Freddy_Frag_NutzThe bulwarkMy favorite person on the bulwark. Who’s more thoughtful with their words than Mr. frum

Lithiation ChemistGreat showOutstanding. I’m so happy David is doing this. He’s one of the most intelligent and insightful people around. This podcast will be at the top of my list.
-
Iamnotarobot0101001Actually goodHonest effort to look under the surface of current affairs with an aim for the reasonable person inside all of us.

Dana6300Excellent SensibilityIt’s hard to find a political podcast without the screaming and drama. This one is the sensible one. It’s straightforward and Frum provides insight and great guests who deliver facts. Heard Frum on my other favorite, The Bulwark, and I’m glad I checked it out.

Anon20162016who are we preaching to?well, done, Mr. Frum! I have heard no one examine the arguments put forth by the Trump 2.0 administration regarding tariffs more plainly and effectively. Now what needs to happen is that needs to trickle down, in even plainer language, to the population that doesn’t normally listen to The Atlantic podcasts. We can hope those folks will be triggered by their wallets, but it might help to engage them conceptually as well. IMHO, your greater mission is to create a more direct pipeline so that these sorts of arguments can speak to people in ways they care about and understand. That can be done. And if that is done, then people won’t have to continually feel such dismay about why so many people moved to the Republican/MAGA side in November…. because those folks elected Trump. We need a better pipeline.

chauvinist????Required listeningDavid Frum should be a required civics lesson for all American voters.

Contessa delle SciolleNeededVery planned broadcast.

Lulu3305Inaugural podcastThis was a very insightful episode. Thank you for all you are doing to help us through this difficult time.
-
Ellens8Great startExcellent discussion. Looking forward to more.
-
ImdavidfletcherGreat New PodcastAs always. Frum’s intellect is indeed impressive. Rahm is a great guest, but someone needs to coach him up on the term “own goal.” He repeatedly said “on goal.”
-
srblakelyFascinating and important conversationsAfter listening to the first 2 episodes I’m so excited about this show. I’ll be recommending it to friends.
-
LBJ all the way!Deep thinking is in short supply. Thank you for a bit of it.David Frum has an understanding of the broad, deep, and troubled water that threatens to destroy the Pax Americana and our liberal democracy
-
baghdesarianCharlatan CircusNo one cuts through the charlatan circus of Donald Trump better than David Frum. Powerful ideas well defined and defended. Honest debate.
-
XxyzzzyIt’s Congress’s faultGreat show, along with Frum’s appearance on the Bulwark. Only missing piece is that everyone including Frum is ignoring the responsibility of Congress to rein in Trump. We should not let Johnson get away without tying him very tightly to Trump’s actions. Yes, the judiciary is slow but Congress could stop it quickly and chooses not to. It is a choice. One that very few in this country have today. Their choice to let it happen means they’re just as responsible.

Hawley/DanforthHonestLiberal here, been a fan of David Frum since he wrote the endorsement for Hillary Clinton. I may not always agree 100 percent however, have found him intellectually open honest, always.

Prometheus---Great Pod CastDavid Frum is the most important anti-Tump intellectual on the planet. He has great foresight into MAGA’s and Trump’s future moves i.e., skate to where the puck is going to be. It’s all for naught though, since there are too many stupid fools on the planet. We aren’t going to stop Trump any more than the German’s could have stopped Hitler. That required the American Army. Note to self: Trump controls the US Army which is overweight with MAGAs. "The breakdown of social classes produced a second group, which Arendt called “the mob.” The mob was made up of the refuse of every class: disempowered aristocrats, disillusioned intellectuals, gangsters, denizens of the underworld. They were people who believed that the respectable world was a conspiracy to deny them what they were owed; they were embodiments of the politics of resentment. Arendt thought that the leadership of totalitarian movements came from this group. Mass man can achieve a “sense of having a place in the world only from his belonging to a movement, or from his membership in the party,” Arendt said. Totalitarian movements are simply “mass organizations of atomized, isolated individuals.” Louis Menand

MtnBikingGirl🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦Just listened to you and JVL. What a great discussion. All the reasons and rational for a global economy are so on point, tiny nickel screws to the folks that make the machines that make these tiny nickel screws. Most people do not recognize the micro industry’s that it requires to produce the smallest of the pieces that make the product. It’s like the story of the chicken that tilled the soil, that planted a garden to grow the corn, to make the flour to make the,,,Please keep speaking to the world about these issues that are so vitally important. Thank you.

alex_brinMedical Injury & Do No HarmPlease also talk about medical injury. When someone is injured, disabled or even killed, through a surgery gone wrong, a "mistake" or other prodound harms caused through medical injury, what happens when we are too damaged to sue? Why doesn't the system have built in safeguards to see what went wrong and at least correct it so as not to similarly harm others? Please address this! Thank you ~ Please medicine that remembers ~ the first rule is Do No Harm

T2869Smart & Interesting!David Frum is one of my favorite writers, thinkers & conversationalists. He brings interesting questions, knowledge & curiosity to every conversation. Much needed in these insane times!
-
Che BlockInvesting in AmericansToo late There has been the equal greed among republicans and democrats that got us to trump - see tax law changes from the 1970s see banking law changes under Clinton - See also the lies of Vietnam and Iraq wars and no one held responsible for the 2008 financial disaster either

Walt ThunderFriends like EnemiesGreat Job David! Excited for your new show! I’ll be joining every week!
-
Bigskymind49Drop what you are doing and listen to this podcast. The inaugural episode was characterized by a prophetically insightful commentary from Frum followed by a tell it exactly how it is interview with Rahm Emanuel. If subsequent episodes are even half as good as this one, it will continue to top my list of podcasts.

Hopeful MidwestenerBrilliant and incisive analysisDavid provides both a comprehensive and clear-eyed perspective on the current political moment, incorporating historical context and a dose of levity. It’s essential listening.

M D MillsGreat Show, Much NeededThanks for this. I always learn from David Frum. He often introduces perspectives that I don't hear from other analysts. He has a wide, factual understanding of many issues. Plus, he is courteous to those with whom he disagrees and upholds standards of civility throughout. As he said as a guest on another podcast, he had hoped to pare back his policy analysis work to pursue more personal goals for a while but is deferring that to later, considering the public turmoil these days. Thank you, Mr. Frum. We need your insights.
-
WrongSaint96A ThanksI would like to thank David for his commitment to American ideals over these past several years. Many years from now, when David's obituary is written, there may be a paragraph or two dedicated to the "Axis of Evil" speech he wrote. But if there is any justice in this world, there will be many more paragraphs dedicated to his tireless defense of liberal values during the Trump era.
-
Arcade pandaGreat start to a new showI thoroughly enjoyed the show; it is an excellent podcast.
-
CheevesTimely and timeless wisdomDavid’s understanding history is second-to-none. And while grounded in that reality, he offers positive answers to difficult issues with modesty and wit, not just doom-grousing.
-
Curmudgeon?Pocketcast availability?i’m looking forward to listening to this, but it would sure help if these were available on Pocketcasts, which is the platform I use 99% of the time. Thank you.
-
GGSANEObamaI don't see Obama or the Democrat party being a pro democracy organization. With all the censorship of conservative voices, the DOJ using resources to go after parents, free speech (Twitter files), pro lifers and DEI ( new racism) is what I would expect to see from say 1933 Germany. Was a subscriber up to 2016 when I saw the left swing.
-
Satya VidyaPlease stop interrupting your guestsI really enjoy this podcast but I do wish that Jeffrey Goldberg would step back a bit. Especially in the beginning of his interview with Chimamanda Adichie, he kept recentering himself as if to prove he’s clever or cool... and from my perspective it just came across as disrespectful to his guest. The dynamic changes for the better as the interview proceeds... but the beginning almost lost me.
-
Felix5001CursoryReally appreciate most of Atlantic pod casts. This one about Amazon was pretty thin.
-
suzygrayJonah GoldbergThe host, Goldberg, asks questions then interrupts guest, Goldberg, 7 times in the first 30 seconds. Why have a guest on to interview if Jeffery G. keeps blabbing on with one interruption after another? It would be nice to hear the guest complete a single thought before being diverted onto some other conversational, or three, avenue by a yacky host. Really annoying.
-
mrlukensIntelligent, fascinatingIntelligent interviews with a wide variety of fascinating guests. My only wish is that each interview were longer because I'm always sorry when they end.
-
a_pearce4I want to be Jeffrey GoldbergI love listening to this freaking podcast! I can binge interview podcasts all day and this one is most certainly one of my favorites and I cannot more strongly recommend it.
-
GrandmaRachAtlantic Interview with Chimimanda AdichieExcellent. Even the junk at the beginning was relevant to the later discussion of the distinction between African American and African experience, self-identity, feminism.
-
ReportThis505Good while it lasted...Jeffery Goldberg was great behind the mic. He may have interrupted the guest one or two times, but I don’t think that inhibited the power of the interviews at all. It’s unfortunately gone though. Hope it comes back...especially with Goldberg gone from Radio Atlantic.
-
~&LISTEN, stop interrupting guestsActive listening not just waiting for your turn to talk: it is a skill this interviewer could stand to acquire. Difficult to listen to because of all the interrupting and overtalking.
-
FGPMESadly DisappointedLike many others, I wanted to enjoy this podcast but found the host clueless about ways to discuss race. He interrupts often and makes it difficult for the interviewees to articulate their thoughts. Does not live up the standards one expects from The Atlantic. What a shame.
-
esther blodgetThe Atlantic InterviewJudging from reviews it sounds like the host is the new Charlie Rose. I won’t bother listening.
-
white gataInformative and entertainingLove this podcast. Learn something new every time. And it’s engaging.
-
PBinNejOne of the good onesIntelligent, respectful, insightful. What more can one ask for?
-
JlcodLooking forward to more episodesI think you may be introducing something new Can’t wait!

aef12345refreshingly authenticGreat conversations
-
kenathatchIntelligent & CurrentI love Jeffrey’s intelligent and thoughtful interviewing and the diversity of his guests. Love the current topics he brings as well. I highly recommend this podcast with just one star less for this reason; I didn’t vote for our current president but Jeffrey’s distain and dare I say borderline hatred of our current president is disheartening and it slips out in almost every interview. I believe we all must be the change we wish to see and as Madeline Albright alluded to - the us against them and polarization is dividing our nation. To disagree wholeheartedly absolutely but mocking disdain just makes it feel like it is sometimes bias interviewing and leading the guest. Four stars!
-
FukuokaJJeffrey Goldberg is awesomJeffrey Goldberg does a different kind of interview than others I listen to (Fresh Air, Diane Rehm, 1A, etc). He's funny in a very dry way and a bit snarky but cuts to the chase. I find his style quite refreshing and look forward to this podcast every week. I see some reviewers think he's disrespectful and inserts himself too much, or is arrogant. I really enjoy his style and I encourage him to keep being him, because I love it!
-
Nicknamesalltaken12345Smart, fast, funJeffrey G is a great talker. His interviews move along at a fast, engaging pace. When he interviews someone making the rounds on every other podcast/new soutlet, e.g., Madeleine Albright most recently, JG's interview is always the smartest, most interest and the most fun. Guest's respect for JG is obvious and engagement in the conversation really fun to listen to. One of my fav podcasts.
-
QuestioningPerfectionistOne of the greatest interviewers, but...Jeffrey Goldberg is really bright and knowledgeable. He’s also a sophisticated thinker. You can tell by his quick and incisive follow up questions that he thinks quickly. In short, he’s a great thinker and a highly skilled interviewer. But I notice that he throws softball questions to people on the left, sometimes just taking the left’s narrative as a given in his questions (e.g. Tracy Chou) and asking only slightly challenging questions, while constantly challenging and registering his disagreement with interviewers on the right (e.g. Mollie Hemingway). I’m glad he interviews people on the right though. Overall an enjoyable but imperfect podcast.
-
Gutie10010Great content, annoying hostI really enjoy hearing what the guests have to say, but I can’t stand how often and obnoxiously Jeffrey Goldberg tends to interrupt.
-
kgfreepersonGreat, but . . . .I really wish someone other than Jeffrey Goldberg were doing the interviews. It sounds as if he thinks he's cute and loveable and funny, but he sounds condescending and dismissive to me--especially when interviewing people of color and women. l really appreciate the interviews, but I wish he would listen to himself with a critical ear and cut the remarks he interjects (probably thinks he's being funny) which mostly sound like he's trying to distract or undercut whoever he's talking to. I end up thinking if I were interesting enough for him to interview, I'd end up slapping him. So I've just read a number of reviews that point out the same thing and clearly he's not interested. So, I guess I'll just have to take deep breaths and try not to grind my teeth.
