Be more concise and to the point
These guys talk too much and often repeat the same things several times. They turn what should be a 15 minute episode into an hour and a half long drawn out episode.

Perfectly timed “no and then” = another 5 star review
Long time listener and beer fund supporter likes the cut of this podcast’s jib

A little love for the Captain
I feel like the Captain gets a TON of hate, but honestly he’s my favorite part of the show. Even when he says things that make me roll my eyes, I find him to be lovable, sincere, and a valuable part of the podcast. Nick is awesome and he plays off of the captain so well that the dynamic is incredible. One without the other just would not work at all

    Big Love & a 1 Star Penalty
This is one of my favorite podcasts. It’s actually fun. Love the intros and outros the Captain composes. However, over the past year (2019/2020) the commercial time has gotten humongous. Three straight minutes a pop... so I’ve deducted one star. Seems they are adding one full minute of ads per break every season. Where will this end? Also The Captain seems to have gotten on an autotune bender — which hurts my ears. 2024. West Memphis 3, there’s an episode with a full THREE AND A HALF MINUTES OF ADVERTISEMENTS. Ouch. I’m dumbfounded by the WM3 episodes — lost on the order of things. Example, There’s 2 Part 2 of 2s. Are they redundant? Old or new? I’m lost. 2024, man, the ads are getting crazy. E767 I hit Fwd 12 times to by pass ads at 30-seconds a pop. That’s SIX minutes of ads because I can’t pay for a subscription. Whew!

    Fewer unsolved cases, please.
These guys are great to listen to, but recently, there are too many unsolved cases. I appreciate that those cases need attention, but mix it up a bit more? And most cases, especially the unsolved ones don’t warrant 2 hours because there isn’t enough information; they just rehash the same information over and over again.

    Keeps My Attention!
Love these guys!! A friend of mine told me about them years ago and I’ve been a loyal listener ever since! Keep up the great work guys!!!

    always
from day one i listens in earnest as you were one of the original podcasters way back when - then re-listened when you put all of your episodes on stitcher, and now, a $ donor. love the facts represented as facts, and opinion stated as opinion, and the big hearts that you two have and believe in for victims and for the lost ... love you, really ❤️ yo nana, 1950

    Simple
It’s such a simple thing, but TCG was the first podcast that I noticed would list part # of # on their multi part episodes. I love binging all episodes in a series at one time (or as near in time as possible). Keep up the good work!

    Definitely 2 white privileged dudes
If you can’t see that when you talk about some of the incarcerated and why they keep offending no matter the color. Never walking in someone else’s shoes you’ll never understand. Rapist, child molesters, serial killers you can’t fix that. But some other ppl deserve redemption and if you think our prisons are correct and just and help ppl. You’re just another part of the problem and that is criminal. So watch the stones you throw out of your glass house. You windows are a little dirty. Like the rest of us humans.

    What a show!
I’ve been listening to this since yall started. I love every episode. You definitely do your research and understand each case. Thank you for all the work you put in to each case and the genuine care you have for the victims and families involved. Cheers to yall and cheers to the garage family!

    One of the best!
I love how detailed they are, they don’t leave much out unless they think it’s too graphic. They definitely do their research! I like them both equally, they compliment each other. A very well done podcast! I will be buying them a round in the future!

    Karen Reaf Coverage
Nic did a terrible job covering the Karen Read trial. “ let law enforcement just do their job”?’ Are you serious? The coverage was very high level, which is fine, but the details are inaccurate and often based on testimony of proven liars. Just because the witness was sworn in means nothing! His research was from CBS and NBC news, which is pathetic. How about listen to the trial? I appreciated the Captain injecting his comments about the messy, comprised and embarrassing investigation done by law enforcement.

    Bad bad bad
Don’t waste your time. The captain is an absolutely terrible host. So many incoherent ramblings it’s hard to listen.

    Steadily going down hill
I’ve been listening to this pod for YEARS and am editing my review. I am so sick and tired of true crime podcasters constantly editorializing and pushing a political agenda. Half of the time you guys glaze LE and the other half you sound like a SJW. I don’t know if you’re confused or trying to ride the fence but you’re just alternating which half of your audience you piss off. Here’s a thought-stick to true crime and shove the rest up your…ear balls.

No longer a yes for me.
Have been a listener for years, but am finding it harder & harder to get through episodes. Maybe my tastes have just changed as better & better podcasts come on the scene. I no longer can stand to listen to the Captain. He comes at everything with such a juvenile outlook & his interruptions & rants are obnoxious. They take away from the story & that’s not a good thing.

    Hooked!
Only podcast I listen to but I am hooked. Had to start from the beginning so I’m years behind, but I’m going to push through and catch up eventually. Love both hosts!!!

    WM3
This is my first time listening to True Crime Garage and getting through the West Memphis Three episodes was difficult. The hosts interrupt each other constantly, spin off on random tangents, don’t understand the legal terms they are discussing, and there doesn’t seem to be any flow or outline to the conversation. It’s hard to follow and after all those episodes, I still don’t have a grasp of the facts or even who’s who.
  • SDF725
    My favorite true crime podcast!
I began listening in 2021, had to go back and start listening from the beginning…finally got caught up and while waiting for your new ones, I’ve gone back and re-listened to the older shows! Love the occasional comedic banter between you two and love the effort and research you put into each show. You guys are doing a great job, look forward to each new episode!

Cheers from way in the back!

Satisfying all your slightly questionable True Crime Needs🤤
Hi my name is Joey, and I am a True Crime Garage Addict 😌 True Crime Garage is my favorite. Gets me through my work day and Thanks to Nick and the Captain, it’s host, they Bring awareness to all types of crimes but keep it fun and it’s a great format. The only thing I can say I don’t like about the show is, well , there isn’t another one just like it🥺. This is an awesome show and thanks guys for putting it out there . Off the record is a definite must if your a true fan of true crime! Thanks for letting me share😉

Wanna play a drinking game? Take a shot every time the “colonel” says “not only that but,” after the captain says anything…you’ll be more drunk than the two of them 4 mins into an episode
  • CFHayback
    Good show, but…
The captain constantly shows what a hayseed he really is.
  • npelosi
    Interview
That was one of the best podcast interviews I’ve heard (with Dan Stidham); so well done! I’d think of a question and Nic would ask it. Extremely thorough my man!
  • Ellisbee99
    Memphis 3 Episodes
These episodes were hard to listen to because of the Captain’s constant interruptions. They were unnecessary and disrupted the flow of the story.
  • Momslowlylearningapps
    Really good listen. Audio changed.
Audio quality recently changed & I don’t like it. Sounds filtered.
  • lauraofessex
    Good show
I like listening to Nic and The Captain, although I do wish the Captain wouldn’t interrupt Nic so much!
  • KJCasper27
    Coverage of WM3 is excellent
Beyond heartbreaking for everyone involved and a complete failure of justice on the part of the AK justice system. To know the killer(s) are out there living their lives clearly shows real evil exists.

Listened to Nic and The Captain for 4 days to drown everything out. Thank you, guys.

    It’s pretty good, but…
I do really like this show and I love that there’s so many episodes and interesting cases but…please please please it’s not “he had went” it’s “he had gone.” Please learn the correct past perfect tense for “go” and others. I notice myself correcting the grammar out loud all the time. Run the script through grammarly before recording. I am not a grammar snob by any means, but it bugs me so much.

    AMAZING
Been listening for years, most in depth true crime podcast with some humor to brighten the mood. Along with the great original music, they get straight to the point and give more than enough details for these stories

    My favorite
I have listened to many true crime podcasts and this one is my favorite by far. Very informative and great chemistry between the guys. I love how you can feel how they really put themselves into their research.

    Best podcast ever!
True Crime Garage is the best crime podcast I will ever hear. I like the cut of their jib. I would love for them to have another live event when they can so I can experience the magic in person. Big fan!

    Not solid or reliable
The research seems to be light on actual investigations, but more of We listened to all the other pods on this subject and here’s our half hearted synopsis, but aren’t we smart???

    Amazing Show
I love true crime and my mom used to listen to true crime podcasts at work. When she told me about them I started to listen to them while I work. It makes my day go by so fast and keeps me calm when work is stressful.

    One of the best
This is a phenomenal podcast. My only complaint is for whatever reason, every few episodes Captain seems intent to interrupt every 5 seconds for literally no reason at all. When its happening, it adds nothing to the conversation. I can tell Nic is just as annoyed as we are when he does it. Thankful he doesn’t do it all the time. Because when it’s bad, oh my God it’s B A D.
  • DawnzaLilla
    Misinformation
I have loved your show until tonight. Your story of 11/23. I know nothing about the case but as to your description of Martha’s Vineyard and access is so wrong. For her to get to Chapaquidick she would have to go to MV first. It is a very small island off of MV with a 100 ft crossing. ( Ted Kennedy). I now see you do NOT do real research and lead us astray. Wondering the path that is not a real path. Much confusion.
  • RJB Mom
    The best
Informative but always at least one thing to chuckle about. I love how the Captain will make a snarky comment and Nik will just keep talking like nothing happened. My favorite podcast
  • Tactical Vampire
    Crime podcast
I spent over 21 years in law enforcement and I regularly look for true crime podcasts that are done well. True Crime Garage has remained my favorite since I discovered it approximately four years ago. The content and presentation are excellent and I’ve recommended this podcast in every podcast discussion I’ve had. Thank you for what you do.

    Pretty Good
TCG is pretty good. Good variety of cases and decent research. Sometimes the “Captain’s”, blubbering and silly comments get old. Also, neither one of you are veterans and clearly don’t know how military operations and bases operate. So, please stop assuming and projecting your opinions on military base access and how NCIS works their investigations. The correct acronym is NCIS not NIS. Just so know, NCIS will do everything in their power to sweep sexual assaults under the carpet, especially at overseas commands; because that is considered an “International Incident”. Educate yourselves so that you’re not spreading misinformation. Trust me, I served stateside, overseas, and onboard.
