    A Great Service
I listen to a lot of Radio programs from the 40’s and 50’s. Frankly it is the best era of mass entertainment that our country and even the world has known. “Stars own Suspense” does the best job of any I have heard in bringing this era to life. The information provided by the host and the radio plays themselves are great entertainment and they beat out most of the trash that is being broadcast today.

    Best host
What a great job you do. Never the same without the intros!

    Favorite podcast
I have been listening since the first year of the podcast, and along with your Mean Streets show are my favorite commuting companions. Your intros are informative and add to my appreciation for the shows. Thank you for continuing what is clearly a passion project!

    Host adds so much!
Really missing the intros—hope your voice recovers soon!
  • Michael Paul Smith
    Perfect
The episodes are lovingly curated, set up well (listen to the intros for context!), and then left alone, commercials and all. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Love how this podcast is organized
My favorite aspect of OTR is imagining my favorite movie stars on the radio, in roles they played on screen or roles I *wish* they’d played. I was listening to Suspense eps on free apps one after the other. So the way this podcast is set up with 2 shows featuring one star is perfect for me! Dates are included and the host’s intros are fun and informative. And the sound quality is excellent! Thanks so much!

    Suspense is great, but…
The host is insufferable, I can’t remember hearing someone love their own voice so much without any merit. Dude just drones on and on.

Too many spoilers and too much jazz.
I generally really enjoy the actual shows and I'm grateful to the podcast maker for creating this podcast, but due to the above, I find that I fast forward until the show begins. Perhaps this could be resolved by speaking after the show, and also dropping the music, please. Thanks for good content.

    Great OTR
I am hooked on OTR and Suspense is one of my favorite shows. I appreciate the narrator’s intros to each show. Suspense featured many big stars in its day and it is great to be able to hear them all.

    Top Tier Quality!
Amazing host and highly curated shows with excellent audio fidelity. Not your run of the mill OTR podcast.

    Great “Suspense” selections
Best sound quality of any old time radio program Podcasts I’ve listened to and I love the introduction of the radio actors and their mini biographies. Outstanding.

    A veritable..✨
...Gold mine of bedtime stories. These are Hollywood’s brightest stars of their time; with superb acting, direction and production. OTR, and this podcast in particular, has helped me for years get through intractable insomnia. 🌛

    Autolite spark plugs
Polished presentation and excellent sound quality. I started listening to Suspense through an app a while back, couldn’t get enough, but so many episodes were damaged and staticky. Everything on this podcast is so clear, and it’s fun to get a little background on the stars.

    Fantastic show with insightful host.
    Marvelous podcast!

    Especially well done
While the star of the show is always the original broadcast, too many of these podcasts ruin that with the “additional narrative.” This is the exception. The narrative is well written and well spoken and thus adds to the program instead of detracting from it. Congrats! Well deserving of five stars!

    Just the best!!!!
I’ve always loved old time radio, and my favorite program has always been suspense; but I only ever had limited access to certain episodes and only ever was able to hear two stars, Vincent Price and Bette Davis. I hoarded their episodes for years, destroyed the cds that I saved them on listening over and over and I dreamed of finding more suspense shows to enjoy. And low and behold, the universe heard me and here is this wonderful podcast! This is an absolute joy ! I work from home and am able to work whenever I like, so I’ve had many lovely afternoons spent binge listening to this show during my coffee and rest breaks. I’ve only been listening for about a month now but I hope this show continues on for years to come! This is marvelous! Bless you for this podcast. And thank you for making my dreams come true! Vive Le Suspense!

  • Ghoulem
Amazing podcast with superior sound quality!
Great theme to shows and a lot of information about the stars & episodes. The sound quality of these episodes is superior to 99% of all other OTR podcasts! His other podcast named “Down These Mean Streets” is an OTR detective series and delivers the same high quality! There is no comparison, these podcasts are the best!

A fabulous podcast for fans of Old Time Radio
"Stars on Suspense" is one of the best podcasts available on iTunes. Each week the host offers two episodes (sometimes more) of the Old Time Radio program "Suspense." "Suspense" often had major Hollywood stars as cast members. The radio plays are of a consistent high quality with respect to the storyline and the acting. The host provides insight into the careers of the actors and often the authors. You will be informed as well as entertained.

    Old Time Radio
Great Old Time Radio programs. Always interesting to hear what was happening in the world in the Golden Days of Radio.
  • David Gallaher
    Outstanding
One of the most robust and curated Old Time Radio programs currently operating. Each episode delivers two classic episodes, usually pivoted around a specific radio star -- Jack Benny, Danny Kaye, or Anne Baxter, for instance. Beyond the outstanding performances, the host has an encylopedic knowledge of Old Time Radio, making each episode a joy to listen to.
  • awesomeness0232
Never fails to keep me in...
SUSPENSE! Seriously though, this show was recommended on the Attaboy Clarence podcast, another which focuses on classic radio and movies. Suspense is the most famous and exciting of the classic radio serials, and I love the focus on the old movie stars here.
  • Maythen21
    Love this Podcast
The best of the best. Fans of horror and suspense podcasts this one is for you. Clean clear audio. Truly the cream of the crop. The acting is top notch, not just from the Star but from equally stellar supporting casts. Every episode delivers two great stories, you're unlikely to have heard before. Highly reccomended.
