-
rickdossLeftistCouldn’t even get through one episode (the first) without getting lectured about how humans are evil and destroying the earth. Can you lefties have a good time that doesn’t include wishing death upon the entire human race?!

KGC768Storytelling LegendsMy favorite storytellers make these my favorite stories!
-
TulipheadtheBibliophileNext best thing to living in New EnglandAfter listening consistently for months now l have decided that unless you can sell all your possessions and pack up your plants and books and move to New England immediately, this podcast is the next best thing.

Marc p210Show reviewVery very interesting, just a cool as show.

mseizFascinatingNever dull, good stories, excellent details. Love the podcast; and I enjoyed the thanksgiving special. To comment on the "tomato broth with seafood" comment. I'm from New Orleans and my family makes a Creole style gumbo, with a tomato base- containing okra, oyster, crab meat, shrimp, etc! It is so delicious. Look it up😋
-
Lisa Anne 55Hermit episodeLove your story telling. Easy listening. There’s only one thing you should correct. John Smith died at the end of the 19th century,(1801-1900), not the 18th century. 😎
-
70bobbycraigLegendsJeff and Ray tell some awesome New England legends. Knowledgeable in history. Jeff is also one heck of a lecturer and researcher.

-
Marney ENew England LegendsLove this podcast! Loved episode 321 From the 9th hole to the moon! My mom was a child and was there when they unveiled the monument. Her dog ran up and peed on the monument right after they unveiled it. I grew up selling lemonade and golf balls on Pakachoag golf course.
-
james0980!New Englander by heartI enjoy your podcast so much! Learning about the history and legends of New England is something that have always loved. I don’t live in New England right now. But after my first visit to Boston and Salem years ago. I was hooked, it felt like I belonged there. Tracing my family roots back to Massachusetts and Connecticut in the 1600s.
-
chefjannesTop Notch StorytellingJeff and Ray give life and color to the historical oddities in New England! As a Southerner, I appreciate the tales from my northern friends. New England one of my favorite destinations and with many trips under my belt I’ve been able to visit a few of these legend locations!! Thank you guys! Great job
-
CheyxSavMy favorite and only thing I listen to on hereI started watching Jeff Belanger years ago on the New England Legends tv series. I've since followed him on social media and have seen him in various other shows and YouTube videos. As a person from New England and a lover of the strange, scary, and unusual, I think Jeff Belanger has been a great story teller on a lot of historical events that you may have heard of, and many you may not have. He is funny, witty, charming, friendly, smart, and is a pleasure to listen to.
-
Cherst1031Love New England Legends!Jeff and Ray are like old time radio show creators. They use sound effects and great story telling to keep the listener interested.
-
KathyGunnJeff makes this New Englander proud!Jeff has the most beautiful knack of telling our New England legends in a way that just rivets you. If you are a New Englander, like myself, or just a fan of great storytelling, you owe it to yourself to give Jeff a listen!
-
srt0914The best American folklore podParticularly for New England of course, but Jeff and Ray are the GOATS of their corner of the folklore world
-
Jeff RoydsLove a good history podcastYou’re never too old to learn about the history of where you live. so glad I stumbled across it, even happier to hear my old friend Ray. Great job.
-
FUTMobzWaiting for Inevitable ExpansionSurely there will come the day when you gents are going to have to take this show on the road and visit the myths and lore of nearby, non-NE states, say NY, or PA. If, for no other reason than the content. Either way, I’ll be along for the ride.
-
Dave091965ConnecticutI was born in Boston and now live in Ct and I LOVE your podcast. It is my absolute favorite now. Thanks for talking about some of my favorite places in New England.
-
must have nicknameTales of Legend and Dad Jokes! This is your scrapper podcast; it’s not as well known as say, Lore; however, these guys occupy their own little regional corner of the world of podcasting. Jeff is a natural storyteller, as we all know from his books on the paranormal. Ray is a radio. Naturally, both these gentlemen understand the intricacies of oral folk story traditions: their voices are have cadence and inflection. I love the banter and tangents they go on. I ask for more of that. Because from all that free flowing discourse comes some truly profound wisdom, and loads of dad jokes! I also enjoy the voice acting of John Legge, with his New England lilt. All in all: a humble podcast that emphasizes the importance of folk lore! Excellent work! I tip my cap to you gentlemen! Keep it coming! Shant Avakian
-
Ghoulena FelenaThe bestI’m in California but have loved these guys for years. Will follow them in all their endeavors. Genuine good guys.
-
sgtjdgelinasLove this showBeen one of my favorites for many years. Inspired me to start my own. Joe from tales, trails and taverns.
-
Cody heart💜I love this! One thing thoughI love this! One thing though, i love humor so maybe more of that? all of your jokes feel like they’re reading them off a piece of paper. (Which they might be.) but I feel like the jokes don’t sound genuine. But aside from that i love this!!
-
SophieDuvalGreat findSo happy to have found this podcast. A native to New Hampshire, im a sucker for New England stories, crimes and knowledge. Well put together, great narration, thank you both. Keep doing what you do!
-
psyctxAwesome!I love your podcast and the “After the Legends” portion is so entertaining! Keep it up. I’m learning things about New England I never knew having spent my whole life here.
-
Runner4953Absolutely love this podcast!!!Thanks for all the great stories!
-
andrewsenesiAmazing PodcastGreat podcast to listen to wether you’re a New England native or not. The amount of knowledge I’ve gained listening to this podcast is insane, and it’s even crazier that I drive by some of the places they talk about on the regular. Kudos to Jed and Ray!
-

johhny vGood Listen!I love listening to the show! I first heard him on a show he did in Hollis with my kids and we were hooked! I enjoy the history behind everything!
-
EmmafromAmericaBUILT DIFFERENTI listen to a lot of horror and lore podcasts. This one is truly different. Good use of sound, good commentary, good length, excellent variety of topics. Signing off, a Maine girl who is an active hater. 🫡
-
writergirl36The legend is true…this podcast delivers!Well researched, interesting stories, fun banter, all in about 20 minutes? Yes, please!
-
kevmurrayGreat podcast keep up the good workThese guys do a great job. My Favorite are the maritime legends.

player#987654321Return to the UFO abduction of Betty and BarneyI particularly liked the musical addition of The Ballard of Betty and Barney performed by Dante and the Bird Dogs.
-
Parrothead DadGreat show!Enjoy listening to this show and from the vault is a fun revisit. Thumbs up. Highly recommend this Podcast.
-
BuckeyebyBirthSo much fun!I found you late last year and binged every show to where I am now current. I very much enjoy your whit and how much fun you make the episodes. I’ve learned so much about NE and now want to visit even more!
-
Greybird17What happened to older episodes?Came across this podcast, and to explore it after hearing the most recent episodes went back to the very first episodes to explore the podcast. I found that I liked the earlier, briefer episodes more than the most recent ones plus it gave me so much more to explore! Now these episodes don’t seem to be available which is a shame because I was enjoying them very much. Make them available again and the rating would go up to 5 stars. Not so much into the present lengthier format where they just chat.
-
Not JonathonA Great Resource For Lesser Known StoriesA lot of paranormal podcasts rehash well known stories or rely on personal anecdotes from listeners; what makes New England Legends so unique is its commitment to chronicling all the esoteric and forgotten legends of years past. Jeff and Ray are not just storytellers; they’re historians, they’re you’re townie buddies, and most importantly, they’re real New Englanders.
-
Andrew.RenFun and historicalThe effort Jeff and Ray put into each episode make a fun & interesting podcast of Legend stories. They touch on facts and truths of the stories where they can and a bit of humor to bring it all together. 5 stars are not enough for this podcast!
-
AunteggieExcellent show! One of my top three favorite podcasts ever. AND my kids love it too. It’s clean, the episodes are short enough to hold small kids’ attention, interesting enough to hold grouchy teenagers’ attention, and you get the spooky and historical one-two punch! Highly recommend to anyone but especially if you have any New England connections!
-
Buddy Boy BostonAn Adventure in Every Episode! From Vermont’s North East Kingdom to the tip of Cape Cod, every episode is an adventure into the strange and bizarre aspects of New England. Ray Auger and Jeff Belanger take you with them to explore the grisly murders, ufo abductions, haunted houses, and bizarre legends that permeate all six New England states. They share their expertise and love of the unusual through vivid descriptions and witty banter. Every episode is packed with story and commentary, and none should be missed. And remember, the bizarre is closer than you think!
-
NicknameNotTakenJrCreepy and coolThis is my absolute favorite podcast! The legend topics are interesting, the history fascinating - and the stories well told. The sound effects and injections of humor elevate the already enjoyable storytelling. Jeff and Ray have great rapport. This podcast is addictive.
-
David AlbaughBest of the best! This is the only podcast that I listen to every week without fail. It’s entertaining and informative and Jeff and Ray have the perfect chemistry. Listening has also helped with traveling plans, checking out the very legends they talk about.
-
MisterBogBoyGreat Show and Great Folks!I’ve been listening since almost the beginning, and I look forward to it every week! Great if you’re local and great if you’re not!
-
Solitare_PaxGood stories, too many promotionsWhile there's plenty of good legends here, half the podcast seems to be filled with ads, self-referencing, and pointless banter to wade through.
-
Troubled sleeper.Always fabulous! Thanks guys!Enjoy EVERY episode and only eight they came every day 😍 The latest episode reminder me of the “Command and Control” incident that occurred in Damascus, Arkansas in 1980. “The end can be closer than you think!” 🤔I suppose I need to put together my apocalypse play list!
