ersmedExcellent content,I only found the show this summer and I’m working my way through the back catalogue, but I find it very well done. If you’re the type of person who has several philosophy podcast in your regular feed, this should be one of them.

Eamon ParkerLayman’s educationAs an engineering and design major in college, I did not recieve a comprehensive humanities education. This podcast goes beyond philosophy writings and connects the old and new, the existential with the real.

elise !!!Can’t listen to anything elseA bit addicted to this podcast. I can barely even listen to music anymore, every time I turn it on I go “hmmm maybe I should listen to the panpsycast instead.” The pod goes into lots of detail without being confusing or too academic about things. You don’t really need any background knowledge on philosophy, they give you the basics and build up from there, always ending with a pretty complete overview of the topic. Love the banter too <3

ExelixiiPhilosophical discussion at its finestIf you like exploring questions that have no answers, this one is a must.

Mr. BowndsWhy isn’t this more popular?!So I started with the Nietzsche episode after the first like 30 seconds (a sort of intro to the topic) I was hesitant, bored perhaps. Suddenly, Jack introduced himself and his co-hosts in a unique and comical manner that had me hooked. The use of levity continued as they spent a few episodes explaining Nietzsche’s philosophy and I thought this Nietzsche guy was pretty compelling. Then in the final episode of further analysis their criticism was insightful and well, critical. All of sudden Nietzsche didn’t seem so hot. When they were able to unpack the ideas trying to look from the author’s perspective and make them seem great while not agreeing with them; then unpack the ideas of some of his critics from this entirely different perspective: Well, that’s when I knew this was the podcast for me.

name47474739293GarbageMost annoying brits one has ever had the displeasure of listening to. Just pure garbage. I’m sorry, but not really. You clowns are way too smug sounding and your songs/“melodic” trash you call music and or singing.. my god, I’m embarrassed for you. Also, if we ever met in real life, I would slap the crap out every one of you, and neither of you would do a thing. That’s the instinct that comes over me when I hear your collectively low testosterones voices and girly chatter and giggles. Clowns.

ChristopherJGInspiring wonder and insightI’m enjoying these well produced discussions tremendously. Giving me insights and new ideas relevant to my life and my ongoing fascination with philosophy. I listen to them in the car while stuck in LA traffic. Which makes the slog actually fun and interesting.

BewatChatter chatterAnother podcast where the hosts seem to think that they are more interesting than the subject matter. These guys prattle on, joking and laughing saying they haven’t read this or that. I just don’t get it. This of course is the way podcasts are and this is another one like that.

watchthethronemehBest when it’s philosophyThe crew makes really fun content. They take some truly tricky material and find ways to either make it accessible for those seeking an entrance point into philosophy and/or present it in an entertaining way for those who are familiar. When the podcast delves into contemporary politics or more wider sociological matters it dilutes the mission of the show. It can also feel sometimes as if the podcasters are worried that you may not think them sufficiently woke and they do their best to reassure you. A search for Truth would seemingly be best when the truth you are seeking in unpredicated. The angle here is that it is as open as possible while reassuring you that the right political outcomes will be arrived at. However, I think it is a generally fantastic podcast and would still recommend it.

thispodisbadNot really worth listening toThis show is okay, and some of the interviews are also okay, but after completing this five part of Dostoyevsky I can safely say that these are not people worth listening to analyze or discuss a text.

jessielee22EverydayMy every morning and every evening and also in the car. Great conversation, never boring. Witty, smart, humble.

obacker19Empowering, insightful and illuminating! 🙌Whether you’re well versed in navigating social and cultural norms in our ever changing world, or just getting started making sense of your own reality - this is a must-listen podcast for you! Jack and the entire Panpsycast team do an incredible job leading conversations that cover a huge breadth of topics related to the ins and outs of living a life you can be proud of - from leaders who’ve actually walked the path. Highly recommend listening and subscribing!

philosopher to law professorFabulous refresherAbout 30 years removed from getting my BA in philosophy. There are great refreshers, both sophisticated and easily accessible. I’m supposed to know this stuff, but 30 years is a long time. I remember Mark relying on Hagel, and even that he got the dialectic from Hagel, but I couldn’t explain what that meant anymore. Now I can.

Darth_pcnesseNeat-cha!What a lovely podcast! I needed to do research on Kierkegaard and Nietzsche for a presentation in my philosophy class, and these chaps provided just what I needed. These gentleman do a great job at making their podcast informative with a playful and fun approach. I am now a subscribed listener and can’t wait to hear more. Cheers!

Kevvvykevvv06Robert “Right”— R.W. Should take the flattery at face value?Jack and Co. were the first of several to successfully sell me on getting the book—audiobook, hence “Jack” and co. As soon as the interview was finishing and the book praised, and the narration vouchsafed, I went straight to audible and spent my night on credit on Why Buddhism is True! No podcast engages me with every single episode, but I’ve listened to all of the episodes starting when the Panpsychast was just a babe, and they have done a superb job of informing and entertaining. I like the watching them expand over time, getting great interviewees while always maintaining the conversational, layperson’s coequal tone no matter how prestigious the guest. I think that is the special sauce for the panpsychast—it’s always very human, to he common everyday sort of human vibe

AfellowlistenerLovely TalksI’ve been looking for philosophy podcasts for ages, but none of them hooked me. Somehow they turned my favorite subject into something dry and unrelatable: this podcast is anything but that. The hosts are funny, nice, and great teachers (often employing hypotheticals to help listeners understand). I’m really excited to hear every episode! Thank you for making these; they add a lot of value to my days :)

phil majorAwesome!!Entertaining and informative!! I wish I could be there to discuss with them :)

J1mb0SInformative and EntertainingIf you are interested in learning philosophy, I really like the blend of info and fun from Jack, Oly, and Andy. I've blown through their episodes like crazy the last week, and I really like the hosts. Their chemistry is great and you will wish you were there with them. Their early episodes could use some more preparation and editing. But still well worth a listen.

Nova4671Philosophy wow!Great for getting a foundation. Accessible and fun, occasionally taking a bit of a deeper dive. Really great show!

ClevercletusQuite comprehensive and fairly unbiassedI have felt for a while that philosophy is a weak area in my knowledge and worldview. I set out to find a podcast that could give me a broad introduction to the field. This podcast has given me that with great success. The content and delivery is informative as well as enternaining. An effective combination that keeps listeners coming back as well as having something worth coming back to. I've quite enjoyed listening to the discourse of three people with fundamentally different views from mine. I feel they well represent what it looks like to respectfully approach a contrary viewpoint. Many thanks from Kyle in Minneapolis, MN.

rkslperezMore than just pub philosophyIf you’re looking for something to help you sleep at night ... scroll on my friend because this show is super clever! Their banter mixed with deep analytical thought makes this podcast one of a kind. I enjoy them very much!

JWS1437An excellent program!I thoroughly enjoy listening to this show. The topics are very interesting and accessible. I also enjoy the banter between the hosts quite a bit. But.. PLEASE get rid of that god awful derivative theme music! It makes me cringe every time I hear it. It just doesn’t match the emotional impact a lot of your content brings along with it. Besides that, I honestly love the show!!
-
matate99Fun and insightfulGreat group of guys who teach interesting topics in philosophy while also having fun at the same time.
-
archie2098The absolute best!!This is how you communicate philosophy!! Thank you so much!
-
Will-you-philosophize-with-meLove this show!Love this show, I listen to every episode. Best philosophy podcast available. Detailed and easy to dive into.
-
PatfarlowMarxThe episode on Marx was unsophisticated. It sounds like they crammed all they could to make a deadline. They decide, in the end, that capitalism is good because they would rather not lose all their cool stuff.

Telnet-to-the-MindPhilosophy for the rest of usI'm typing this on an iPhone so I must be brief. But this post cast is without a doubt my favorite. It blends humor accessibility and learning and discovery all together and it does it amazingly well! The topics start at the foundations and don't assume that your a philosophy major with tons of prior knowledge. They provide a more light hearted way of discussing topics and even have a few episodes where they invite some guests in and sit them down and let them crack on about the discussion. The very liberal and open aspect of podcasts in general lend itself perfectly to philosophical discussion! Anyway please please if your looking for some good brain food pod subscribe and check them out. And their twitter!

CcllaayyLong OverdueI've been listening for about a month now( and I've listened to every episode) and my review is long overdue. I love this podcast. It's the perfect level of banter/humor/wit and hard-and-fast philosophy. Keep it up guys!

Riz134One of my favoritesThoughtful yet accessible, humorous and well-structured. It should be required listening for anyone seeking a birds eye view of philosophy. There are podcasts that are hated, ignored, tolerated, and liked, but the panpsyche guys are beloved in our house.
-
holls1337Makes me want to do a jigFun, educational, dramatic, riveting, surprising, jovial, even supplies you with a handy sense of superiority when you consider the poor wretches who don't listen to this podcast.
-
Josh benfeldNew favorite podcast.I started listening to the episodes on Camus a few weeks ago, and was hooked immediately. I have since gone back to the beginning and heard every episode except the newest one. It is amazingly informative and entertaining. I am a science major, and am not doing my "a levels" (not sure what these are, but I'm guessing it's a British thing), but have enjoyed every one of these episodes. The episodes on existentialism and the problem of evil are my favorites so far. I am excited to see what comes next. I would like to hear more about both existentialism and the problem of evil, if you're taking suggestions. The euthyphro dilemma would be a great episode or two. I'd also like to hear more about the gnostics or Neoplatonism. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone interested in philosophy, whether it be for school or for pleasure. The format of the episodes has also improved significantly after the first 2 or 3. (The first few were good, but you are getting closer to great now).
-
altaroflJust a solid podcast all aroundWell-researched, well-organized, very informative without being too much, and the guys have great voices to listen to. Been enjoying it very much so far. Keep it up!

glassjawsEnjoyable for non-philosophersI like how this group is able to explain the complex ideas in ways I can understand without prior study. I enjoy the interactions of the casters and always look forward to new episodes.
