Dark Soups10/1010/10 one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to in a while

cdubbubBest film podcastI had lost interest in films a few years ago, and Pete and Andy single handedly (double handedly?) revived that love. Going through their library of shows, I have watched films I never would have checked out otherwise. Plus there's the added treat to hear their discourse on films I know backward and forward (even if we don't always agree). If you love film, check this one out!

Jerry5967Best Film PodcastI love this program. They talk about movies I’m actually interested in hearing people talk about. So many episodes on my list.

Merrimack-KidWasted tome but good reviewIt seems every episode has about 20 minutes of wasted time at the beginning before you get to the actual review. More critical the wasted time is not about the movie. It’s mostly wasted talking about nothing at all. Once you get to the movie it does get better. And the review is worthwhile to hear. So I recommend to all listeners to just skip ahead and not waste your time on their useless conversation.

CoralfloridaNopeAnother film podcast with an uninformed host. Dime a dozen.

HHHH2023Fun and enlighteningThis is my favorite podcast which brings a whole new depth and perspective to the art of movie making, with a wonderful sense of humor throughout. It is so good that I bought the T-shirt.

kikoboy1derIn depthGreat discourse about popular and unknown movies with breaks downs and facts about each movie. A great find and perfect for movie lovers and those just getting into film

TheologyScholarBest podcast EVER for film fanatics!I drive a lot for work, and am always looking for a decent podcast that talks about the ins and outs of film. I've been so disappointed because a lot of podcasts are more into slamming movies, and most are way excessive on the cussing. Then fate intervened and showed me The Next Reel. Pete and Andy have such a love and appreciation for movies. They really dig deep on each episode, to the point where they sometimes feel like an awesome film class. They are funny and play off of each other very well, too. If you love movies, you'll love this podcast!

BabySwiss1637My favorite podcast! This is the most informative and entertaining podcast about films. It’s addictive and fun to listen. I listen to every episode just to enjoy the conversation between the two hosts. Love the show! The best!
-
Frat bossWow amazing movie talkThey really do talk about movies and they’ve seen the movies that they discuss, other podcasts do not talk about movies and have not seen the movies that these guys do because these guys have seen the movies.

Christopher from VAIntelligent Movie DiscourseIf you want knowledgable film discussion, then turn here. You may not always agree with the assessments of the movies (the two hosts and their guests don't always agree either), but you'll learn something and appreciate movies as both art and entertainment.

MandykapsThese guys are awesome!I don't always share their tastes or sensibilities but I am always entertained and enlightened. Glad I found them!!! (Tommy is hilarious...he's my favorite)
-
Film Roast PodcastVery Well Done! The Next Reel is awesome. Their website is full of cool info and their podcast is a lot of fun. They have some awesome sound quality and the hosts know how to seamlessly guide us through a show. I recommend this show to anyone who may want to keep up on the lesser known films of the world!
-
Dent De LeonExcellent showWell worth your time. The two hosts give great analysis of movies, story construction, production facts and the story behind the story. Great chemistry between these guys.
-
Tim Danger CabeenGood movies are chosenI like the movies they choose to discuss and they make many good points about the movies, as well as all the technical aspects, trivia, and numbers that most films shows/podcasts don't touch. Too often, though, the stammering of the hosts gets to me, as well as their lack of focus sometimes. As a result, I can't listen as often as I'd like.

LeishalynnThe Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Film Board reviewI want to say this is a bad review, but it's not, it's a funny and engaging review of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies by four guys who thought it was bad. Keep 'em coming, guys!

Matthew Medrano from Face BookThe Boom KingThese podcasts mean so much to me, as an aspiring Screen Writer and lover of good movies! They've helped me buff up my own "Monster Movie Screenplay" in so many ways. I always listen to them at work, but make sure I can adequately give them the attention they deserve. So, although it took me a while before I could listen to the 12 Monkeys review, it was well worth it, to hear me get a shout out from you guys! These guys are great, knowledgeable and their insight to plots, characters, scores, and everything else that makes these films, "Movies We Love" put them as #1 in my book! A true treat! Keep up the good work guys, and hope my review helps others find this fantastic podcast!

Blott2319Extremely enjoyable movie discussionsAndy and Pete have a great style of banter that just makes me feel at home. They are guys you want to hang out with and chat about movies. Of course they also have a lot of knowledge to share, and some strong opinions. I've now caught up on listening to every episode and I can attest that they just keep getting better. Adding the Flickchart rankings is a great addition to each episode. They even have a list posted of which movies they will review so you can watch along with them, which makes the discussion that much more interesting. This is easily my favorite movie podcast. Pick a couple movies you like in their episode list and try it. You won't regret it!

JG JosephFantastic show for movie loversI’ve really come to look forward to this super entertaining weekly podcast for casual movie lovers - my go to for Saturday morning runs. These guys know their stuff, but the conversations extremely accessible. It’s fun to learn new things about movies I’ve been enjoying for year. Keep it up and thanks for the fantastic show!!

Nicholas OrciuoloA great podcast for movie lovers!A great podcast, you will love it!

moxie2005So entertaining!Andy and Pete are so much fun to listen to, I don't even care if I haven't seen the movie they're talking about. More than once I've gotten strange looks on the street because I was laughing out loud while listening on my headphones. Maybe a Steve Martin series next year?
-
Philip HeardGreat Movie Podcast!!!Andy and Pete have a solid professional competence when it comes to discussing movies, but without the snooty film school attitude you run into sometimes. They seem to have a lot of fun watching movies and doing this show, and their theme based series ideas are a nice differentiation from other podcasts. Check out the archive, it's great!

xegoThe Gold StandardI just found your podcast on Sticher and I had to write to tell how impressed I was with your "Night of the Hunter" podcast, really first rate! Looking over the list of episodes on ITunes I felt like I struck podcast gold. You guys seem to have struck just the right balance between humorous camaraderie and well researched insight on a great film. Your podcast is the gold standard (is that still good?) for podcasts right up there with Sound on Sight, The Projection Booth, and my all time favorite The Hollywood Saloon.

Srmike214My go-to movie podcastI look forward to this podcast every week. It's entertaining and educational.

ubermevansExcellent Movie PodcastI am very glad to have found this Podcast. it's an enjoyable conversation about movies that has driven me to re-connect with why I love watching movies in the first place. They review lots of films I haven't seen, and find things in ones I have that I never thought about. It's not too formulaic, feels casual, and is definitely a can't miss.

Joel H.Informative and FunAndy and Pete do an amazing job of maintaining a good balance of informative, pithy dialogue and witty banter. Their two personalities are somewhat different, but mesh perfectly to create a genuinely entertaining and enlightening podcast. Another thing I appreciate is the clean style of the broadcast. Never do I have to worry about my four year old daughter overhearing something she shouldn't. Thanks, Pete and Andy!
-
DerickWJazzA great findStumbled across this one on my Smodcast channel. Enjoyable conversation for any movie geek. The don't just focus in the latest summer blockbuster. Everything from The African Queen to Prometheus. Can get a little techno-geek at times but they are objective and obviously real film fans. Give it a go!
-
AprilELSo glad to have found this podcast! The conversations are thoughtful and funny and rambling (in good way!) ... I think I would enjoy listening to the hosts discussing almost anything. But luckily for us, they really know and love movies! After listening I've been watching some of my favorites again with new eyes. Great podcast!

Dark Lord of PuddingFeels like I am in the room with themI enjoy this podcast alot. Even if they are talking about a movie I have seen a bunch of times and think I know everything about it, they seem to find things that I hadn't thought about. It makes me want to watch the movie again to see what I missed. For the older movies, It's like re-discovering the movie all over again, and for the newer ones I find myself seeing films I may have not been inclined to. It's a benefit to see the movies before you listen to the Podcast. If you do, you will get more out of it and feel like you are talking with the guys.

eighmmieDeep and Insightful Film BanterI have enjoyed the musings of Pete Wright on a number of different topics, but truly enjoy the Movies We Like podcast. The discussion always takes me back to the moments of the films which really caught my attention and made the lasting impressions. Wright and Nelson share new-to-me discoveries on the makings and behind the scenes and also give me some morsels of goodness on perhaps "WHY" those film moments connected. Highly recommend.

Juggling It AllLove these guys!A great podcast to listen to on a long weekend drive! I enjoy the episodes on movies I've seen just as much as I enjoy their banter on movies I haven't (or won't). Hoping for many more!
