    Yea…
Just like other reviews I’ve read, the show is kind of declining and Andy (you might be a great guy) but you drag this show down man. Its a circle of hating and just non-sense.

Re: Your Christmas Binge ep …
Thank you, thank you, thank you for so conscientiously taking the time to share the corresponding streaming service for each of your recommendations.

    Fassbender
Catching up on recent episodes and was struck by your comments about Michael Fassbender. I agree he's a great actor, but it should be pointed out that the timing of him becoming more quiet professionally, or "selective" as it was put in the podcast, coincided with resurfacing reports of legitimate domestic abuse allegations brought against him by an ex. I love the pod, but felt like I had to say something on this.

It’s absolutely ridiculous that these guys didn’t even bother with The Penguin. What show in the interim was worth talking about?
  • So Deep.
    Way too much elitist negativity
Way too much elitist negativity . Andy should be an occasional guest or replaced entirely.

    Talk penguin
Just because andy doesn’t like most things doesn’t mean you don’t have to talk about Penguin. Do the penguin you idiots

I just listened to your latest podcast regarding “Disclaimer”. I have never heard such amateurish ‘bro’ dribble about a series before even seeing the final episode which ties it all together. I listen to many podcasts but without a doubt yours is the most juvenile one I’ve ever heard. Are you both trying to out laugh each other? You are pathetic. Grow up and learn what real art is before you tear it to pieces in your immature, disgusting way.

    Redmayne
I've been a fan since my first ep years ago. Per usual, steller show gents. Ye lot really been yeomans work,👍😻🥰. Greenwald/Ryan ye sleepin' on ol' Redmayne, most stuff i've seen him in, he's been good.

    Not fun anymore
The show used to be fun but for some reason these two like to diss & discuss shows/movies they didn’t like for large parts of the episode. Why not just let the ringer’s midnight boys/house of r elaborate on the stuff they clearly don’t vibe with? Idk but it’s very cringey at this point. They guys could be trying out a decent show like FROM which I believe they’ve never mentioned, but they choose to talk about how much they don’t like The Penguin while it’s clearly been a hit? That’s piss poor discussion tactics for a pod.
  • GavinC1
    I agree. Not fun anymore.
Used to love the show but in the last year it seems it has devolved into being just a couple haters who’s taste is simply much too refined for us peasants. Obviously it’s more of an Andy trait but he’s definitely dragged Chris into that downer realm as well.

Great for Succession and Industry Lovers
All the nuanced insights of Roeper, with the subtlety of Rex Reed. (But I still try to listen because I’m grateful they convinced me to give Andor a chance.)
  • Jazzdelmar
    Industry?
You’d think industry is the only show on tv.
  • ALB Man
    Like it but…
Like the pod, but there is, from time to time, an unwillingness to engage with the material that they don’t like in any depth. I also find there to be a bias in favor of the MCU and greater critical scrutiny towards other non-MCU IP. I assume it has something to do with childhood / teen nostalgia. Frankly, I find no IP universe inherently superior, and the MCU has more than its share of junk.
  • Mih_Hall
    It’s good, but…
I love Andy and Chris, Andy is starting to give off dismissive, “I’m above it all”, whiny vibes. In his own way, he is becoming just like my least favorite podcaster at the Ringer - Amanda Dobbins. He almost whines like a child about anything he doesn’t like, and sometimes not because of the actual show itself, but because of the “principle” or some other made up reason. And his constant rants and disruptions any time Chris tries to make a point, are getting exhausting. Like Chris rarely gets to articulate a thought without being interrupted by Andy. And finally, the constant avoidance of questions by Andy is getting out of hand. “so what did you think of episode 3?” - Chris “Wait a minute, wait a minute, I’m still stuck on the fact that last night when I texted you, you were eating chicken. Is chicken a thing now?” - Andy. Like I love this duo, but Andy step it up. You can do better than this, I’ve listened to episodes when you’ve been great.

50 minute podcast that doesn’t start until 15:00
Tried to listen a couple of times, but I never had to fast forward so much in a podcast just to get to the topic.
  • McMack1120
    Andy phoning it in
Andy’s tastes just get narrower and narrower. He doesn’t seem to enjoy doing this any more and the show that is supposed to cover TV ignores far too many quality shows. Andy just doesn’t seem to care and turns his nose up at programs with picayune or inexplicable objections so that a ton of great content never gets talked about. Instead we get 20 minutes of tedious banter or talk about trailers or discussion of one episode of a show that just gets dropped. For a pod about watching TV shows there is a decided lack of discussion about TV shows despite there being plenty of worthwhile offerings to dive into.

    Industry Season 3 Finale
Did not have *crying* during the Industry Season 3 finale on my bingo card. Love all the new storylines and genres this show is exploring, even if heartbreaking and soul-crushing to watch at times. Can’t wait for Season 4!
  • HamChalupa
    Like David Letterman
Letterman used to beat a bad joke into the ground until it was hilarious, like here’s a guy in a bear suit going into a coffee shop, here’s another, here’s another, here’s another. It feels lame at some point, but then when the shop is full of guys in bear suits, you’re just delighted. Andy is doing that with Thomas Friedman references. You might be tired of it now, but just wait till it’s 90 minutes of non-stop taxi rides in Mumbai. I’m sure it will be just as much fun as Dave cackling at a coffee shop full of guys in bear suits. Legends.

    No longer interesting
Used to enjoy this show a lot but they’ve become pretty cranky and seemingly hate a lot of the stuff they cover now? Every IP based show is a slog for them but if it’s a Marvel action-comedy, they love it. Listening to less and less of their episodes these days because the takes have become boring and predictable at this point.

these divas are MAD The Bear didn’t win
Look they have cute banter sometimes, but we must remember that ultimately they are prototypical upper-middle class straight white dudes who work for The Ringer - and i do mean that with all the stereotypical interests and preferential media defenses therein

    Lost its shine
Industry is not as good as they are pretending it is. Sounds like being friends with “Micky and Conrad” makes Andy overlook his distaste for nihilism. On a deeper level it’s weird to hear him talk about the entertainment industry in a way that seems like he finds it all so frivolous and empty but also clearly wants to be a part of it so badly.
  • Mattstone237
Industry analysis has been top notch
Great work on the industry episode reviews. They make me realize a lot of things that I just subconsciously noticed but am too dumb to put into words

Season 3 Industry is so stupid!!
I usually love and agree with you guys on most everything but every time I hear you talk about how Season 3 of Indistry is a masterpiece, I feel like I’m having a stroke. Seasons 1 and 2 were great but 3 is the worst kind of soapy schlocky melodrama and it has ruined all the characters. It’s like it’s being written by completely different people. Empirically, it is bad. Are you guys being paid to say you love it? What happened to you?

    The watch
Not nearly as funny as they think. But good place to find out about shows absent any useful insight to those shows.

    Great Show
One of my favorites - not to be missed. Special request to bring back Stick the Landing - smart, interesting analysis of our favorite series finales.

    Love it despite the TDS
Love the pod except for the cohosts’ respective TDS that somehow makes its way into every episode
  • tua_tuatua
    Curious
Do we think Andy knows the names of the creators of Industry?
  • Back to ESPN
    Is this really it?
A show that talks about shows no one is watching. Andy Greenwald should be checking IDs at a Costco.

    Ease up on the politics
Please, please stick to the subject matter. The listener is aware, in detail, of the political leanings of the hosts via snide comments and virtue signaling. It’s escalated recently. Stick to the topics, please.

    More Andy & Sean
Big fan of this show. Just wanted to note that this weeks episode with Andy and Sean was fabulous. Would recommend the ringer find more opportunities to pair up this duo. Adore Chris & Andy together but Andy and Sean were also a great combo.

    Well Done
This one is one of the gold standards of good TV and movie analysis. The only other in this vein and quality level is Taking It Down, but this one can’t be beat. Andy and Chris give intelligent ideas on TV, movies, and more.

    Haters
Do us all a favor and stop watching Marvel movies. You sound like the two biggest haters in the world

    I love my boys
My dream blunt rotation is Andy and Sam Esmail chastising CR for not putting The Leftovers on his best of the year list. Forever.
  • coolusername
I listen even though I have no desire to watch most of the shows they talk about.
Taking one star off for seemingly, unironically using a Kamala Harris quote multiple times in the episode where the cover the Acolyte and finale of Presumed Innocent. You can’t make her normal, fellas. Side note: if you want your show to not be criticized- be interviewed by then. They may be the only two people who kinda liked The Acolyte.
  • SethFourTen
    Hot garbage, but satisfying
I listen to this show at work to remind myself what I do every day is productive and helpful. I’m glad I don’t have to waste my life talking about inconsequential garbage that’s dated in a day and no one will remember in a year.
  • Lydia123446789
    Andy stop already
This show is becoming unbearable with Andy’s ever annoyances. Nothing is fun or enjoyable about this pod anymore.
  • Wayside Violet
    More banter
I would listen to 3 hours a week of just Chris and Andy chatting.

    Listening to The Watch
I’ve always found this podcast entertaining, even though the idea of waxing so intellectual about TV shows is pretty stupid (as is the Ringerverse itself as a whole), especially when one of the hosts pronounces “figure” as “figger.” However, lately the most annoying part is everything has to be constantly fit into a sweeping narrative about Hollywood, TV habits, or pop culture in general, especially when Andy G will go on and on gushing about the genius or cultural significance of a series after an episode of two (such as “Presumed Innocent” and the most recent season of “Fargo”) and then immediately change his tune with the next episode. They both need to relax and pause until after watching the full run before either lauding, dismissing, or historically placing a show. They set themselves up for disappointment by being so excessive in their praise and criticism at the beginning, and that leads to subsequent overreactions and unfair assessments going forward. It becomes too much blah blah blah with opinions that we then hear change dramatically the next week—and now fully expect will change, which devalues those views. It’s still an enjoyable pod for the chemistry between Chris R and Andy, though.

    Andy-STOP Talking
Please have Andy stop talking- especially about shows that he has already expressed he does not care about. He is clearly not on the intellectual or emotional level to handle shows like HOTD and more. You are losing viewers.
  • juwanhoward
Great when they talk about TV
This podcast is excellent when they talk seriously about TV shows and I will be eternally grateful to them for introducing me to The Bureau. But when they talk about anything other than TV… Not great Bob.
  • JBev1978
    Get to the subject…
Tuned in to listen to the Bear season 3 review. After 15 minutes of pointless banter between Andy and Chris I’d lost almost all interest. Once they finally got to their thoughts on the show I was zoned out. Every show starts in this manner with conversation completely unrelated to shows and that makes it hard to continue listening.

    Ughh
Stop laughing at yourselves for jokes that relate to no-one but your white irrelevant selves. Parenting and sports giggles for 20 minutes? No thanks. Remember that your job is to WATCH and discuss what you are WATCHING
  • Augley
5 stars for Chris, 1 for Andy
Why are you still discussing House of the Dragon ? Andy stated outright he won’t do the “labor” to watch it with enough interest to have an informed conversation.
  • Gabsies23
    Andy’s HOTD hate is obnoxious
I love this pod and typically their takes are spot on. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I’m sorry… when it comes to House of the Dragon, Andy is just flat out wrong. It’s really not that complicated or hard to figure out what is going on. Props to Chris for putting up with his nonsense and defending the show.
  • Fortich
    End the show
    Garbage
  • jared wertz
    Hit or Miss
Half the episodes Andy just destroys the show being discussed and there is no actual discussion about the show or plot. Just Andy ripping the show to shreds and voicing his opinion. Ruins the episode every time because the plot and show don’t even get discussed.
  • fdoconnorii
