Late to the party but happy I made it. I was introduced to Adam Buxton a few years ago when I finally watched Travel Man... then finally started getting into his podcast! The only way for me to be succinct here is to say I love it!

The only podcast I actually re-listen to certain episodes….David Sedaris and his crap sack, and Joe and Louie and the Penguin Book Club. Thank you for all the chuckles and insights while I’m walking my dog, Ollie.

Still devoted to Doctor Buckles - loved the Christmas episode, it’s become my tradition to listen to it every year on the drive to my parents house! original review from way back when: I heard Adam interviewed on Throwing Shade and really enjoyed the episode and decided to check it out the next day. So happy that I did. The Adam Buxton Podcast is funny, silly, smart and Adam is really lovable and charming. I look forward to listening every day (as I catch up to present-day episodes). Usually when I find a podcast to fall in love with, I binge until I burn out, and then need a break. I think I started listening last summer, and I have fond memories of days just listening to Adam, episode after episode. Yes, I started talking to him out loud, correcting him when he mis-remembered things he’d said on previous occasions, and even making my own hysterical comments that of course he couldn’t hear or appreciate. At the same time, I was also loving Rosie, Adams beautiful dog ( I looked her up, not a common beauty, but yes, beautiful). I always listen chronologically, and I happily tripped along through seven years of content. I eventually caught up, and then began anxiously awaiting each new nugget of insightful fun. We’ve been on hiatus since Christmas and although I know that Adam has a life of his own and plenty of projects to keep him busy, I’m seriously starting to pine. I did listen to Adam’s friend Louis Theroux’s podcast “Grounded” while I patiently waited, trying to keep the feeling going, and it was also very enjoyable with a different spark, but much shorter in content, so I devoured it in little over a weekend. So Adam, if you read this review, I hope you’re well, I hope the family is good, and if you have a bit of time, maybe an update? Some “casters” even make little short episodes, just to keep us hanging in there. Not that I would ever leave, I’m here for you! Until we connect again, I remain, a lonely Podcat.

I love this podcast. Adam has been my friend and constant companion for a year. Thank you Adam. I love his humility and depth. I have recommended this pod to countless friends and they all love it. I’m trying to be as emphatic as humanly possible with this review. I hope I succeeded

I’ve been a regular listener since 2008 when Adam had his BBC podcast with Joe. Always enjoyable, no matter the guest. Thoughtful takes and often funny. New listeners might need a few episodes to acclimate to the unique style, but so worth it. (Fan from the US here)

If anything the podcast, not Adam, is too short. Avid listeners in Seattle. I also look forward to Adam and Joe’s reunion each Christmas. But will The Queen make an appearance this year? And will it be in good taste?

Hiya Adam, I’m a mid-40s GenX’er podcat from North Carolina. I found out about your comedy via my fondness of James Acaster & Lee Mack, both of whom have been guests. And you made me laugh so much in that Travel Man episode. Anyway, I live alone and during the pandemic (as well as after) I found comfort in listening to your show, almost as if I were sitting at the same table at a dinner party just enjoying the convos around me. I’ve also read Ramble Book and enjoyed it; you’re very hard on yourself, something we have in common, so reading your thoughts helps me to remember that everyone is just doing their best, so don’t forget to check out that sunset or listen to birdsong, or any songs for that matter, etc., vs. replaying things you’ve said/done over & over in your head. My favorite episodes are the ones with Cornballs and Tash. I am one of the people who listen to the show’s ending *on purpose*, I like when you fake hug us and yell ‘Byyyeee’ and I ALWAYS sing along to all the jingles: the Ramble Chat song, the No, No, No, Have You Seen my Phone Charger, Like & Subscribe; I even know the words to your SquareSpace commercials because I like saying, ‘Successsss’ when you do. I’ve owned 4 dogs in my life and when they get a bit older they just don’t get as excited about walks, that’s totally normal, but what’s important is to keep offering in case they feel like it, doubtful it has anything to do with yelling bye (but I can appreciate that person’s theory as trying to be helpful). Just wanted you to have heard from some of us (ha, likely lots of Americans) who like the ‘loud parts’ and swearing, that said, it’s never a bad idea to consider trying something new, like an updated sign-off but do it ‘cause it feels right to you, not because you woke someone up (smh, kinda rude to say that), i.e. I, and the other awake folks, listen to the ads thereby making it easier to fund your next Maldives getaway w/ <your wife>, you dig? Always an excellent podcast that is both interesting and hilarious. Many of the guests are unknown to me as an American, but I always come away having learned a lot and laughing. Adam excels at interviewing-he manages to extract interesting information and connect without asking rote interview questions. It’s quite remarkable. Most of all the podcast is so funny, especially when Tash is on! So glad to see that’s she’s back for her biannual appearance. Other favorite episodes/bits include: “12 lads” with Joe Lycett, “go to work on an egg,” and anything with Romesh Ranganathan. Shoutout to Rosie from another greyhound owner/sighthound lover. I’d never even heard of Adam Buxton until I stumbled across his episode of Travel Man (2016) just this past year. What a guy! Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy Marc Maron, but I enjoy Adam Buxton more. Even when he’s interviewing other people I’ve never heard of (Julia Davis for example) I find his interviews incredibly thoughtful and engaging. I’ve plowed through the archives and now look forward to each new episode. Thanks for bringing some much needed joy to an otherwise confusing and dark period in human history. Please consider doing a book tour in America.

Adam knows how to strike a balance between thoughtfulness and levity that few in the podcast world manage to pull off

I loved the Adam & Joe show, always had a soft spot for Adam so was excited to see he had a podcast. I now live in America so it's comforting to hear the English accent and be reminded of home. I am not a music expert, so it is interesting to hear his musings about his obvious love of it, his recommendations are excellent too. All in all, I totally love this podcast and have recommended it to so many people. Keep doing what you're doing Adam, you are a National Treasure ❤️

I found this show because I’ve been fan-girling Richard Ayoade. At first I thought the jingles were a little jarring because I wasn’t used to them. I really like them now and appreciate how clever and talented he is. I also think he’s very good conversationalist and does a great job of having an enlightening conversation that doesn’t feel forced. Give him a listen if you’re into the British comedy sensibility.

Have only recently discovered this pod - despite being a big fan of Adam’s from the A&J 6 Music days. Working my way through all the eps (and I am only up to podcast 70 - hurrah!) has been one of the bright spots of the last few months. I relate to Adam’s positions/views/foibles so much and love the ramble chat. My only complaint is that I now have so many ear-worms - at odd moments I find myself singing “My name is Adam Buxton, I’m a maaaaan” or saying “I was looking forward to eating my apple...” or more recently “Alright mate...Hello geezer!” But this is a small price to pay for such podcast wonderfulness.

This podcast is my fave - having been a follower of Adam and Joe back in the day it is such a pleasure to laugh (and occasionally cry) with Adam and his guests. The jingles are awesome - even the square space ads make us laugh out loud. Genius.

I’m a loyal podcat for several reasons. Adam Buxton has such a funny, friendly style. I love the quirky musical interludes. I feel a weirdly sincere affection for Rosie, his dog. Adam and his guests will discuss anything from surveillance capitalism to grief to the joy of biscuits...it is just excellent. He comes across as genuine, intelligent and humble. I listen more intently to this than most podcasts. I chuckle a lot more, too. Plus, if you’re a homesick expat, this is a very comforting listen. Thank you, Adam!

One of the great things about a podcast is that, over time, the listener can really build up a good impression of who a person is. Having listened to Adam’s podcast for years it seems to me that he’s a really good - and funny- guy. Slightly strange sense of humour that I haven’t always got over the years that I’ve watched him but which I now love. That’s on me. Anyway, so glad he’s back. It’s like listening to a mate having a chat with some well known people. Except your mate is really talented at it and the well known people aren’t just delivering what their PR suggested.

I listen to the podcast whilst walking my dog and it’s like having a friend with me. Love his guests, love his chatty style, love everything. Highly recommend.

Found your podcast right at the beginning of quarantine here in Manhattan, and so glad I did! I spent part of my childhood in a very quiet part of the U.K. and the sounds of your walks make me so nostalgic. On top of that, you’re truly the best interviewer of the many, many podcasts I listen to. Thoughtful, hilarious, spontaneous, wonderful! Can’t believe more people in the USA don’t know about you or that Malcolm Gladwell compared you to Joe Rogan (??). I discovered your podcast shortly before the craziness and it’s really helped get me through. I’m in NYC so it’s been a bit hectic stuck at home with 2 very young kids (5 & 18 months). It was so soothing to just get in the car, turn off all the crazy and just listen to your shows. Sadly, I’ve gotten through them all now so I eagerly await new editions. Also, as yours was the first podcast I actually listened to I’ve tried a few others but, sadly, they haven’t managed to live up to yours. It’s the perfect blend of funny and serious and put together in such a way as to always keep it interesting. Keep it up. You’re doing the lord’s work.

And the parody of John Lennon’s “How Do You Sleep” was extremely funny. “Paul McCartney was mean to me…so I am going to be mean to him...” And Thoureaux’s comment response was, “Are you sure that was about Paul McCartney? I used to live in England for 16 years and now moved back to Los Angeles. Listening to Adam’s podcast really makes me miss The UK. I love the way Adam asks interesting questions. He has great guests on and his interacting with them is very delightful, insightful, fun and mostly hilarious. I love his jingles too! I like the beginning and end -when he’s rambling with his dog Rosie and describing things about where he is and what his dog is doing & who he interviews etc. This podcast makes me smile & Laugh of course. I listen to this mainly when I’m driving around LA and doing errands. At one point when he was actually in LA interviewing Steve Coogan, he announced that he was at certain corner on a park bench looking around. I then realized I was at that EXACT location in my car! ( the corner of Crescent Heights & Santa Monica Blvd!) What a weird freaky coincidence! That, no less freaked me out. Anyway, just wanted to sing your praises and thank you for entertaining me when I’m doing my boring errands! Can’t wait for the next podcast! Keep me coming!!!( P.S.
