I really enjoyed Seasons 1 & 2 but not Season 3. The short episodes are just not that engaging. The Goldie Thornsbury episodes dragged on so long with family members essentially saying the same thing over and over again. I hope the family is able to find peace and heal, I truly do, but hearing a grown woman say the words “my nanny” constantly over 2 episodes was too much to listen too.

It is so well written and produced and the host is superb. I can’t imagine how one tells this tragic story in a way that is easy to follow because it is so complex. Dennis does this exquisitely and with such deep reverence for Christian, his mother Rae, and the rest of his family. As a mother of a son my heart goes out to Rae. I applaud her resilience, her tenacity and her unwavering determination. The love for her son is palpable. I pray that she sees justice for her beautiful son. I’m just blown away by the efforts of Dennis and his team and all those who pitched in to help. I pray that out of this tragedy, the corruption in Meridian and everyone involved will be exposed and that justice will be exacted. So many evil people attempted to silence her and kick her while she was down. Now they’ve put a big spotlight on themselves. Wonderful show, thank you for sharing this story and all the effort you put into it. The way you handled it and all the information you received throughout the process was handled with care and class. Bravo

Excellent reporting! The Goldie Thornsberry case is especially heartbreaking and enraging, I hope Britney and Casey file a civil suit to find some small bit of justice for their nanny.

Season one was heartbreaking, I was so invested and truly feel like I know the victim’s mom, like I could run into her in the grocery store and give her a hug and have a conversation. And the theme music is fantastic!

The season 2 case is fascinating, but every episode starts with a LONG recap of the last episode. It’s mind numbingly boring. I love true crime, but I gave up after listening to the same stuff over and over for about 1/2 the episodes. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Hope it helps solve these cases. Correction: In episode 9 of season 3, Willamette is mispronounced. It should be Wil LAM it (with the stress on LAM).

I don’t binge any podcasts; at least I didn’t until I found this one. The storytelling is fantastic, as are the investigative skills. The use of multiple witnesses and different audio resources keeps listeners’ attention. Great podcast! I only wish I could do my own work (writing) while listening! 😂

Listened to the first two cases of Season 3. While the show successfully humanizes the victims, it fails to land culpability on anyone other than the victims themselves. When you use drugs and invite a homeless person to live with you, you’re taking a risk. When you walk down a highway in the middle of the night after drinking, you’re taking a risk. In both of these scenarios, the victims were not making the best decisions. My heart goes out to the families. I truly hope they are able to discover and accept the full stories of their loved ones deaths so they can fully grieve.

I have never gone through two seasons of a podcast so quickly. Thank you for bringing these cases to light. I pray that one day both of these families are able to get the answers they deserve. I would love to see continued update on both of these case.

I loved season 1 & love the way Culpable puts their episodes together and layers the info they put out. I also like the theme that is the basis for all the seasons. 5 stars from me in regards to the podcasters, content, format, all of it. It did make me sad, Season2 Ep.1, there was this notion that Brittany didn’t do drugs, she wasn’t an addict, she wasn’t involved in any illegal things - so she didn’t deserve to die. And I agree this young innocent mother absolutely did not deserve to lose her life. I also know that just because someone is an addict or does drugs recreationally they also absolutely don’t deserve to lose their lives. It tugged at me enough to hear that concept being put out there that I had to write this - and I’m not someone to ever write a review or speak up. However season 2 is about not being a bystander and I’m here to be the voice to help educate if anyone’s read this far along — drug use or not — no one deserves to lose their life more than another person. Solid research and investigation. Painfully trite scripts and amateur narration.

I’m a big fan of Tenderfoot pods so was excited to find Culpable, but I am struggling to get through the first few episodes of S1. The interviews with Christian’s family & friends are rambling, repetitive, and hard to follow. The amount of information I have after 3 episodes could have been consolidated into less than 1. I want to like this podcast but I don’t enjoy listening to people talk in circles over and over.

I like the revolving cases.

The Case Review season is especially well done. The deep dive seasons have been really good, but the handling of these smaller cases is executed with so much compassion and really honors the dignity of victims and their families. I’ve heard too many podcasts that feature survivors and families that slip into being exploitative and sensationalistic. This season is the total opposite of that, and I appreciate the care and kindness that clearly went into making it.

This podcast is amazing. The host has a calm, clear voice and the subjects and material presented are done in a clear, concise manner without unnecessary chatter or opinions. Please continue to present these cases so that justice can finally be obtained for the families! Great work!

Love this Podcast. Speaking to family and people directly involved with the victims. Season 1 & 2 have had me listening for hours on end, hoping there would be movement towards justice.

Compassion for the families, treading carefully when asking questions, great storytelling method, thorough and helpful investigating with a sincere desire to get a family’s story out to the public. These are the reasons for my 5 stars, well done to the producers of this show. Much respect to you.

I don’t believe in coincidences. Finding the girl who called 911!? D and Gene. Andrew knew he was overdosing and WANTED AND ASKED FOR HELP!! I promise you he would NEVER come home from the hospital and take the same drug. Not even the biggest addict in the world. I’m just devastated and heart broken for Andrew!

If it isn’t important to the case- stop wasting our time with all the details. Ep 1 & 2: 75% was just talking about absolutely nothing.

Season two is just a lot of repetition from one episode to the next. Story could’ve been told in much fewer episodes. Several times the interviewer’s questions couldn’t be heard but the response was loud. Annoying to have to keep adjusting the volume. Do not recommend this one.

Re: Andrew Thomas Wall. I believe two things can be true at the same time. Andrew was a Good Samaritan, kind hearted person, while also being a high risk person by allowing an unknown homeless person to stay at his apartment. He also, most certainly, could have used again soon after being revived by Narcan. I feel for this family so much, but I do believe he is culpable in his death. And was most certainly callously robbed of his belongings by whoever was staying with him.

If there’s question as to why all the credit card uses at gas stations, it was more than likely Andrew and/or Gene were buying people’s gas and they were paying them in cash. A real life “Reality Bites” moment.

Although it’s nice to have the podcast back, the first two episodes have a giant, gaping hole. I’m glad that the last 15 minutes of episode 2 finally begin to address what likely actually happened. But the days before his death - none of this sounds suspicious to someone who understands addiction and the behavior of an addict. This could have been a great podcast. An opportunity to educate listeners and actually help the family and Breanna understand what actually happened here. Next time, cover everything. Talk to people who have lived this unfortunate life. There is likely no conspiracy here. Not the credit cards, not the fact that the drugs progressed. And of course a drug addict would use drugs again immediately after overdosing and going to a hospital . That’s addiction. As much as I feel for this family, I find these episodes irresponsible by leaving that part out of the majority of these episodes.

I love everything about this podcast. It should be number 1 on the charts! Such a great job. 🥰❤️

The first case reviewed, which is a 2 part series, covers the overdose death of a drug addict. There is an effort made by the host and the deceased’s friends and family to suggest there was foul play involved, but I’m not sure how that conclusion could possibly be reached, given he was still wearing a hospital wristband from his most recent overdose just days prior when he was found, and toxicology reports show a clear overdose as cause of death. While the circumstances surrounding the aftermath of his death are clearly shady, it fits perfectly into the lifestyle of any group of drug addicted “friends.” Desperation for money and resources, and the deceased is no longer of value to them once they’ve got his stuff. Are we simply trying too hard here?

If Andrew was living off a CC he was making those transactions to get cash back to buy the drugs. Small amounts also keep parents from getting suspicious. Just my theory. I’m a mother of an addict. 10+ years. A club no one wants to be part of. Thank you for bringing attention to Andrews case.

After finally finding up and vanished I was so disappointed that they didn’t any more episodes. Then I finally found this one!! It’s a really good show and I have recommended it to so many people already!! I literally binged it and now I’m caught up!!!

This is A+ podcasting. I love when I find shows like this. It’s a deep dive, it’s well narrated, the sound quality is superb. It unfolds slowly and carefully and with great detail. Just like the Curtis Flowers story, it’s sad yet remarkable that podcasters have to be/can be the door to justice.

They clearly didn’t have enough material for this season. Super boring, extremely repetitive. They play the same clips over and over each episode. Episode 10 the first 30 minutes is recapping the entire season. Storytelling was great season one, disappointed this time around.

While it is always sad when a young person dies unnecessarily, this case is no mystery. This young man overdosed and the scum bags he surrounded himself with bailed on him and stole from him. This sad story repeats itself everyday across our country. If you are curious about who gave him the drugs, look at the wide open southern border and our joke of a president.

The new season is awful. None of these stories are interesting and it feel like you’re just reaching for money. 0 stars.

You’ve made a comment about military and military families twice now. Not all military families are traditional or conservative.

I enjoyed the season long stories about a suspicious homicide, but the “Case Review” series is just missing the same depth and detail. Each story is sad, but just sound like textbook addict overdose and/or suicide. In the weeks leading up to each death, the deceased began acting different, talking about death, not being themselves, etc. Typical addict behavior. There are not any other suspects, and the only proof offered in support of homicide is the interviews of the grieving families that cannot come to grips with their loved one being responsible for their own deaths. It is sad, and I hope the families get closure, but I do not think the short episodes do anything but drive home that the deceased did not die under suspicious circumstances. There may be further details in support of homicide that cannot be fleshed out in 45-60 minute episodes that make the season long stories more convincing, but those aren’t apparent in the single short episodes.

I’ve tried a few Season 3 shows. They are a disappointment, no substance. Tenderfoot should rethink this podcast.

This review is strictly about the new season of case reviews. I am torn about it. On the one hand, Dennis Cooper seems to be an earnest reporter with integrity. The episodes also do their best to make the victims as human as possible. On the other hand, the cases themselves do not seem to have much substance. In other words, there just does not seem to be much to review. In the end, the whole just feels like less than the sum of its parts.

Great show that is very well told with details that keeps you interested without losing you. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family for justice and closure.

This season should be called: “season 3 The Struggle of Brown People”. I think the first episode or two were alright but then it turned into a show about the certain race of the victim and not really much about the actual case or evidence. Pretty much garbage.
