ShelleyPullsGreat for viewers who found DA lateI watched the series well after it aired so never had the opportunity to talk about it “over the water cooler.” I appreciate the discussion by other non-fanatical viewers who have different interpretations or noticed things I missed. For example, it never occurred to me that Mrs. Patmore was directing the Ouija board messages to Daisy. This podcast is a nice companion piece to people who watched DA alone.

At the wheelNot fun or helpfulThe “expert” on the show seems like she is not even watching the show. She’s not helpful in clarifying questions. I had to stop in episode 2 when she started eating during the recoding and was simply responding with her mouth full, “mmm hmmm.” She keeps going off topic on other shows which she is clearly more interested in. I also had a hard time with their own elitism about their jobs and titles, followed directly by a vitriolic indictment of the elitism which was normal for the period of the show. I can’t. I’m done.

MeyersevNot For True Fans Of The ShowUnfortunately, these ladies don’t know much about either Downton Abbey or the historical time it was set in. Even the one who claims to have seen the show multiple times gets most things wrong. They completely lost me when they said the Dowager (who they could barely identify) does not do anything “because she is a WOMAN.” How little they know of history before the year of their own births. Just skip this one.

Schmaster20Speak into the mic more oftenIt gets really quiet at times but other than that I’ve enjoyed it. Did they not realize the dowager gave away the best bloom prize even though she technically won it?

TAD1776Entertaining Podcast - like chatting with friendsI had never watched Downton Abbey until now. I was looking for a podcast to listen to as I was watching and decided on this one. It really has the feel of talking with girlfriends about what you just watched on tv. It’s casual like the title of the podcast says. It’s not super analytical or deep but fun as entertaining. I do understand some of the fellow reviewers frustration over important details being missed. Those lapses did not keep me from enjoying the podcast though.

a mutinous toasterGood not greatEnjoyed listening, but the mistakes were a bit annoying, mainly from the “super” fan. They both seemed to correct themselves most of the time as the episodes went on. Still a pleasant experience overall. WAY better than the Office Ladies podcast in the sense that this feels much more genuine and they’re better at staying on topic. They do get off topic occasionally, but not nearly as bad as Office Ladies.

Plano JayI really wanted to like this podcast ...This is not a good Downton Abbey podcast. The hosts know very little about the program, despite (presumably) having watched. Their insights are lacking depth demonstrated by the flippant, nonsensical and banal comments. I hoped it would improve as they progressed through the series. It has not.

loreal33Good enough for me to bingeI like to be thorough and started with episode 1. Fun premise and I love the topic, one girl is a super fan and one girl is a Downton virgin. The girls are easy to listen to but struggle with staying focused, I like to hear a good tangent once in a while so will stick with this to see if they can find a good balance. I am also a bit surprised that the self proclaimed super fan struggles at times with basic information on the show. I am going to stick with it as the girls are funny and bring up good points and the timing is right for me since I am re-watching Downton myself.

JohnBatesFootman5 Tiny LettersThis show is a fun little breakdown pod! While there are certainly rambly bits and lack of structure, the ladies have a great rapport and the show feels like you just sat and watched the episode with them. I'd love to see a RFT and LOG collaboration!

raerosenowLots of misinformationThe girls are nice and I enjoyed listening to them chat, but had to stop after only a few episodes because the girl that has watched the show 4 times through was getting a lot of basic information wrong. Things like not understanding the line of succession, that there are several dogs throughout the show and the one in the first episodes is actually a male named Pharaoh, and even the number of season. There are 6, not 7. Many mistakes and misinformation with regard to the culture and society in the show as well. Other than that it was a nice podcast. Wish I could have listened to more but the mistakes were driving me crazy.
