Representing the Black experience in Art
I really liked how you interwove context in to what you saw at the exhibition. The historical information was wonderful. I really appreciated your identification of a Black vibrant community, Seneca Village. Many people are not aware that such communities existed all over the USA. Thank you for your sensitive heart. Logical, practical and magical!
Inspiration hardly covers what I get from listening to this podcast. I stumbled upon Miriam’s words early this summer and listened to almost the entire library of episodes throughout the summer months while painting in my studio. Everything about this podcast is relatable to me. It’s as if Miriam is in my head and sorting through my thoughts of confusion and answering questions I’ve had rattling around for years. Her pure logic with a touch “woo woo” is exactly what I needed. I subsequently ordered her book and read it cover to cover the week before a show. Lo and behold, armed with my new mindset, I sold a $1000 painting! Thank you Miriam..I know this is just the beginning! @gypsyfishstudio

I’m so happy I found this podcast. I listened to one or two episodes in the past, but recently so much more of this applies to me and my art! Love how she tackles relevant and current issues in the art world. I’m going to keep listening to this during my walks because why not? More info can only help us! Thanks again, @christalkapleart!

    Inspired by THIS place!
I can’t believe it took me so long to find my way here. This podcast is going to replace so many others that repeat topics and keep on interviewing one another like some strange mutual admiration society. Miriam is a breath of fresh air and I am binging her episodes all day while I paint. Her realistic feedback on topics and her openness is refreshing and authentic. I even went online and got your three day workshop and am working on that starting today. Miriam is generous with her time too. I’m very impressed. Give this a listen. You just might find your tribe! @Shutterbunny_Art

    Every Episode Inspiring to Creatives!
The inspiration Place is a fabulous podcast! I am a student of Miriam’s Art Incubator program, and this is the perfect complement to keep me motivated! Unlike some, Miriam gives you all new information not just a regurgitation of what was in her or book or course. I bounce back-and-forth between the new episodes and the earlier ones, and I found at least one fantastic gem in each one. It gives me that extra nudge that I need to keep working towards my goal. I’m always taking notes, looking up her guests, and applying what I learn to my own art! Love it! Keep it up!

    Artist Zest Whisperer
The Inspiration Place covers those pragmatic things I wonder about as an emerging artist, but it’s Miriam’s conversations with guests that really tease-out the unique journey of the creative process interspersed with the real and sometimes messy parts of day-to-day life. Miriam is firm, funny, and fantastically committed to cheering you on as an artist! It’s also why I’ve recommended her to a ‘ladies art group’ that I’ve been a part of for a decade, and continue to catch her pods weekly!

Representing the Black Experience in Art Podcast
This was an enjoyable and informative podcast! You touched on a number of different items in it; I was particularly interested in the MET's 'Fictions of Emancipation: Carpeaux Recast Symposium'. I went to the Met's website and started listening to one of their videos on that subject... haven't finished listening but what I did hear was very fascinating and informative. Thanks for sharing the info on 'Cotton Pickers' by Winslow Homer; I don't think I'd heard of it before.

    This Did My Heart Good!
I needed validation that just being myself, being curious (as I naturally am), being relational (as I am), and sharing what I'm excited about can help to lay the kind of foundation that will create relationships with people who will eventually be interested in my art. Thank you!

    A Wonderful Podcast
This is one of my favorite podcasts! I'm not an "artist" in the painting sense. I design and make jewelry. I am also in the older crowd (60s) so love a teacher that is closer in age to me and my life. This podcast is full of inspirations and information. It's very easy to listen to. I'm a podcast junkie so love the fact that it is not long and drawn out but more to the point and doesn't waste your time. You won't regret listening to it!

I am probably the newest Miriam Schulman fan out there. She immediately makes you feel like she’s your best Art buddy and friend in the world, and the first person you think of when you want to talk and learn about anything art related. And like some of my artist snobs, Mirium’s not boring! She is very engaging and you really get that she really cares about what she does. And in turn, makes us care! Thank you Miriam!
