    Season 2??
Is there season two in the works?? It might be interesting to learn about resurgence of the 70s 80s and 90s in today’s music, just a thought!

    Amazing history
I love how this show really deep dives into the subject. I’ve learned so many interesting nusical tidbits. Doesnt matter the subject - it’s all good and I like the clips of songs that are played. I especially loved all the background on the disco series.

    Very pleasantly surprised!
When I saw the first episode was on that ear worm Who Let the Dogs Out I admit I was skeptical (and scared to let that song get stuck in my head). But the episode is less about the song and the fascinating stories about the people behind the song. It is a thoroughly enjoyable program, well researched and expertly delivered. Each episode of the season is nothing short of engrossing, attending to details that are often untold in many music history podcasts. And seriously, the episodes on disco are riveting, even if you’re not a disco fan! Great work! Great podcast!

From Beatles to Hanson, every episode worth a listen!
Steve Greenberg keeps you entertained with stories you may not know about your favorite song or musical group. The background stories were both fascinating and entertaining. Worth your time. I can not wait for Season 2. I would love Season 2 to include: 1) The First Teen Idols- Frankie Avalon, Fabian and Bobbie Rydel 2) The story of how “You Light Up My Life” became a huge hit. 3) The Second wave of Teen Idols using Television stars to capture the teen scene (Leif Garret, Shawn Cassidy, Scott Baio) and how those teen magazines contributed to their success. (and yes I read those mags!) Anne S

    Such a joy!
I LOVE Speed of Sound! Steve has a great way of story telling. The way the he tells the history of music, what was happening in the world, how he answers the question that just popped into my head is masterful. Can’t wait for more!

    You Had Us at Beatles
I heard a promo for this podcast and thought my up-and-coming musician would love it. We love listening to it together and prompts lots of discussions about musicians/groups and decades. I think my son enjoyed the 70’s the most to date.

    Favorite Podcast
I listen to a lot of podcasts and after finding this Monday it’s already my favorite podcast. I read so many memoirs, auto/biographies, docs, and this show still gives me stories I’d never heard before. This is the most fascinating music podcast I’ve ever heard. Every week I look forward to Tuesday mornings.

    Absolutely addictive!
It’s as if this podcast were made just for me! I am a lifelong musician and music history buff. I’ve played in bands for decades, and know a lot about music, but there’s so much more that I don’t know. Speed Of Sound fills in a lot of blanks for me, in a completely enjoyable way. The episodes on hip-hop and disco were a revelation to me, especially because my knowledge of those genres was very spotty. I was of the generation that, by the time it was named “Disco Music”, had an intense hatred of it. Only recently, with a few dozen years of playing bass under my belt, have I come to realize what a killer song Disco Inferno by the Trammps really is. It was great to get filled in on who the Trammps actually were, and how they came up in their environment. And the story of the further connections to the Twist episodes and the legacy of Cameo-Parkway is spellbinding. I especially appreciate the snippets of the actual recordings under discussion. Thanks Stevie, keep up the great work!

    🥳🤩Truly A Perfect Podcast🤩🤯
Not a single negative to say! I’ve given an absurd # of music podcasts a go, I mean down to the nitty gritty such as 2 Canadian men dissecting all Beatles songs 1 per episode. Always hoping for sooomething that none of them have, and this pod is the essence of that something! The most learned music buff will enjoy and most likely learn a lot! **+ song clips for nearly every song discussed 🎵🎶 Idiocracy is the cause of the like, ONE, <5.0 rating bc the n00b found an episode “long winded.” Those are the type of people I hope back offffff and go to the zillion other base level knowledge music pods.

    Long and disingenuous
The Beatles episode was interesting but still a bit long winded. Then I listened to the very long first episode where the narrator brags about how he stole a song from a successful Caribbean band to make a one hit wonder song. He does not sound like some one who respects the art at all, but is instead only concerned with the popularity contest and money making aspect of music. It’s an interesting concept for a podcast, but the execution is poor and disrespects the art of music. I guess that’s to be expected from a big time producer.
