsUsed to be a staple podcast for meNow the ads are getting very weird and niche. Not looking for political ads mixed into my spooky stories. Unsubscribed and sadly won’t be back.
-
Corgi WendyBest road trip podcastI’m fairly new to the podcast but I’m already loving it
-
aprnjennno other narrator comes closeme and my family have been listening to this podcast and u tube channel for 7 years and joel my guy you have come a long way!! i and my family are some of your biggest fans!!!
-
1stLoloGreat voice and narrationMy only issue is reading the over opinionated reviews of people not understanding these are not news articles not often submitted stories. Some are yes, but either listen and enjoy or cry elsewhere. The negativity isn’t welcome with these channels or narrators who are providing a service you are not forced to participate in. You rock dude, love listening to the tape sessions with ya! -Lolo
-
DavidStirlingLess “Creepy Guy” storiesI’ve noticed that more and more of the episodes, regardless of theme, are populated with “creepy guy” stories. These are not my favorite. Stories about things that scare 16-26 yr old females (in addition to “creepy guys”) like, noises, wind, the dark, hallways, no WiFi, etc. are generally not scary and always anticlimactic. I just had to put it out there. Otherwise, love most eps! Kindest Regards
-
phoenixbird19My favoriteI have listened to every single one of these podcasts. I look forward to Tuesdays when the new episode comes out. My absolute favorite voice by far. Great stories and great voice.
-
LizzyPumpkinsUsed to like it but the sponsors are questionable…Long time listener but ads and sponsers are getting very niche and weird. I don’t need to be preached to. Unsubscribed today.
-
PdlilyA bonanza of purple proseFirst off, cholera is pronounced kol/er/a with the stress on the first syllable. Second, the purple prose used in these missing stories is laughable at best, and disrespectful at worst. These are sad, unsettling stories that don’t need the heavy handed treatment given here. A straight recitation of the story is impactful on its own. I’d give it a . Today, you outdid yourself . You libeled a murder victim and his family for no other reason than his Italian heritage. More than once you raised organized crime as a possible reason for his murder! You intimated that his family might be involved as well, with no facts to substantiate your claim. He played the ponies? Seriously? I’d sue you for defamation.
-
Shrooms69I want more!I binged this podcast over the period of a few months while at work, and now I listen to the new ones as they come out, and no other true horror podcast I’ve found has better stories or narration. It’s kinda sad actually lol, Joel keep it up!!
-
ShaunaTheDeadLove itI love LETS READ! I also love how long the episodes are. Great for listening at work! Listened to this podcast literally all day yesterday.
-
Gizmo/117Good PodcastI work alone most time and when I found this podcast, omg I love it. The stories are amazing and sometimes terrifying. But it’s really interesting and the guy has a good voice. Keep up the amazing work, I look forward every week for his podcast.
-

-
Scv95The best scary story podcastI’ve tried to find another podcast like this one but haven’t. This is the best true scary story podcast by far!!
-
MǎłįğńâńțAmazingI’m caught up on every podcast, It literally helps me get through my work day. They aren’t coming out fast enough for me so I just re listen to them, which isn’t a problem because I love these stories. I literally can’t focus if I listen to anything else. Best podcast ever.
