Of all of the podcasts I’ve phased in and out of listening to, this one has remained a constant. I think it’s so important to be insightful about where yourself and others come from and how that impacts your walk through life. Dax and Monica do a great job of relaying their and their guest’s humanity and I just love love love this show. I’ve learned so much.

Such a heartfelt and just overall fantastic episode. Anyone thats trying to make it through a difficult time or just wants to be inspired have a listen. The story about the prank she and her kids pulled on the ice cream shop clerk ruined my workout because I was laughing so hard.

I like Dax Shepherd, but not this show.

I’m listening to Tyler Perry right now and I am loving it! I’m excited to watch some of these movies you’re talking about. Regarding the word “GAL”. I am a pasty white woman in her 50s and I totally understand what Tyler is saying about how the slang, “Gal” is offensive, especially in the context he explained. I have never liked being called Gal because I’m not a girl, a woman, and when a man calls me Gal, I feel like he’s trying to infantilize me as a woman. (It feels the same as if he were to pat me on the head and say, calm down little lady.) I’m not even a hard-core feminist, but that word has always felt disrespectful. Dax, I’m sure you meant nothing by it and I loved how Tyler was so kind to help you learn something new. We don’t know what we don’t know. Keep up the good work! I love that I finally found this podcast.

Thank you for rereleasing the Monica Lewinsky interview as I did not hear it the first time. Such an interesting and insightful conversation. Online bullying affects so many, in which we need more people speaking out and trying to make positive improvements.

Love Dax, great podcast host. It is so challenging listening to Monica that I’ve found myself avoiding listening despite an interest in a topic or guest. The talk of exorbitant purchases is painful. Good for you, you work hard but so do a lot of people. The tone deaf quality is disconcerting. And is she a girl boss, or a whiny brat in their late 30s? It changes from one second to the next. The wealth talk, inside jokes funny to no one (stop with the inane sim talk) and saying things like “we love childhood trauma” to a guest. What? Or taking issue with Obama asking you about your career path. Seriously? I am female, and admire strong female voices and want my daughter to do the same. Please consider the platform you have, and use it for good, not constantly referencing how rich you are, taking issue where none exists, or saying things that make everyone embarrassed for just hearing it.

I’ve never listened to this podcast but I plan to at some point. Until that point arrives I can’t say this podcast has anything valuable to offer unfortunately.

This podcast is not about authenticity or messiness of being human. It’s about how rich and entitled they are. They keep lying instead of saying the truth they only care about their entitlement and their money. They will continue to fight controlling the narrative so they don’t get cancelled and remain rich and famous.

I’ve been a long time listener. I love Dax and Monica. What a dynamic duo they are. The rerelease of Dax’s episode with his mom was so incredibly inspiring and touching. Keep up the great work!

I found this podcast through Flightless Bird, which Monica also co-hosts. Y’all stop hating on her in the reviews- she’s delightful. She’s also the voice twin of Lucy from Wine and Crime podcast (another of my favorites). Really enjoyed the musical Christmas episode!

Dax AND Monica are great (why so much hate on Monica? I think she’s hilarious). This podcast gets me through boredom, my commute to work, and even bad moods! I started listening from the 2024 backwards and after going through the whole catalog, I can say the show is only getting better. To Dax and Monica (and Wobby): please ignore the haters. Folks can have their opinions. What you do matters and makes a difference.

Dear Wondery. Can you please fire Monica???? I beg of you! I want so badly to listen to Dax, guest and wobby but Monica has become utterly insufferable. Worse, is with each new episode, Monica commandeers more and more of it, and thus we get less and less of Dax… it’s become unbearable. I use to tolerate her for Dax & guest, but every interjection from Monica hurts my insides. She’s a spoiled, vapid, self infantilized child who brings NOTHING to the table. Other than the worst fake laugh and the teenage “Oh My God” at the most inappropriate times. Because she’s almost always clueless regarding the topic at hand, she tries to fake awareness/understanding with the constant “yea” “yesss” “uh huh” and the laugh… good god what is that sound? And the intentional mispronunciation of words like “picture” in a shameless attempt to mirror Dax. This has no identity or sense of self (or anyone else for that matter) and she’s the epitome of a “social climber”In summation, she personifies everything I avoid in a friend. I resent that she sits next to Dax, in the most highly coveted chair in the podcast universe.. And she doesn’t deserve it. Period. Please leave a review if u agree!!!!

Was a Gift during this year of negativity but then came the “Amazon ad”… stepping away for awhile. I canceled everything Amazon which wasn’t easy. Not canceled as in culturally but as in monetarily. So… thanks for the memories.

Dax, people listen in spite of Monica’s personality, never bc of it. If anyone doesn’t think exactly like her, she sees them as wrong and puts them down. She never adds anything to the conversation, infact, she takes away from it. She has to be the most entitled brat ever. To be so smart (in her eyes) you can’t go k she could do more than fake laugh and offer some ugly outfit she paid way too much fun. Also, notice Monica has had zero bfs bc no man could handle having to deal with her. I fast forward through the introductions and the fact checks always bc of her. Lately, I struggle loving the pod as much as I did I the beginning. And it’s all do to Monica being horrible. And I hate to break it to her, but lots of us didn’t vote for Kamala and it has nothing to do with being anti woman and everything to do with Kamala being as big of an idiot as Monica is….

It’s my first listen, and the stark contrast between the deep, insightful, inspiring conversation with Fei Fei Li to apparently saving back hair and leg hair for future mittens was unexpected. Well, let’s see what other mildly disturbing info comes up! I’m along for the ride, I love learning things AND feeling comparatively normal!

Armchair Expert got me into podcasts, but Dax has changed too much since I started listening. This podcast is just a money grab and has lost all substance.

Your podcast brings a lot of entertainment and insight, and your candid, personal storytelling is one of the things that makes it so engaging. That said, I wanted to offer some feedback about the recent “Crazy Neighbors” episode where you discussed the story of a 70-year-old female neighbor experiencing what could be described as a "mental disturbance" or possibly Alzheimer’s. While I understand humor is often a way to navigate uncomfortable or complex stories, I felt the giggling tone of this segment might have unintentionally crossed into territory that could be hurtful or dismissive. Mental health struggles and diseases like Alzheimer’s are deeply challenging not only for the individuals experiencing them but also for their families and communities. Referring to this person as “crazy” and laughing about her situation may unintentionally perpetuate stigma against those living with mental illness or cognitive decline. I know this likely wasn’t your intention. With one of you being 10 years sober and holding a degree in anthropology, your perspectives on human behavior are often nuanced and compassionate. Perhaps this story could have been an opportunity to explore the complexities of mental health, aging, and community care with the same depth you bring to other topics. This feedback comes from a place of respect and appreciation for your work. I believe your platform has the power to not only entertain but also foster empathy and understanding.

I took a long pause with podcasts as I was chomping my way through many audiobooks. Thank gosh episodes are saved. Listen to laugh, listen to learn. One of the most refreshing podcasts I have recently come across….

Monica Padman is the most annoying person in podcasting. Whiny complainer with the fakest laugh I’ve ever heard. I only listen to Armchair Anonymous and fast forward through the intro so I don’t have to hear her talk. This podcast is only digestible when other people are talking.

I used to religiously listen to the show and it just feels so out of touch now. It started as somewhat relatable and now it feels so far from it.

I am so grateful to Dax Shepard for this show. I am grateful to him for opening up, for being honest, for sharing with all of us and exploring with his guests. And to his fabulous partner, editor, and often co-host. You have discussed together and with guests, particularly the recent (Nov 2024) interview with Anna Kendrick, relevant and important topics. Thank you to her as well. I felt a part of a conversation with friends, my turn to listen and absorb.

Monica is too fragile when it comes to politics. I’m done. Really enjoyed the show and Dax you’re awesome. Let’s go riding bikes sometime. Matt

Regarding Thanksgiving 2, Episode 820 Hi Cameron, you should request an endoscopy for this choking issue. I have the same symptoms and have had my endoscopy canceled for the 2nd time by my insurance. The GI doctor said the barium swallow test won’t show all the issues that could be causing it. My grandpa and his sister had this and I’m told that during an endoscopy they can stretch the throat and fix the problem. If you get it done, I’d love to hear if they found what’s causing it. Hopefully insurance will get their act together and I can get it done too.

It sounds like eosinophilic esophagitis, diagnosed by a scope with biopsies (esophogram can be normal with this)

I feel for you so much! I suffered from this for so many years! It’s called a Schatzki's ring and is a ring of tissue that forms inside the esophagus, the tube that carries food and liquid to your stomach. I definitely recommend he sees a doctor! There’s a simple procedure with a balloon that fixes the whole thing! My life is so much better having done this!🙏

Consider editing out all of the compliments people give after their story or when their spouse wants to meet the Dax or Monica. It’s very self serving and distracting from the podcast which is already filled with banter. The hosts can have a private chat with the caller but we all don’t need to hear them compliment Dax over and over again.

Such a fun show. Dax, your questions are “spot on” and I so appreciate your humility. Monica, please stop saying “ oh my God”…..rather offensive.

I relate to Dax in many ways except for the penis part. Monica is an incredible young woman with boundless courage and an almost measurable growth talent & maturity that resilience didn’t leave her behind, (It took me 42 years to recognize the difference between emotional maturity vs. age on my license..) Another 14 years later and the brilliant learning opportunities this show gives on the reg might elevate me to absolutely flipping brilliant! Thank you for being my “people” that I can expand my human-ness

I listened to the Sharon Says So episode and the editing is so distracting. All normal pauses are clipped out… so much that it comes off so unnatural. I would really like to hear a more normal conversation… maybe they are trying to get it to fit in a certain time frame?

I used to listen religiously—- i love Dax and genuinely enjoy him and his interesting and intelligent questions — he obviously carries the show. Monica, I tried. For years. I wanted to like her and thought since Dax and Kristen love her so much that she would eventually grow on me, but sadly it’s been the opposite. I don’t get it. She adds nothing to the show- in fact she drags it down. She’s unbearably insufferable - and it’s so clear lately that the guests think so too. They tolerate her - at best. Good for her for somehow winning this jackpot job and life, but It’s now become nails on a chalkboard for my ears when she opens her mouth. Love Dax, but I can’t.

I stopped being a political junkie on 11/5/24. So I turned to you guys for the 1st time for the fun you bring. With every episode I love you, Monica, Rob, Kristen, & all of your guests more & more until my heart is filled with joy now. (Thank you for not talking about politics much.) Your show is not only joyous, but I learn so, so much, & you make me think in new ways each time. At first, when I heard you weren’t going to act anymore, I was so sad, because you are so good & interesting to watch. But now I totally get it - you are doing exactly what you are supposed to be doing, & it’s extraordinary. So, thank you. I freaking adore you guys!

I listened to this show when it first came out and really enjoyed it. I thought Dax was really natural with guests, and I enjoyed that he was the main voice of the podcast. Tuning back in recently, I have been drawn in by who they have on as guests. They get some super relevant and interesting people. However, the substance just isn’t there anymore. Each conversation seems to be all about working in show business, and less about who those people are as ‘people’. These conversations about how someone got their break, or a certain role, or how a specific scene went, just don’t matter to me anymore. Beyond that, I don’t feel like Monica adds much to the show. Her laugh is super distracting. In some situations that doesn’t matter, but in podcast/audio format when that’s all you have, all I can hear is that. All that to say, I think I’m finally just done with this podcast, whether I changed, or it did.

I have to laugh that you hope everyone is doing ok after the election. Not sure what it Will take for all of you celebrities to realize no one cares what you think! Do you see how many areas of California voted for Him🤣🤣🤣! Keep living in your woke dreamland…

Everyone is coming to the realization he’s utterly clueless about his privilege with the recent interview with Cynthia Erivo. So to drag him seems proper and to call out anyone’s hygiene or rather ask a personal question about using the bathroom… read the comments and wash your kids. Stop asking these dumb questions. You’re too Old to be out of touch.

I was an armcherry for years but I unfollowed the show and I feel so much better life now. I never really liked Monica, she’s one of the most self-centered and vapid people I’ve ever heard. Yet I persisted with the show because I liked Dax and especially the experts that came on. For a time, I felt the show added value to my life, but over time Dax started to get on my nerves too. He would tell the same stories over and over and also has a lot of strong opinions about being a parent that really started to trigger me. I’m so much happier since I stopped listening.

First of all I want to say how much I love listening to you guys! Secondly I’m listening to old episodes first and heard the one where Monica had a Seizure and want her to know I feel for her. I just had 2 this year and they are definitely really scary!! Prayers neither of us have one again!

Love your podcast sooooo much! Would LOVE you interview Hope Solo. Watch her recent doc and then have her on. I think she has a lot to say and Dax could really deep dive with her and show a side the world may haven’t seen yet. She’s awesome and I think you guys would be the perfect ones to interview her.
