I inherited a small oil royalty interest years ago and was trying to decide whether to try and sell the interest or convey it to one or more of my children. These podcasts were very helpful and I strongly recommend them for someone in my situation.

My family inherited mineral rights from our gg grandmother, a civil war widow. I have had to learn as much as I can about mineral rights to verify the details of our ownership and earnings. This podcast is full of useful information -- helps to answer outstanding questions and formulate new ones. Even somewhat experienced owners can glean a good bit of information in each episode. Matt and his co-hosts (typically Justin) explain in ways that are deep and yet easy to understand. There are so few resources for owners -- I'm glad to have found this one!

My cousins and I inherited mineral rights from our parents and grandparents, and we didn’t know anything - including what we had. I volunteered to begin unraveling the puzzle and this is one of the resources I’m using to do just that. I’m learning more with every podcast I listen to (and I still have quite a few to catch up on), and the tools and links that have been provided are and will be a huge assistance in this journey. I just found this podcast a few weeks ago and have spent hours already trying to gain a basic understanding of the oil and gas industry. My siblings and I inherited my dad’s oil companies and mineral rights when he passed away unexpectedly in 2006. I wish I would have had a resource like that years ago but better late than never! Thank you for explaining the verbiage and how this industry works for those who are not acquainted with the oil and gas industry!

Excellent resource for the oil and gas mineral/royalty owner! The balanced emphasis on the perennial nuts and bolts of managing such interests, as well as timely updates on market conditions and other developments of interest, should benefit owners and advisors of all levels of knowledge and experience. Finally, unlike some other products out there, Matt and his guests offer thoughtful and dispassionate perspectives on matters directly impacting the mineral/royalty owner, as opposed to a bunch of ideological blather or oil-industry spin.

I’ve worked in the oil and gas industry an account for about 12 years. This podcast has really helped me connect how mineral rights and my work as an accountant fit together. I was able to get pertinent information on mineral rights and apply it to my specific situation. What’s great about the MRP is that it offers the fundamentals of mineral rights with it’s many facets. With each episode the listener graduates into the realm of understanding their mineral rights -both from the perspective of a landowner, and also as a potential mineral rights investor. By listening to this podcast i’m expanding my knowledge base. I am gaining confidence in my ability to make decisions with my mineral rights. This podcast has NO DOUBT saved me money and helped me to arrive at decisions that will benefit myself and potentially my legacy.
