I absolutely love this podcast with all my heart

I am a woman who travels a lot and always have, and often by myself, though lately I’ve been bringing my dog with me, and I love hearing about other women’s experiences in the world. We do have to be more careful than men when we travel and, perhaps because of this or perhaps because of something else, I think we tend to see things and experience the world a bit differently. please keep this going! i really wouldn’t call this a travel show - it’s pretty sad because IT USED TO BE ONE! Ever since Meredith left it’s really just Lale interviewing women in topics that are only vaguely related to travel. Bring back the old show cuz this one isn’t doing it for me. I loved the old old show before women who travel - the Conde Nast Travel log - now that was a travel show. This one is pretty uninspiring!

I enjoy the podcast and was happy to complete the survey. However at the end when I clicked on enter the sweepstakes it said the link was no longer valid. Not a great experience.

I wasn’t aware that traveling ‘wherever’ to meet up with friends was considered solo travel? I wonder what Condé Nast labels those of us who travel and stay solo during a trip (not meeting up with friends and continuing the adventure) means? What’s our title? Uber solo traveler? Christi clearly meets up with friends in S.America as her IG page dictates. Does ‘Conde Nast Traveller’ know what a solo traveler is and do they fact check? If you need to interview solo traveling women- there’s a whole community of us. Please fact check and check SM accounts.

The guests are not savvy travelers, and the banter is that of 13-year-old girls. I don’t know who this podcast is targeted to, but it’s not helpful to anyone who has done even a little bit of travel. Come on Condé Nast. You can do better.

1000% cringe. The most BORING, MUNDANE stories. They’ll literally be like “I saw an apple, and I ate the apple, and it was the best apple” like… whaaaat?? This pod makes me feel bad for women

I was excited to find this podcast because I’m taking my first solo trip overseas next year and wanted to listen to a podcast focused on female travel and get some tips/advice for navigating foreign cities, meeting locals, and budgeting. Unfortunately most of these episodes have ended up being upper class women talking about their expensive work related travel or complaining about other travelers. It’s very elitist, lacks relevant information for anyone not staying at luxury resorts and driving a Land Rover, and honestly the hosts and guests seem to lack any passion for travel! Episode titles are misleading- the one that promised to discuss the trials of traveling with kids was just a woman talking about the recent solar eclipse and another who hated having to actually do things with her kids while on vacation. Boring and pretentious.

For some reason I’m always waiting for an episode that is enlightening and entertaining and the depressing undertone screams .

Engaging content, host is a skilled interviewer, and there is a wide variety of topics. The immersive episodes are great, where there’s lot of sound from a specific place(s (Cambodian vegetable market, Norwegian train) , and they’re best when they have a guest(s) who are very relatable (some aren’t quite as much). Especially like the shows that focus more on sustainability and the ethics of travel in the current world and that eschew a focus on high-end products or experiences. Overall, enjoyable to listen to and you’ll probably learn something from each episode.

These female woke liberals show their lack of education show after show. Embarrassing display of the British education system!

While I appreciate the show’s new direction since Meredith (the old host) left, the show’s tone has gotten much more somber. Travel is supposed to fun, thrilling and exciting - not just solemn soul searching! Bring the fun and laughter back.

I learn something new every time I listen to an episode. You can tell how much work and research goes into each one—such a great podcast! Definitely recommend!

Look forward to it every time. If you’re a woman, and you travel, it’s for you.

Thank you for this wonderful podcast about "women who travel" -- beautifully done interviews with really fascinating and down-to-earth adventurers. The interviews feel up close and personal. They’re inspiring, just wheni it’s a scary time for women to travel for so many reasons. I just listened to a woman who swims with sharks; and a woman who films mountain excursions to places such as Mount Everest. Also one about camping gone awry and they're all very engaging in an earth-positive way. Brava!

Not sure what happened to my favorite podcast but I really miss the looser more chatty format from before with two hosts and lots of visiting interviewees who also could be quiet chatty and (seemingly) unfiltered. It felt a little more raw and interesting.

This is my favorite podcast. They have the most interesting stories! I love the detail they put into everything, especially the sounds.

I am just beginning my traveling adventures, but get so much vicarious enjoyment from this podcast. Always a delight to listen to & so professionally done. Many thanks for opening my world

I’m new to this podcast and I find myself just listening to the episodes in which the guests interests me. It’s a good podcast but I was looking for a travel podcast and it doesn’t really seem like anyone’s truly traveling, just famous people working in different places. I’d like to hear more about travel and less about Hollywood. I’ll continue giving it a chance though.

One of the things I like best about this travel podcast, compared to others, is the interviews and the natural sound that helps us visualize a location. I want to feel like I’m where the story is and that’s hard to do on an audio medium.

I have loved this podcast for years from my time as a young female traveler for the artful way you tell stories of travel. It goes beyond tips and hacks to offer new perspectives and rich stories. There’s no other podcast like it! Now that I’m a parent, I do wish this podcast was more inclusive of women like myself who now have children. I find the stories increasingly unrelatable and honestly discouraging as a parent who can’t travel in the ways your guests describe. As your audience moves through these life stages, it would add so much value for us (and fill a void for these types of stories) to include traveling mothers in your stories.

I’ve listened to every episode of Women Who Travel since the very beginning. I don’t love the new format - Lale is a great host even on her own, but the sound effects and music in the new format really bother me. I know they’re supposed to “immerse” the listener in a location, but they’re poorly timed and incredibly distracting. Please consider losing or paring back on those elements!

I started listening because the subject matter of one podcast intrigued me, then I listened to another, and another, and another, etc. The topics are interesting and capture my attention and imagination even if I think at first that I’ll have no interest. The host’s voice is mellifluous and she enchants me with her questions, intelligence, point of view, and warm and welcoming manner. A treasure to have found this podcast!

I love listening to this podcast while I’m doing anything. From exercising to doing work it’s always a go to for me. It’s very engaging and witty. I always gather fantastic recommendations or find myself inspired to try something new. It definitely makes my days better!

After many years of not traveling, this podcast inspires me to save and plan. I’ve booked two international trips! Thanks!

I love listening to all the travel stories. Empowering and courageous ways of experiencing culture and environment provide me with memories of my past travels as well as some future dreams of places I have yet to visit! I’m now 75 and ready for more,,,,

Lale Arikoglu’s narration makes me eager to pack a bag and explore. Her travels are unusual and adventurous. Anxiety dissolves and curiosity expands. Ready for the next episode!

This podcast is like the Moth Radio Hour meets Bourdain. Really compelling interviews and anecdotes that bring you to new places and make you feel like one of the locals. And the host is fantastic!

So wonderful to have the Women who Travel podcast back. Lale- so impressive how you have transitioned this to this new version of it! Congrats!

A nice escape, especially after these last couple years!

Overall I have enjoyed this podcast but the episode titled “Responsible travel” on July 7th was so horrible I had to turn it off and write a review. Listening to the worst reductionist ideas of “responsible” travel which dripped of white savior syndrome made me gag. Did anyone listen to this episode and think critically if this was really a good episode? Claiming that “responsible travel” is when vacationers “educate” locals in hotels for 2hrs on topics and then get points for a massage should have been the red flag that this shouldn’t be put out into the world. Please think before hitting publish.

I feel left out. There are lots of women who are retired or over 50 who travel solo like me. Please include us

I love the broad spectrum of topics and discussions. Everything is so relatable making me feel like I CAN DO IT TOO. I absolutely recommend to find just one episode you’re interested in and you’ll be hooked. I can’t stop listening. I feel like I’m sitting at the table with them talking to my girlfriends who share the same love of our beautiful world and diversity and culture and adventure. I am such a fan of their positive, empowering outlook while they are educating their listeners on such important, valuable subjects.

This podcast has a range of episodes. Some seem silly and entitled but even those are done with a certain humor and a strong amount of companionship. And then there are those like the book reviews and the one I just listen to with Sara Nelson which moved me to tears multiple times and left me changed. I will say that I also had found the use of “like” at times distracting enough to turn off. But I think they’ve been working on it because I think it’s better

Talking about travel plans during this complex times is quite depressing for some people, but listening to so many fun things surrounding traveling makes the pandemic bearable. Everything from airport habits to awesome book recommendations made me enjoy every episode and remember traveling is much more than just moving from one place to another. Every episode reminded me of conversations with my friends.

Enjoy most episodes and find a few tips that relate to how I travel. I would appreciate less unconscious use of the word “like”. Every host overuses it, sometimes 3 or 4 times PER SENTENCE. Once I’m aware of it, it’s all I hear. So, like, distracting, like.

I have had many hours of fun and relaxation listening to the many topics that this travel podcast has made episodes about. As a travel lover, it constantly gets me inspired to keep exploring.

...but what about older (think retired) women who travel solo? I think you’re missing a large part of the community of travelers. But on the whole...even though you are not of my generation...I find your blog interesting and inspiring to travel more. I was not able to travel until I retired. I was 65 before I got my first passport and took a long distance international flight but by then I was a widow and traveling for myself instead of with my husband. Think about interviewing older travelers. There are a lot of us out there.

I used to love this podcast. Now I feel as if it has lost its energy and feels very “corporate” and scripted. Being up against so many podcasts from people that do this for fun and genuine authenticity makes this podcast feel very robotic. I don’t feel as if Meredith and Lale have that much chemistry. I’d almost rather hear them have a real conversation than to force these scripted, dry shows.
