    Doug is a pro
Doug is a pro journalist that doesn’t delve into gossip. He sticks to what he knows is true, so if you read it here, you know it’s fact. Who else has a full-time AU dedicated journalist? Thanks AJC

    My go to!
Doug does a great meat and potatoes coverage of Atlanta United with a much appreciated professional journalist objective approach. I appreciate that he therefore avoids hot takes while he delivers his original and evidence based perspective on the MLS side. Additionally, this is the only podcast really that encourages questions of any level. At times it becomes an educational session and that is much needed and appreciated for many of us who are new to soccer. Keep up the good work Doug!

    Excellent podcast
I’ve been listening regularly for a few years now and appreciate the many insights. I’m an AJC subscriber. Southern Fried Soccer, Politically Georgia and Bow Tie Chronicles now stand as my favorite AJC podcasts. Regards, Joe Sterling

    Best Atl Utd Podcast Period
Doug is the man! If you want the source material for all the other Atl Utd podcasts—you’ll hear the interviews and stats delivered here fresh with brief interruptions for coffee sips. This is sports journalism at its best!

    Was great. Now just ok.
Had to unsubscribe. Too much blaming the listener for not following on twitter and not subscribing to paper. We get it. Vertical integration. Cross promotion. But no need to berate listeners for asking reasonable questions, since that’s what they’re encouraged to do on the podcast.

    A little too pessimistic
I try to appreciate Doug’s reporting on Atlanta United. I think he himself is a great guy, however I feel his takeaway on Atlanta United is overly pessimistic and rarely hopeful even when easily warranted. It isn’t rare that he reports a stat worse than it actually is and sometimes I wonder if it possibly affects his ability to report on Atlanta United in a fair manner. Most recent misreporting our road record. I feel mistakes like this could most harm the opinions of more causal fans who don’t research stats themselves and won’t realize the team is actually doing better than what was reported.

    Great Soccer Podcast.
The AJC soccer podcast is very informative and Doug doesn’t pull punches. You may not always agree with his opinion. But you have to respect his opinion.

    Self-Righteous Drivel
Not sure when Doug convinced himself that he was God’s gift to soccer and reporting, but he’s become an insufferable, self-righteous, tool over the past couple of years. Snark over misspelled questions posed by tweet (seriously?) and listeners not reading his articles (News Flash: not everyone is/can be a subscriber, Dougie), and constant attempts to proclaim himself the Omniscient Oracle of Soccer when his knowledge of the sport is no better than that of anyone else who played high school soccer is tedious, at best. Doug started as an Atlanta United enthusiast with admittedly limited mastery of the sport, but since then he has apparently bought into — literally— his own press on himself and has devolved into a self-important boor who demeans his listeners, brags of illusory prowess, who thinks professionalism includes gulping coffee into a microphone and hurling schoolyard taunts throughout a 10 minute podcast after every game. Hard pass. Get over yourself, Doug.

    Best AU podcast out there!!
Doug does an excellent job recapping all the events of each game that AU plays as well as the major events of the team. While I may not always agree with his philosophies of the team, there is no one that covers the team more consistently or professionally as Doug. Highly recommended for any AU fans, new or old!!

    New Format
    Love the new Q&A format.

    Poor production and poorer chemistry
It seems like the usual co host (not Doug) is consistently disinterested and usually actively disrespectful towards Doug. He only thrives on disagreement and constantly shuts Doug down. His tone is also shockingly terse. I’m not sure why he’s ever on. Additionally, the production quality is poor quality. I question what exactly the purpose of this is podcast is, it seems like the hosts do not enjoy it.

Poor Production Quality and Lack of Thoughtful Analysis
Sorry, I love ATL Utd, but this is a poor podcast for the best club in the MLS. The sound quality is poor throughout and there is minimal analysis, just opinions without much to back them up. Please take some pointers from Brad Rowland, who has a great podcast for our Hawks!

    Too Cool
It’s just too cool having Doug as our soccer beat reporter for the AJC.👍👍👍

Lots of insight into the 5 stripes
I love watching my team play every week during the season, but one of the best parts after a win is anxiously waiting for Southern Fried Soccer to post. Doug’s insight and opinions about the team are always appreciated and honest. I especially love listening to his opinions about the National team. Since I’m a Bradley hater too haha. Great pod, keep up the good work and Happy Belated B Day.

    Excellent podcast
I love in in-depth coverage of all things Atlanta United. Perfect post match coverage/discussion.

    Best soccer blog.
I listen to several Soccer blogs and I really think this is head and shoulders above the rest. These two combine for a professional and objective review of the ATL games. Both are extremely knowledgeable and provide well argued, articulate descriptions of the events. No nonsense, non-contentious Soccer for grown-ups.
