ThatdarnjennThe show that nurtures CURIOSITYWhat differentiates this show from the other show of a similar name is that the other show discusses facts they are interesting, but often useless. Just fun things to know. However, Mike consistently and frequently discusses topics that are PRACTICAL and USEFUL for your everyday life. I love both styles. I love learning new things, but I am also the kind of person that likes to know things that will help me be a better person and to live a better life. This is a show everyone can benefit from if you’re inclined to reach for something better in your life. This is a show for curious minds, and THAT is something you should know.

TheOneKing77Informative podcastI have been listening to this podcast for about two years now. Many episodes are quite informative. I find my next audiobook from podcast guest speakers. I also like that Mike asks good insightful questions and his voice is so pleasant to listen to. I wish listeners could also ask questions. Maybe there could be some kind of a preview of upcoming guest speakers and listeners could submit their questions? Just an idea…

NeneNonisInteresting Bite Size InfoEven when I think the topic will be dull, I end up learning in a light & enjoyable way.

HiKaLuuLove this oneGreat podcast that makes you think. I have actually read some books that were recommended by this show. I love the little tidbits/facts he provides at the beginning and end of the show too. A must listen. 🙂

Regular Listener 99Great Podcast!I was introduced to this show during the pandemic and have been a faithful listener ever since. Mike does a great interview. No softballs or traps for his guests. He respectfully challenges them while exploring their views. It is one of my “go-to” podcasts.

Donn12345One of my favoritesI’ve listened to this podcast since before it was a podcast and a short spot on my local radio station. I’m pretty sure this is the original and not ripping off the other similar podcast that is not as professionally produced. My only complaint is the number of commercials from the same company - no I am retired and DON’T need Indeed! I know Michael usually stays away from promoting supplements so I was surprised to hear one on a recent show. Please don’t start that. I appreciate that usually the show avoids politics which is very refreshing to me. Overall I highly recommend this podcast.

The only One 001Really worthwhileGreat Podcast. Mike brings in great researchers and speakers. I love the way he asks questions so that I can understand what to take away from the conversation. I am intrigued to listen to every episode. Thanks a lot Mike! I appreciate your wonderful podcast

jefferson1My favorite podcastSo informative, my favorite listen!

SnoopyWatchGreat topics but keep it realThe topics on this podcast are great and covered quite well during the discussion. However, the host sounds like he’s reading a script for a commercial for toothpaste. One of the great things about podcasts is most people speak how they would normally speak in conversation. This seems very rehearsed., deliberate and just faux.

Esteban K.Makes my dayI enjoy this podcast so much. So many hidden gems. So often I say to myself I’m so glad I listened to this today! Mike Carruthers voice and way he speaks is wonderful and really pleasant. But more importantly he asks great informed questions that really add to the presenter’s topic. Just love it.
-
wanpmcGood PodcastI generally enjoy SYSK. Mike is so very pleasant to listen to and most of the time the info is useful. Just have to say I’m so tired of people misrepresenting the change in Roe vs Wade. The decision simply sent authority back to each state. The Gestapo did not ban abortion.

A. L'isnerOptimismGenerally enjoy the podcast but when a guest relates an individual who promotes the great replacement theory as an optimist - that seems obviously contradictory and removes some credibility.
-
ElizaCostLove listening and learningThis podcast about optimism was interesting, but a cild norm into wealth and prestige as did Elon Musk, is radically going to have differing self and world views of optimism than a child born and raised in squalor or war time or just being born a working class person in America, where opportunity today is limited. Economics still colors optimism or its lack thereof. Thanks! Elizabeth

Allyswann2017Informative & EntertainingWhat a pleasant way to learn all kinds of obscure and practical information! Love the flow, combination of guests, and random information. Narrator with soothing voice.
-
Siddu24Great ShowEvery episode I learn so much that is very helpful and is presented in easy to follow.
-
joyfulfitnessctEntertaining, Educational, Easy listeningThis podcast got me through many long walks in 2024. Mike has a great approach and energy in all of his interviews, he asks Everyman questions with sophistication. I was rarely uninterested in any of his guests, which must be really hard to curate for a show that posts so frequently. The knowledge shared makes you feel empowered and curious. Thanks SySK!
-
ValleygmaSYSKThis is a terrific podcast! I listens to all kinds of different ones on varied subjects and this is a favorite. I never miss it- be sure to catch every new episode as Mike always shares something you should know!

qh usingThe science of CANNABISOverall this podcast is informative and interesting but the cannabis episode where the guest you interviewed corrected the misleading use of the word marijuana and yet you incorrectly kept referring to the substance. That is something you should have learned.
-
southwesr texasWonderfulI love this podcast. I’ve learned a lot

Obviously Not ImpressedMostly him pushing affiliate links. Topics are nonsense, bordering misinformationI know a lot of content these days are driven by individuals trying to make money, but this is ridiculous. He brings on guests with no substance who spews garbage. All so he can shove as many ads as possible to manipulate people into buying so that he can profit. Although I’d point out those ads hold more value than what I heard from his most recent episode about pain & pleasure. I couldn’t take it anymore. I’m disappointed after reading the reviews about this show and a rating of 4.5. I wish I could get that time back, but maybe this review will help others to not waste their time.
-
Sm1212smYou took “SYSK” from stuff you should know podcast!I don’t understand how you could rip off my favorite all time podcast.

Michael✌️.My reviewThis is the best podcast (I’m very big on podcasts)

A fan of your masterpiecesBest podcast I’ve ever seenI really enjoy listening to your releases. This is what a curious mind needs to pursue on a daily basis.
-
Brad EkegrenGetting worse (pseudoscience)Used to love this show, but lately he’s been bringing a lot of quacks and conspiracy theorists on. He had Tim Spector (the pseudoscience promoter) say that counting calories does not work🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. You have to be pretty stupid to not believe in the law of thermodynamics. Also, conspiracy theory views of the medical industry don’t help.
-
Michigan appleFascinatingI’ve learned so many things on here! Thank you for pursuing such topics. I’ve also gotten ideas of books I can get from the library for further reading. I’m a disabled 65 year old and love the stimulation on so many levels!
-
fmf55Great podcast!I love walking with your often updated podcasts. The guests provide information from their research or books that isn’t just “liberal” or mainstream news popular opinion.
-
mituska2Adding to my lifeI listen to something you should know because there are interesting guests and helpful information from the host. There is something in every episode that I either did not know before or that expands my knowledge of it. And, Mike, I am still hooked on listening to Something You Should Know!
-
chris*#$@InformativeLove this show and I learn something each episode.
-
katlat 66Fun learningI love the questions that Mike asks and the variety of topics keeps this interesting. It painless learning! Keep it up and thank you!
-
melissarochellStop with the “You might also like” episodes pleaseGreat podcast. Been listening for years, BUT it’s resulted in getting spam in my podcast feed by regularly throwing in full episodes of other podcasts. Your content speaks for itself. Don’t be greedy with the marketing.
-
TeriLou23Great Topics, Fantastic Questions, A FavoriteA podcast worth a multiple day binge, for weeks. Easy to listen to, great topics and interesting guests. Truly enjoy.
-
Andante'Excellent PodcastMusic… I don’t agree with that "10%" of people dislike music. It’s like saying those people dislike sound. Sounds and Music is intertwined. Excellent show. Thank You Very Much DDH Having a Sense of Belonging is Very Important.!!!!!!! People who believe that they are Extroverts or Introverts based on the Myers-Briggs Personality Test using the + and - isn’t particularly useful. How introverted is that person or how extroverted is that person etc??? There’s different levels of personality traits etc. I’m sure you know that. Thank you
-
GoodtomoveNever a waste of timeUseful practical enjoyable, this guy is a total pro!
-
Lord*tyrionIncomparableMike, you are the best podcast host of all time! Your manner of questioning and the way you steer the conversation with your guests is just phenomenal! You are the best interviewer ever!
-
jamesbond777Useful knowledgeConcise, truthful, knowledgeable, useful!!!

Does my opinion finally countLOVE THIS PODCAST!!!I really enjoy how Mike brings the common sense questions to his guests that I was also wondering. He probes where it needs to be probed. Thanks for that. Also his show has an excellent variety of subjects, even within the same episodes. Some podcasts I can’t wait until they have been finished, because they are extremely long, not his. These are just the right length and contain the right interesting content to keep my attention. Keep up the great work.
-
Fred$-)Great interviews and lots of interesting information…I subscribe to other podcasts similar to Mike’s and I often find that the same guess are interviewed. Then I have moments of déjà vu. One thing I’ve learned over the years of listening to Mike, he sounds like a huge “germaphobe”.
-
Tag32Great interviews plus you learn somethingI enjoy how when he interviews people, and he asks questions that I’m wondering about. He applies it to his life, and makes the info be more easily digested. Light topics but interesting.
-
Anthony BenjaminTalmudic SlopI’ve never come across a wellness podcast that goes so far out of its way to attack Christianity. These attacks are completely unrelated and in bad taste! How can I trust you with my health if you attack our faith!!??
-
Victoria La Habra HeightsExcellent and informativeReally enjoyed this episode excellent and informative. Michael Carruthers is such a good host.

May AvenueYour interviews…..Nobody does it better…..🎼 Thank you!

Squires JohnsonInformative showI listen to this show all of the time and definitely find it very interesting and informative.
-
GetOutside23First time listenerJust tried listening for the first time and couldn’t make it past the half-way point. The way the host rudely talked over/at and dismissed the guest on the Good Friends episode that came out 2 days ago was off-putting and there were multiple sound editing errors. Seems like you have a lot of cool topics, but I won’t be listening again.
-
SAV 74Sad mentionEnjoyed this podcast, but was disappointed to hear forcing crickets to fight for entertainment or money this week. That made me both embarrassed and sad for society. Don’t include the casual reference to the abuse of a living creature or point out that it is not moral.
