Helpful guide in understand in Sikhism w/in Western Kundalini Yoga movement
I was initially drawn to kundalini yoga (KY) (in the U.S.) by simply “trying out” a new form of yoga I’d heard about. I had several profound spiritual experiences, and decided to look further into it. I specifically like the spiritual aspect to this yoga practice. Long story short, I found out about the controversy surrounding Yogi Bhajan (YB) who brought KY to the West, combining his own Sikh background with yoga. I was totally disillusioned and dropped the practice. Several years gone by now, I’ve come back to this practice since there are now teachers offering guidance in this practice without YB’s influence. A large part of this Western type of KY still includes Sikh meditations & mantras however, and I have so wanted a new way to understand this sacred tradition totally apart from YB’s influence. I have found that here with Nanak Naam. I find the subjects discussed really resonate with me and I appreciate that this wisdom is it for everyone. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

    Fabulous.
I listen to a lot of podcasts and have practiced various forms of meditation for 25 years, including vipassana and Gaudiya mantra meditation. The theology and philosophy of life laid out in this series is profound and life affirming. This presentation is first-class and will enhance your life regardless of your background.

Mother sent it to me . Bob marley said it better.
Love the message ( of course ) but the delivery is really really off putting. It reminds me of all those years I was reluctant to learn punjabi cause all I could hear was a dude yelling at a sangat into a microphone. 🤷🏽‍♀️ There really HAS to be a better way to deliver gurbani. It irks me to no end how the tonality of arrogance is so prolific in this realm of ppl studying the ‘knowledge’ , AND how assuming they are with their generalizations for analogies. Skip it dude, just stick with the word . We cannot seem to escape a culture of misogynistic behaviors even in the light of such a revealing path.
