    Best true crime podcast
This is my favorite true crime podcast! The amount of research Kay puts in really makes you feel like you are in the story. John and Kay are great! 100%😬

    Love the podcast
Going back to episode 24 I don’t think the spider bite is that far fetched I got bit when I was 17 and had a reaction to it and it wasn’t a poisonous spider but my arm swelled up so bad

    Love it!
    Such a great show

    Facts are often wrong
I’m starting to notice that some information that Kay is relaying in these episodes are wrong. For example, in the Richard Carno episode It stated that there is a total of five children in the household. Kay case says that each person brought one child into the marriage and then they went on to have three children. She then goes on and on about how expensive childcare was for three small children. This is completely false. There were a total of three children. Richard had one biological son from her previous relationship. Susanne had one biological daughter from a previous relationship. Then Richard and Susanne adopted one baby boy the year before the murder. This was confirmed in Richard’s obituary and the newspaper articles from the time of the murder and sentencing. I don’t think she does any real research. It seems like she may only be watching crime shows that twist the facts.

    My go-to crime podcast!
My husband and love this podcast!! It’s our go-to on road trips and when doing chores. I appreciate how much research Kay does and her story telling approach. Some podcasts with two people don’t have the best banter (clearly planned out responses) but John and Kay flow so well and John’s responses are genuine because it’s his first time hearing the case. I will say- we chuckle with the occasional editing mistakes. Happens to everyone. Keep up the good work!

    Kay is amazing
Kay’s research and storytelling is great. I just can’t handle John jumping in and mansplaining what she’s just said. And the comments like “We need to find out who did this to find the killer”….thank you John, great input. I like Kay but I can’t do it anymore 🫣

    Friends
I’ll admit, I wasn’t expecting much from this podcast—or any podcast hosted by a couple. More often than not, the chemistry just isn’t there, and it ends up feeling forced. But this podcast completely proved me wrong. The hosts are not only charismatic but genuinely enjoyable to listen to. They present each story concisely and factually while weaving in just the right amount of personal anecdotes. It feels less like a typical true crime podcast and more like sitting with friends who happen to be great storytellers with great chemistry. I’m hooked! Congratulations on your baby girl.

    Great podcast
Really enjoying the research, the story telling and the banter - John and Kay play off each other very well - and love John’s responses!

    Could be better.
She stumbles through, reading with pauses and ums. The same sentence is often repeated without editing the mistaken one. Very poor editing. I listen when I’m caught up on other podcasts. They do cases I haven’t heard before and I like the format of hearing someone else listening and trying to figure it out. They seem like nice people, I wish I could rate this higher.

    My favorite true crime couple💖
I really enjoy Kay and John they seem like they could be my neighbors they are down to earth and fun to listen to. Extra kudos to Kay for being an educator☀️

    Quality podcast
I love this couple’s dynamic and how thoroughly they present each case. This is one of my go to podcasts and I always look forward to new episodes.

    Unique cases
I’m so glad I discovered this pod. I’ve listened to a LOT of true crime podcasts, and I find that these guys find cases that I’ve never heard about, which constantly surprises me. I like the flow, the reactions, the details. It feels natural and is easy to listen to. And I like how long and in-depth they are.
  • Hotrod&dolce
    I really like them!
Very thorough. I’m into it and will keep listening. Please do a deep dive on Ellen Greenberg and would love your thoughts on Karen Read.

Love the podcast. Wondering if John can contribute in a different way than he does currently.

    Good pacing
Just randomly found this while searching about another case and listened to the Olathe episode. I love your pacing. It was easy to follow along even with small distractions while at work. Look forward to hearing more! (My bff was born in KS the day before the Duffield crimes)

I listened to the 911 call right after you brought it up. It wasn’t the best audio, but I DEF heard what you heard…not what they say he said. Working my way through all the old eps, and loving every minute! Congrats on the bébé as well!!

I just recently discovered TCC, and I. Can’t. Stop. Listening. Great show, I love how K tells the stories and I love that John goes in blind! I feel like we are friends chatting about murder. One of the best true crime podcasts out there

    Elite
One of the best TC podcasts out there, ever. Incredibly well-researched, well-written, & well-delivered. I wish they’d get the recognition they deserve. I’ve been listening for years and find myself comparing to their content every time I hear a case retold by another podcast.

    THANK YOU
Kay and John, I have listened to you both for over a year now, and felt moved today to write a review. I love your story telling, and I relish in listening to John get better and better at deciphering the case with each new episode. Moreover, I think it’s adorable how Kay seems genuinely excited and surprised each time John figures it out. Listening to you share about the last year, between your shared weight loss (congratulations!), and surgeries, something you said resonated deeply within me. I have suffered with a female problem being a primary care provider myself (which is only relevant because knowledge doesn’t take away uncertainty), along with the fear of making big and scary decisions on how to move forward. Hearing about how your, and I’m certain John’s, incredible courage led you to move forward with these decisions, along with advocating for yourself, and now having the blessing of being able to conceive your baby girl, I feel a little less alone on my own journey. I honestly felt like crying on my walk when you shared. Thank you for doing that. It’s your story and you didn’t have to share, but you did, and if it did that for me, I can only imagine how you’ve affected so many of the other women who share similar health struggles. God bless you both through your pregnancy and continued journey together!

    THE BEST!
I usually don’t leave reviews on anything even when I really like it. I’m not sure why I guess I just don’t think about it. But I have to leave one for you guys. I have just discovered you and I am hooked and don’t listen to any others anymore. There are a lot of true crime podcast that are good but girls podcast I can’t get enough of! I absolutely love the fact that your husband and wife doing this together and you’re all’s personality is infectious. I just have to say I drive for my job. I’m in the car a lot so I listen to you all the time and I will be honest when I say that I am treated like scum at my job so mentally every day I’m in a bad headspace when at work And since discovering your podcast, it makes me feel so much better and I can escape from the way, I’m treated at work and I thank you guys for that! Sorry this is so long but I needed to let you guys know (I’m sure you do) that you’re both amazing! Thank you for doing this podcast! Love you guys!

So happy I found you guys!
So found you guys about a year ago and have been binging your podcast since. I’m all caught up. At the beginning was rough with the sound, but really liked how you told a story. I am now a loyal listener. Keep up the great work! You both rock 💗

    Episode 194
Thank you for this episode. I was just telling my family. Do you all remember the little girl who disappeared when we were in elementary school? This happened in my hometown and to hear the story just brought back so many memories and we’ve been trying to remember this little girl’s name.
  • cmdm
    congrats!
on becoming parents…i really enjoy the format of your show…not that you asked, but as the parent of a boy and a girl, may i suggest that you are careful how your praise your child (and others)…i’ve notice that ppl will comment on my daughters looks but when commenting on my son, they’ll say how strong and smart he is…i think you’re going to be loving parents for lots of reasons, but mostly cuz your child is WANTED!
  • Uncle Gonzo
    The best
By far my favorite true crime podcast. Kay is a natural storyteller. She has a way of writing the episodes that creates mystery about who done it. I enjoy that John doesn’t know anything about the cases, because I get to join him in his journey as we try to solve the case. Kay and John have a great chemistry together, and I bet it would be great to be their friends in real life.
  • Ellen0779
    My Favorite Podcast!
John and Kay are amazing! They make you feel like you’re sitting right with them! So many true crime stories I’ve never heard, I love it! They are so cute, and add some laughs, but most of all the research is spot on. Thank you for spending your precious time with us, to bring us great true crime stories!!
  • CincodeMayo Bride
    Love this pod!
I love how you cover lesser known cases. They’re always mind blowing with a twist. John’s commentary is almost always what I’m actually thinking. He always has a fun fact or a piece of knowledge that helps the case. So glad I found this pod!
  • Jennmichmor06
Can we be real life friends? 😂
I seriously love yall. Kay, your research and care you put into these cases really shines through in your telling of the story. Such compassion. I love that John listens with us so we can all react together. His “red flags” and “question marks” are hilarious sometimes. And while yall do get a little sidetracked at times, it’s very rare. That’s the hardest part about finding a true crime podcast you’re really into, because a lot of the others get so far off topic, you forget where the story even was. lol. Also, if yall do read these, pleaseeeee go to the Roy Melanson case right around the 1 hour in mark where yall are talking about rewatching Stranger Things and Kay chimes in and Johns just like, “yeah, but anyway” 🤣. I literally LOL’d. So savage.
  • feefingirl
    In-depth and respectful of victims
Kay does her homework and offers a lot of detail that other podcasts don’t. She also gives lots of care and attention to the victims and their families in her accounting of these stories. I enjoy her storytelling and although sometimes I want John to stop theorizing so Kay can just get on with the story (lol sorry I still love you John), it’s fun to hear him react as he is listening to it for the first time like the rest of us. Oh, and congrats on the baby!!
  • skullymomma
    Great Podcast
Listening to Kay tell the story and waiting for Johns reactions is very entertaining. They are engaging and treat the victims with respect. Kay is a really good story teller. I especially love when John get fired up over injustices that may have happened. The Lisl Auman case is a particularly good case for this. If you’re looking for a true crime podcast give them a try you won’t be disappointed.

Check it out! Crime Drama at its best
I am a big fan of Crime Drama and have a few favorites. Thanks to Apple’s algorithm this podcast was suggested, and it has been added to my FAVORITES!!! * The cases are riveting and varied * The storytelling style is well written and narrated perfectly by this couple. * There a few podcasts in which I have to Fast Forward just to get past stories of the moderators dog, vacation and other topics I’m not interested in. This podcast gets into the story immediately. * The balance between sticking to the story and also sharing a little about themselves makes listening inviting and friendly. Signed, My new favorite binge in the Sierras

    Ugh.
The editing is horrible - listen before you post/publish. The husband should limit the inane comments.

Love but the ads are jarring
This is one of my favorite podcasts but the ads are SO loud. It’s like a jump scare when they come on. I’ll queue up like 15 hours of episodes while I sleep, but I can’t anymore. The ads are too loud and wake me up.

    Favorite Podcast
I absolutely LOVE this podcast! Kay does such in depth research on each case and does such a great job telling the stories of the victims. John is just fun to listen to. He gets super involved in the story and I love listening to how interested he is in the lives of the victims and where he thinks the case is going. There is very little banter if any between each other that doesn’t involve the case. There’s no 20 minute conversation between them before they start the telling of the case, they just get right into it. Which I really appreciate. It is very obvious how important it is to them to provide an excellent podcast that caters to all of their listeners needs. I’ve been binge listening to this podcast since I’ve discovered it a couple of weeks ago.
